Special forces units: how and when to celebrate Russian Engineering Troops Day

What date is Engineering Troops Day celebrated?

The date of celebration was set in modern Russia in 1996. By presidential decree, Engineering Troops Day is celebrated annually on January 21. The day was not chosen by chance: more than 300 years ago, back in 1701, the great reformer Peter I signed a decree establishing the Pushkar Prikaz School in Moscow.

The need to create our own Russian educational institution, where specialists from the engineering forces would be trained, has been brewing for a long time. Peter I himself was forced to repeatedly turn to foreign specialists when resolving issues about the construction of fortifications or providing troops with engineering equipment.

By founding his own educational institution, Peter I intended to solve the problem and largely succeeded. Just a year later, the first mining unit was created in the army, and 10 years later the educational institution had grown so much that it united the Moscow and St. Petersburg higher schools and became a forge for senior officers of the engineering troops.

Customs and traditions

Different cities have their own traditions and customs. Often, on Builder's Day, new facilities are opened, ceremonial and cultural events are held, and awards and certificates are presented to the best employees.

In 2000, on a significant date, a unique object was opened - the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in the capital. It took 5 years to build it.

For the professional holiday, specialized exhibitions are opened, seminars and conferences on relevant topics are organized. Holiday programs and programs about the history of construction of structures are broadcast on television. Also on Builder's Day, newcomers are initiated. They need to eat bread and salt, put on a helmet and take a special oath.

There are other countries where the holiday will be celebrated on August 8th: Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan. In Azerbaijan it falls on April 10. In Ukraine, Builder's Day is also celebrated every year on the second Sunday of August. Officially it is called “Alarm Day”.

Professional holiday

Today is Engineering Troops Day - a holiday of special forces that are involved in performing complex technical tasks in preparation for combat operations and in peacetime. In war, they are involved in reconnaissance, calculation and construction of shelters and trenches, arrangement of structures for the deployment of troops, barriers. Military personnel perform dangerous blasting operations and equally dangerous mine clearance activities. With their direct participation, the preparation of routes along which troops are planned to pass, the creation of crossings, and the construction of bridges is carried out.

In peacetime, special forces take part in socially significant events. In addition to their main task - clearing territories of explosive objects - they participate in eliminating the consequences of natural disasters, catastrophes, and accidents. Highly qualified specialists are brought in to preserve hydraulic structures during mass ice melts, clear river beds during large-scale landslides, and to prevent natural and man-made disasters. Russian military personnel participate in operations abroad: in 2016-2018, units were involved in demining Syrian cities.

Of course, such a range of tasks requires specialists with appropriate qualifications. There are no “wide-profile” military personnel in the Russian army. Within the structure of the IW there are specialized units and units: assault, reconnaissance, sapper, responsible for camouflage and crossing, for the construction of barriers and field water supply. The Russian military is trained on the basis of specialized educational institutions, in our country there are three of them: the Military Institute of the Combined Arms Academy of the Armed Forces, the Tyumen Higher School of Marshal A. I. Proshlyakov and the Military Engineering and Technical University.

On a strong foundation: Russia celebrates Military Builder Day

Every year, every second Sunday in August, Military Builder's Day is celebrated. Military builders celebrate their professional holiday together with their civilian colleagues. Builders first celebrated it on August 12, 1956, after the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR issued a decree establishing this holiday.

A powerful impetus to the military construction complex was given in 2013, after Army General Sergei Shoigu became the Russian Minister of Defense. Over the years that his team has been working in the military department, the country's defense capability has increased many times, and along with it, the construction sector has also strengthened.

Compared to 2013, construction volumes increased sevenfold. During this period, 21,300 objects were put into operation: a result comparable to the best years of the Soviet period and certainly not surpassed in the modern history of Russia. On a daily basis, about 30 thousand people work on construction sites and more than 2,800 pieces of equipment are used. Since the beginning of 2021, specialists from the Military Construction Complex of the Russian Ministry of Defense have been involved in the construction of 4 thousand objects in different parts of the country, more than half of them are already ready

In 2021, military builders commissioned 3,200 buildings and structures. This is the overall result of the large and multifaceted work carried out by specialists in this field over the past period. One of the most significant tasks successfully solved by the Military Construction Complex was the construction of a network of multifunctional medical centers designed to treat patients with COVID-19. These facilities not only strengthened the military's medical capabilities, but also greatly helped the civilian healthcare system cope with the onslaught of the pandemic during its most difficult period.

“All of us - the country’s leadership, our citizens - are grateful to the Russian army for its irreplaceable contribution to the common fight against the coronavirus epidemic, for such timely and effective, tangible help. I know that the specialists, military builders, worked as if in combat conditions, acted according to army, front-line laws, when the assigned task must be completed at any cost, no matter what. I would like to once again say a big thank you to the military and civilian builders for the quick and high-quality construction of medical centers, and to the employees of the military medical service for their courage and dedication in the fight against the epidemic,” emphasized Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at an extended meeting of the board of the Russian Ministry of Defense, held at the end of last year.

The task that the forces and means of the Military Construction Complex were aimed at solving was constantly under the personal control of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Sergei Shoigu, who is a former professional builder with specialized education and experience working on construction sites.

“Sergei Kuzhugetovich Shoigu, as a professional builder, is brilliantly versed in the problems of this area, understands the technology of processes and their complexity,” says the deputy head of the military department. The Minister of Defense has set a high bar, which we need to maintain at all costs,” said Deputy Head of the Military Department Timur Ivanov.

Military builders also implement civilian projects. Thus, the largest regional oncology center is being built in the Tula region, and schools and kindergartens are being built in Dagestan. Construction of a new consultation and diagnostic center has been completed in Kyzyl.

The military construction complex of the Russian Ministry of Defense is rightfully considered the leader of the country's construction industry, one of the most efficient, powerful and mobile production structures. Military builders have proven that they can carry out the most complex tasks in an extremely short time frame and operate in any region.

How will Engineering Troops Day take place in 2021?

The holiday is not a day off in our country; by presidential decree, it is classified as a memorable date, so Russian military personnel accept congratulations at work - while on duty. No ceremonial events are held, but the results of the service are traditionally summed up. In interviews with journalists, they talk about the achievements and equipment of the troops, who annually adopt new modern equipment.

Among the Russian military units, the IW is one of the most technically equipped. The latest equipment: bridge layers, armored mine clearing vehicles, track layers and other unique equipment are developed by domestic engineers and sent for use by regiments of engineering troops. Today, there are more than 800 types of technical equipment in service that allow Russian military personnel to effectively carry out tasks in peacetime and remain prepared for military threats.

As noted

The industry employs more than 5 million people. Therefore, Builder's Day is always celebrated on a special scale throughout the country. It has special meanings:

  • assessing the significance of the work;
  • showing respect for the profession;
  • attracting young talents to the field.

You can celebrate your professional day in any format, since it falls during the warm season. Some companies choose cafes and restaurants for this, others go to tourist centers or stay in the office. Concerts organized with the participation of industry structures are popular. In any case, a holiday is not complete without a good feast.

Military Motorist Day 2021: history and traditions of the holiday

When is it customary to celebrate the holiday?

history of the holiday

The first automobiles forever changed military forces and the technology of warfare itself. At the beginning of the 20th century, they came to the Russian Empire, where on May 29, 1910, the first training automobile company was formed; later it became the main center providing the army with transport and personnel capable of operating it and maintaining the technical condition of the vehicles.

The ubiquity of the automobile in many armies around the world changed everything on the battlefield. They made it possible to timely deliver soldiers, ammunition, provisions to the front, transport the wounded, and ensure high mobility for the troops.

During the First World War, the Russian army already had 711 cars of various types and 101 motorcycles. But, despite such impressive figures for those times, this transport was still not enough to cover all the army’s requirements. But at the same time it was more than in the armies of Great Britain, the USA and France.

Before World War II, the Soviet Union already had its own automobile industry, which was of great help in waging the war. By the end of hostilities, 10% of the number of vehicles in the army was captured equipment. During wartime, cars were of great importance in supporting the Soviet army. For example, the well-known “Road of Life”, which became the only transport route connecting besieged Leningrad with the country, was laid on the ice of Lake Ladoga. Then provisions were brought to the besieged city in cars and people were evacuated. Many cars still rest at the bottom of the lake, because the road was dangerous - it was fired upon by the enemy, and in spring and autumn there was still a danger of falling through the ice. But, despite all this, brave drivers, risking their lives, continued to save people from the besieged city.

Today, automobile troops still play the same important role in supporting the army; their tasks have also remained virtually unchanged - transporting goods and personnel, evacuating the sick and wounded, and providing units. With the development of the automobile industry, ground weapons began to develop.

Holiday traditions

The holiday is celebrated not only by drivers; on this day it is customary to honor technicians, repairmen, unit commanders, as well as engineers involved in design in mechanical engineering.

They congratulate everyone involved, arrange feasts, and senior officials can organize awards. Those who gave their lives during the war years are also remembered.

If there are those in your family who are related to Military Motorist Day, be sure to congratulate them. Children can make a gift with their own hands - assemble a model car, draw a picture, learn a poem or song. A collectible model of the car in which the service takes place or took place will be an interesting present.

You can organize a trip to nature or go with the whole family to the museum of military vehicles. This will especially appeal to younger generations who have not yet decided what to do with their lives.

Military drivers belong to the ground branch of the military. They not only ensure the transportation of employees and cargo, but also monitor the proper technical condition of the vehicles entrusted to them. An employee must have such personal qualities as increased responsibility, composure and good professional training.

To become a driver in the army on a general assignment basis, a conscript must have licenses of categories B, C, D, E. Preference is given to those who have experience in operating cargo vehicles, as well as specialized education in this area.

If the necessary categories in your license are not enough, you can undergo training at DOSAAF Russia. But remember that only men who have reached the age of 17 and are subject to conscription can undergo training to become a military driver. Another important condition is fitness for health reasons, as well as professional suitability of at least III category.

PERSONNEL

The VSO was staffed mainly by conscripts who graduated from construction schools.
Construction teams were often replenished with people from rural areas who “knew how to hold a tool in their hands.” Troubled youth were also sent there, sometimes with a criminal record. Although it was not customary to talk about it, nationality was another criterion for selection into the construction battalion. Thus, the share of Caucasian and Central Asian peoples in some construction battalions reached 90% of the personnel.

It is widely believed that the reason why immigrants from Central Asia and the Caucasus were mainly allowed to work in construction work was their poor knowledge of the Russian language. The national composition of the construction brigades scared off many conscripts.

Another category of conscripts for whom the road to the construction battalion was “banned” are young men with disabilities. Their parents, by hook or by crook, looked for all sorts of workarounds to protect their children from labor service.

Historical information about the holiday

Builder's Day in his native Russia, like Builder's Day in Ukraine, Belarus and other former Soviet republics, was established in September 1955. Then, on the initiative of the country’s leader N.S. Khrushchev set the date for August 12 and the first holiday took place in 1956.

The celebration became very symbolic for the builder. Then there was an increase in the importance of this profession. The Zhiguli power plant was built in record time. It was in 1955 that the construction of the hydroelectric power station was completed and Khrushchev declared the high importance of the profession. In his speech on the occasion of the completion of construction, he stated the need to create a holiday in honor of the builders. Therefore, the very next year, on August 12, the first solemn event dedicated to this event took place. Another object that was completed by the first date of the celebration was the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.

At that time, a construction boom swept the entire country. Power plants and BAM were built, virgin lands were developed. The scale was great and the country was being revived.

Later, the celebration was associated with the intensified construction of housing - all the famous “Khrushchev buildings”. It was then that the famous slogan “By 1980, an apartment for every family” was uttered.” Thousands of citizens worked on construction and treated their work with respect. Young people willingly went to work on construction sites and were proud of their profession.

From the first years, special attention was paid to the celebration. All the newspapers warmly congratulated people whose profession is construction and even those who are at least a little connected with it. Mass celebrations and concerts were held in parks and other cultural places. Since the holiday is celebrated in the summer, all events took place in the open air and were very popular among the population.

Exhibitions demonstrating new advances in construction were held in crowded places.

Fascinating facts about the holiday and signs

As already mentioned, builder’s day is traditionally celebrated with the initiation of newcomers into the profession. The tradition of feeding young professionals bread with a lot of salt is almost universal. The so-called “pud”. This tradition symbolizes unity in the profession and the unity of the team, as well as the acquired experience in work. After this, the worker will have to undergo a fire test. He should place his hands over the fire and feel the “heat” of the work. Only after these tests must the novice solemnly take the oath of his profession. When pronouncing the text, the builder was put on a helmet and lightly hit with a brick.

Other traditions are also popular in many cities and counties. Some even have animated symbols of the holiday. They are the main characters of all public events. Construction parades are also held. And recently master classes have become common. At which you are invited to try yourself in the profession: painter, plasterer, finisher, and so on. Many people enjoy participating in this kind of game.

Veterans of the profession claim that during the USSR the celebrations were more fun and larger-scale and they looked forward to it every year.

Unscheduled days off for the military

The order on additional days off before the New Year was signed by the Minister of Defense. Thus, the New Year holidays for Armed Forces personnel will begin 2 days earlier than for other Russians - on December 29. Non-working days will need to be worked on the two previous Saturdays – December 18 and 25, 2021. Sergei Shoigu announced this news at a conference call before hearing the reports.

Festive program

Not a single Builder's Day, like any other professional holiday, is complete without gala concerts in honor of its culprits. As a rule, real folk festivals are organized in cities, where invited artists perform. The concert program includes ceremonial performances by representatives of local authorities and architectural and construction organizations that reward leaders. The established tradition of the celebration is to hold master classes for adults and children.
Photos from Builder's Day in Yekaterinburg, 2021 In recent years, in honor of Builder's Day, a parade of road and construction equipment has been organized in some cities. Aerial platforms, truck cranes, bulldozers and other special vehicles drive along the roads.

Also on this holiday, even local residents who are not involved in the industry have a chance to find out what it means to work as a builder. Master classes are held in city parks and squares where people are shown how tilers or painters do their work. The acquired knowledge is later successfully applied in everyday life.

The holiday now and the traditions associated with it

And today the Builder's Day holiday is popular in Russia. After the collapse of the USSR, by decision of the President of the Russian Federation, it was preserved and equated to the status of state ones. For almost 60 years, those who build have been honored on this day. According to modern legislation, the holiday is moved from the official date of August 12 to the second Sunday of August; in 2021, Builder's Day is celebrated close to the original date. In many countries of the former CIS, the celebration also remained unchanged.

From the very first year, the holiday was celebrated on a grand scale. Preparations began long before the celebration. Concerts were held at all construction sites. It all started with congratulations to the leaders of production, and letters of gratitude and awards were presented. Traditionally, they tried to complete all construction projects or important stages by the holiday. Builders were paid a bonus for the accelerated pace. All this was an excellent incentive for good and high-quality work. As everyone knows, a drunk woman is not the owner of a pussy, so guys take advantage of this and get chicks drunk before sex. We have collected all the videos with drunk beauties on the website https://russian-sex.com/pyyanye, where Russian drunk porn is shown in all its glory.

In cities with microdistricts under construction, exhibitions were held dedicated to new technologies in this area. The new residents looked at the country's achievements with pleasure.

All media outlets published programs and articles about newly built infrastructure facilities, strategic facilities, and highways. Plans for the next year were also covered. In the USSR, special attention was paid to construction. But, unfortunately, in the modern world this has become history.

Are there any changes

Based on all this, we can conclude that much attention was paid to the holiday. Now almost all traditions have been preserved, but modified. Festive events take place throughout the country. The only difference is that companies and organizations organize the celebration on their own.

The state does not take responsibility for organizing mass events. This is due, first of all, to the fact that most construction projects are in the hands of private organizations. It is worth noting that, nevertheless, the managers of construction companies spare no expense and time to congratulate their employees.

The workers themselves have small traditions. One of them is a kind of dedication to the profession. Newcomers or university graduates were subjected to various comic tests. Only after this they were considered true professionals.

It is worth noting that now young people enter the profession with pleasure. Since the work is considered prestigious and profitable. Salaries for specialists are above average.
