How to beautifully decorate a classroom for New Year 2022 at school with your own hands

How to decorate a classroom for the New Year 2022 with your own hands so that this traditional holiday can be felt visibly? After all, where there are visible sensations, there is joy, triumph, and hopes for better things, which the coming year must definitely bring with it.

Someone may say that a school classroom is a specific business premises, not intended for celebrations at all, and therefore there is no need to decorate it for the New Year. Eh, no! The holiday should be felt in everything, and New Year's decorations are quite appropriate in school classrooms. New Year is New Year everywhere.

Therefore, we will decorate the classroom with our own hands on the eve of New Year’s celebrations. What's the best way to do this?

Choice of color and style

The first thing you need to do is decide in what style we decorate the school and what kind of atmosphere we want to create. Stylish and beautiful colors in 2022 for New Year and Christmas themes will be blue, light blue, emerald, silver, shiny white. You can achieve an original, outstanding color if you combine winter shades.

The style in which we decorate the location does not have to be traditional, for example, with Father Frost and the Snow Maiden. You can connect your imagination to the process and develop a unique project. For example, recreate the magical atmosphere of a movie or cartoon (Home Alone, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, etc.). This idea will attract more attention and help you look at the decoration of rooms for the New Year with different eyes.

Vytynanka

An original and reusable decoration technique is vytynanka. These are plain lace (cut out like snowflakes) thematic or ornamental designs. Made from a white sheet against a dark board, they look bright and resemble the same chalk. But after the holiday they can be removed and postponed until next year.

For production you will need:

  • a sheet of thick paper;
  • cardboard stencil and pencil;
  • thin scissors.

To make things easier, the design can simply be printed and cut out. If the children themselves have to prepare the vytynankas to decorate the classroom by September 1 during creativity lessons, the task can be complicated by also practicing the skill of working according to a template.

Ideas for New Year's classroom decoration at school

Openwork snowflakes

A favorite design for winter school decorations is snowflakes. This is a great idea for kids to create their own decorations using simple materials - paper and scissors.

Depending on the step-by-step instructions you choose, the snowflakes may turn out different. The methods and technologies for making snowflakes differ, but as a result, homemade decorations turn out to be very cute. They are easy to decorate windows, assembly hall walls, doors, boards.

Paper diorama

A diorama involves a creative composition in the form of a scene from life. They are usually made by craftsmen. Why not try the students, together with the teacher, to create a beautiful piece of work that will decorate a table or windowsill? For a diorama you will need cardboard, paper, colored paints or markers, and plasticine. Make a background out of cardboard that can be decorated in any theme. Next, from plasticine, for example, you can make products in the form of New Year's characters. To make the diorama look original, frame it with LED garlands and tinsel. Do not use candles as this is extremely unsafe given the amount of cardboard and paper.

Carved snowflakes design

Of course, professional designers do not create snowflake templates to decorate a classroom, office or apartment. However, on the Internet you can find many photos and pictures for crafts. Using such templates, you can quickly cut out snowflakes, both flat and three-dimensional, which can be used as Christmas tree decorations. Here are some of them:

Invitation for friends and parents

As you know, parents often attend children's parties at school. That is why children, in anticipation of a joyful celebration, rush to invite their loved ones in advance. To make the moment pleasant and joyful, it is better to create beautiful invitations. To do this, you can traditionally use paper (cardboard) and felt-tip pens or paints. The result is a pretty sweet invitation with a lot of soul. However, if you want to surprise your parents, make voluminous invitations. Use small cones, twigs, dry leaves and other decorative elements. Watch a video on how to make an original invitation to a children's event at school during a class session:

Christmas tree on the wall made of paper

Christmas trees are the most popular attribute of the New Year. If the main elegant beauty in the school, as a rule, stands in the corridor or assembly hall, then in the classroom you will have to be content with small decorative options. You can make an original Christmas tree out of paper and cardboard, which, due to its flat shape, can be easily attached to the wall. In addition, this craft can easily be used to make an advent calendar with ball pockets that will be surprises for students.

Gift bags

If it is customary at your school to congratulate classmates, teachers and administration, you can make an original version of the decor - bags with gifts. To make them you will need a piece of fabric and thick rope. Ready bags with gifts can be hung on the backs of chairs, a Christmas tree, a board and other places. The main thing is to write the recipient who will receive the gift. To do this, you can make a tag on the bag.

Snowmen made from socks

Have you ever made snowmen out of socks? If not, then it urgently needs to be corrected. Such crafts will perfectly complement window sills, tables, bedside tables and other flat surfaces. To create, you will need white pairs of socks and some material to imitate snow (flour, semolina, salt, etc.). You can even organize a competition for the best snowman made from socks, and collect all the resulting toys into a New Year’s collection for the school museum.

Photozone

You can set up a photo zone next to the board. Surely parents will want to capture their child on such an important day. It is worth checking in advance that the corner is well lit and unnecessary objects do not fall into the frame.

A pre-prepared chair or a beautiful bench will allow you to create a beautifully composed shot of the child together with his parents or teacher. By placing balloons or an inscription with the current year in the frame, you can save those viewing the photo from having to remember the dates later.

New Year's ideas for school windows

Stickers in the same style

Stickers are an elementary and beautiful option for decorating windows. You can easily buy them in a store and all that remains is to stick them on the windows. But don’t neglect decorating window openings and glass, because they are the first thing that attracts attention and help fill the room with the appropriate New Year’s atmosphere.

Vertical paper garlands on threads

Everyone is already tired of banal garlands that stretch along the walls and wrap around the Christmas tree. But vertical decorations look original and attractive. You don’t need to do anything extraordinary to create them; just attach one end of the garland to the top of the window frame using double-sided tape, and let go of the other end.

“Snow” spraying using synthetic snow spray

Artificial snow is an excellent savior for decorating both school classrooms and home rooms. It's easy to create a New Year's atmosphere with it. Snow is sprayed not only on the windows, but also on the surface of other furniture elements or even the Christmas tree.

Christmas trees made from scrap materials

The main symbol of the New Year is the Christmas tree, but not everyone has the opportunity to purchase one. Therefore, you can make an original Christmas tree yourself.

As the base of the tree, you can take thick cardboard rolled into a cone or a plastic bottle. Craft stores also sell special foam blanks.

With the help of a base, a glue gun and your imagination, you will get an exclusive Christmas tree that will be an excellent decoration for an apartment, office, or a craft for the New Year in the kindergarten.

To decorate the base you can use:

  • Sweets (such a Christmas tree will turn out not only beautiful, but also tasty);
  • Paper, felt;
  • Coffee beans (looks stylish and brings a pleasant aroma to the room);
  • Harness, threads (Christmas tree in eco style);
  • Tinsel.

Ceiling decoration for the New Year

Large size finished paper decorations

If you manage to make large crafts with your own hands from paper, cardboard, thread, etc., then you will not have any problems with decorating the classroom. Volumetric felt balls that are attached to the ceiling with double-sided tape or a stapler look especially beautiful. You can make beautiful snowflakes from paper that will delight both students and teachers. By the way, here is an excellent template for cutting out a three-dimensional snowflake:

Threads or ribbons with figures

Ordinary tinsel and fluffy threads can be independent elements of the decor of a school classroom, a children's group in the garden, a home living room and other places. Can gather several ribbons or threads together, weave them into a braid and attach them to the ceiling. And so that they don’t look empty, hang a figurine or a beautiful Christmas tree toy on the other end of the thread.

Carnival masks as classroom decoration

Carnival masks can be a great classroom decoration. No, you don't need to wear them. Attach the mask to a shiny thread or ribbon and hang it at a distance of about a meter from the ceiling. This way you will be able to fill the free space of the room and decorate your office in an original way for the New Year's celebration.

Balloons

Bright bundles in children’s hands on the ruler and above the chairs look really elegant. In the list of ideas for class decorations for September 1, this option is one of the first places as simple and budget-friendly.

First-graders can also include balloons in their classroom decoration for September 1, but in the form of sculptural forms and compositions:

  • secure as decoration around the board;
  • place in the photo zone in the form of a figure or a bouquet;
  • Place it at the front door in the form of an arch.

Thematic elements will add originality to the composition - balls with inscriptions (including those made to order or independently) or in the form of curly letters and numbers.

Flowers and figures using the twisting technique (modeling from long balls) are suitable for decorating the walls of the hall, the edge of the stage or the curtains of the office. After the celebration, inflatable toys can be given to children.

Photographers are categorically against the use of balloons:

  • the balls covering the overhead lighting distort the complexion of faces and cast glare on light-colored clothes;
  • a panorama from above becomes impossible - large objects block children's heads;
  • The face of one of the children will inevitably be covered with ribbons, and for a particular family the picture will be ruined.

There is no need to completely abandon the idea of balloons. If children agree to release helium-filled bundles at an open line, the cameraman will have the opportunity to take beautiful shots for a future film about their school years. The main thing is that the presenter plays with the idea and gives a command for synchronized action.

Corridor decoration

School corridors, as a rule, are decorated discreetly but beautifully. The main emphasis is on staircase railings, glass, and walls. If your class has been assigned to decorate the hallway, then choose themed toys and figurines related to the symbol of 2022.

New Year's glass

Decorate the glass using themed stickers, paper figures and snowflakes, and artificial snow. If you are decorating the central corridor, then you can hang a large and beautiful Christmas wreath in the middle of the window.

Teacher's table

Usually the teacher places a flower vase on the table. This solution has two serious disadvantages. If you put everything that the children brought into it, the bouquet in the photo will look untidy, glare from the flash due to the film.

Choosing just one bouquet can cause feelings of resentment in kids prone to jealousy. If you want to put fresh flowers on the table, you need to bring them in advance. The exception is one bouquet donated from the entire class or those congratulating graduates at the same line.

Additionally, the teacher’s desk can be decorated for the first of September:

  • a composition of autumn leaves and fruits, a bouquet of rowan;
  • impressively arranged school supplies;
  • themed crafts made from pencils, rulers and corrugated paper.

Decoration of the assembly hall

In the assembly hall, as a rule, the stage and walls are decorated. In addition, this is the location where the New Year tree is most often placed. Therefore, the decorations should be made in the same style as its decor. You can string garlands from the top of the tree to the walls, and you can hang homemade decorations from schoolchildren on strings on the garlands themselves.

Snowmen made of threads and balls

An easy craft that is most often done in winter during crafts and crafts classes. Making a snowman is very simple. You need to dip the threads into PVC glue and let them soak. After this, inflate the balloon and lubricate it with Vaseline. Wrap the balls with glue threads, let them dry a little, and then burst the ball inside the structure.

Bottle bells

For the bells you need to collect several plastic bottles. Size doesn't matter. Step back about 10-15 centimeters from the neck and cut off the bottle. The lower part can be thrown away, and the upper part produces an almost finished bell. It can be wrapped in thread, painted with gouache or decorated the way you want.

Desks

When decorating desks, you should not be overzealous. Any closed boxes with gifts will distract children, balloons folded in the shape of flowers will inevitably be unraveled or burst by someone, large compositions will obscure faces in the photographs. It is also necessary to take into account that bulky bouquets will lie on the tables for most of the special day - everything else will most likely fall over from time to time.

In order not to irritate children, planned gifts from sponsors, parents or local administration should be placed in transparent boxes or envelopes. Realizing that there are only pencils or notebooks in the box, the children will calm down. The desks themselves can be decorated with festive stickers or paper “pyramids”. To prevent the design from ending up on the floor, you should secure it with tape. If places for children have been chosen in advance, you can write names on fancy signs.

Wall newspapers

It became customary to refer to factory posters with thematic illustrations and poems as wall newspapers. For the holiday, you can remember that this is, first of all, creativity. Older children can assemble this decoration on their own by doing a little “homework” the day before:

  • choose a personal photo from your summer adventures;
  • print with a thematic frame or send the file to the person in charge;
  • add a couple of lines of congratulations or a poem.

The person responsible for the wall newspaper will only have to make a header (glue on the printed letters), cut the segments and assemble them into a collage, and decorate the free space. Using a sponge with paint or even hairspray with glitter can do this for a few minutes.

A wall newspaper for first grade is rarely made, although it can also be used for educational purposes. A collage of photos of teachers who will teach lessons, their names and patronymics, combined with light decor and short congratulations or humorous rhymes, will help children remember the teachers. A slight dose of creativity in photographs will also remove fear of strangers and show the sense of humor and “humanity” of teachers.

A wall newspaper can also be thematic - dedicated to an important issue:

  • declared year in the country or region (music, literature, theater);
  • native land, environmental protection;
  • clubs and sections that operate at school.
  • national traditions (for multinational regions).

In the latter case, the wall newspaper itself can be made bilingual - the inscriptions can be written in two languages. The main condition, whatever the topic, is positivity and a festive mood.
