Corporate event “Carnival night with the Bremen Town Musicians”
The event is very interesting when the plot is based on some old film. Here is a parody scenario for “Carnival Night”. This wonderful and eternally youthful comedy will present guests with the humorous character Ogurtsov. And from “The Bremen Town Musicians” the song of the robber will be taken. After everyone has gathered at the common table, the leader announces the reason for the meeting. He can just be portrayed by the famous Ogurtsov from the film. The presenter's speech in itself should be an example of a humorous speech.
Invitations
To get your guests into the atmosphere of the upcoming party in advance, make invitations in a carnival style. If time is short, an elegant card with monograms and a themed print or a card in the shape of a mask, decorated with beads and rhinestones, will do. Original invitation:
- Using a photo editor, overlay a picture of Venetian lace with an image of a carnival mask in a contrasting color. Or buy “openwork” paper and draw a mask on top;
- print in the required format
. On the back side with a marker, draw monograms along the edge or decorate with real lace, write text in the center;
- assemble a fan according to any MK you like
(there are many simple options online, taking into account that the fan can be fully opened and the text can be read). Fold, tie with ribbon, decorate with feather.
Ogurtsov's speech at the beginning of the party (first toast)
“Comrades! The scenario for the 2016 New Year's corporate party, drawn up by the responsible persons of our responsible team, is a project approved by management from above, which we, in turn, undertake to strictly implement with full responsibility. And we won’t allow everyone who allows themselves to shy away from doing it... That is, to evade being forced... Well, in general, we won’t allow everyone to allow themselves to do so! And away with slander and evasion from the realities of the New Year holiday!”
From behind, one of Ogurtsov’s assistants makes funny faces as he speaks, makes horns at him and sticks out his tongue. At this point in his speech, he inserts his word: “Down with slander and evasion from the realities of the New Year holiday! Pour it!” - Everyone pours and clinks glasses. Ogurtsov runs between the tables, snatches glasses from the guests, puts them on the table and demands attention. Then he waves and drinks with everyone else.

Two people in goat and goat outfits burst into the hall, they laugh and push each other, clearly tipsy. Ogurtsov points his finger in their direction and angrily continues:

How unpleasant it is to tell you, but in the last transition period from December to January, the scenario for the New Year’s corporate event “Year of the Goat” was carried out in the most disgusting way. And this must be accepted and appropriate conclusions drawn. And so that the current event does not repeat the previous scenario of the New Year’s corporate party, I propose to cancel the Year of the Goat! And we’ll have enough of all kinds of goats and camels! Enough! (he hits the table with his fist)
Today we have not gathered here to make fools of ourselves and play around with Vanek! The scenario for holding a New Year's corporate party, which, according to the plan approved from above, is held annually within the walls of our office, is a serious and responsible matter. And I must say this with full responsibility, there is no place for Vankas here. Yes! And we will not allow them to lie here and distract us with their nonsense. We had a whole year for this. And there will be another whole year. But after.
And now we must open the script for the New Year’s corporate party, distribute roles among the responsible persons and carry it out in accordance with the written and approved plan, for which the responsible person must also be responsible in accordance with the staff drinking schedule approved by the management... “Therefore, the first point of the event will be the election of a responsible person to the position... Santa Claus. You should also choose a granddaughter, Snegurochka, for DM (read further as “Santa Claus”). Therefore, I propose that it is I, as the most responsible and serious comrade in our frivolous team, who leads the New Year’s corporate party 2021. By the way, the script urgently needs to be rewritten - this is some kind of disgrace, not an event...”
The assistant hugs Ogurtsov by the shoulders, assents to him and, whispering to each other, leads him away.
Menu, serving
The buffet menu for a carnival-themed party is ideal because... guests expect show and entertainment from such an event, not gastronomic delights. If seating is provided for everyone, include light salads, beef, chicken in the menu
. You can’t do without fish, seafood, an abundance of fruits and fresh vegetables, sliced cheese and risotto.
The Venetians' favorite desserts are tiramisu and dry vanilla cookies; any Italian delicacies (parfait, panna cotta, caprese) are appropriate. Among the drinks, light wines and champagne are in favor, but here it is better to rely on the taste of the guests
. The presentation matches the decoration - porcelain, crystal, candles, bouquets in vases, tables covered with satin tablecloths, decorated with feathers and fans.
The original presentation is an imitation of shopping stalls, of which there are an insane number at the carnival! They sell pies and cookies, caramel apples, meat and sweet rolls, sandwiches, nuts, dried fruits and other bulk snacks in paper cones. All you need to do is cover the boxes with bright paper to arrange the dishes in several levels, like on a counter. Guests will select their own snacks and pour drinks to their liking (buy disposable, stylized tableware).
With humor - put a board like near a cafe, write: “Shopkeepers are people too, and today they are resting
. Please pay honestly for the goods." Price tags on cards in front of some dishes (taking into account the customs of the company):

Exit of Santa Claus
A disheveled young man flies into his place - it was he who was appointed by Santa Claus.
"Failure! Complete failure! The Santa Claus costume was stolen, the Snow Maiden from the theater mixed up the offices and is entertaining the neighboring New Year’s corporate party 2021 with her jokes, the script for our event was stolen by this psycho Ogurtsov... In short, a complete failure!”
An elderly lady tries to calm down a young man:
- Well, maybe all is not lost yet? After all, we had a cool scenario for the New Year’s corporate party?
- Cool...
- Well, let's have fun again - with Santa Claus and his costume. Dress up in what you have!
They open a box labeled “carnival costumes” and take out a variety of wardrobe items, dividing them as the characters in the comedy film “Wedding in Malinovka” did: “this is for you, this is always for you, and this is for me.” As a result, Santa Claus becomes like a gypsy, and the lady looks like a boy rapper in a cap or bandana, saggy pants, a wide sweatshirt and sneakers. The rapper has only an inscription from Father Frost on his chest (on the sweatshirt in English letters), and the gypsy from Snegurochka has a short sheepskin coat with a braid sewn to the collar. “Father Frost” the rapper looks at “Snow Maiden” the gypsy and both laugh together.
“Well, let’s start improvising? And even if we had a cool scenario for the New Year’s corporate party, the holiday would be even better!”
The last straw in the decoration of the hall is a huge tear-off calendar with a piece of paper depicting a goat with a Santa Claus hat with the inscription “2015”.
Decor
First, think about the scenario of a carnival party, because... entertainment largely influences the choice of meeting place. If it is a friendly holiday and a modest budget, the area of the apartment is enough. For a luxurious event with artists, caterers, and a ball, a hall decorated in classic, Renaissance, and Baroque styles is ideal.
If the weather cooperates, you can have a party outdoors, because carnivals take place outside
. Bright lanterns, colorful garlands, several tents or tables imitating fortune-telling rooms, game pavilions and mobile trading benches - ready!
Any color scheme is appropriate, but it is advisable to generously add gold, sparkle, and radiance. If you use all the colors of the rainbow, you will get a colorful, informal atmosphere. A stylish ambience is achieved thanks to a tandem of two or three contrasting shades.
For decoration in carnival style you will need
:
- brocade, satin, satin
- any textile of glossy texture for draping walls, furniture, decorating compositions, curtains with ribbons;
- electric garlands, decorated candles, table lamps in lampshades with fringe

The lighting should be bright, but diffused - direct light destroys the aura of mystery and romance inherent in the carnival. Decorate the chandeliers if they do not fit into the surroundings. Hang paper lanterns.
- Christmas tree bows, bells, and balls covered with glitter from the dollar store will fill the room with a festive glow and won’t break the budget;
- foil curtains, rain, curtains made of beads in doorways, on parts of the walls, on the backs of chairs

- vases, figurines of angels, candlesticks, large glasses and other containers. Luxuriously fancy Venetian glass, as if specially created for decorating a carnival-style party! Place multi-colored beads, Christmas tree beads, confetti, gold-painted curly pasta in transparent containers;
- decorative twigs, feathers instead of fresh flowers
(it’s February). This is a traditional technique, but if you want, you can use fresh flowers (roses, lilies) or fabric buds;
- large masks on walls, backs of chairs, doors and small ones anywhere as elements of a bouquet, drawings on napkins, placed on vases, candles;
For realism, hang landscapes of Venice here and there: St. Mark's Square, picturesque cramped streets, canals with slowly floating gondolas, people in carnival costumes.

- this is the second most important attribute of the Italian carnival;
- theatrical glove puppets, commedia dell'arte characters, real or cardboard puppets
(there is MK online, it's easy) - they are sure to be “present” at the carnival, entertaining guests with funny scenes;
- colorful or shiny gold balloons.
Butterflies, fans, caps, colorful roundels or traditional rhombuses (Harlequin) collected in garlands. This simple decor will saturate the space with color, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Musical greeting from improvised Father Frost and Snow Maiden
The gypsy woman begins to sing to the soundtrack from the cartoon “The Bremen Town Musicians”; between her lines the rapper inserts his “poems”:
- They say we are bullshit...
- Stunt beeches, hook hands, put them in your trousers!
- How can the earth bear us?..
— And without “la-la,” Zola also said that there is a lot of evil in the world. Down with the goat! (tears off a sheet of the calendar - a new sheet appears, where a monkey is drawn and the inscription “2016”).
— Give us the calendar, we didn’t come here in vain!
“It was not for nothing that we walked across the seas, through the fields, wearing our outfits...
- Also Zola... (The Snow Maiden laughs, covers her mouth with her hand, tries to shake the “presumptuous rapper” by the shoulder, but he freaks out and shakes his hand off his shoulder)
- Do not make me angry! Otherwise, you'll get into trouble, you aphid! (The gypsy woman covers the rapper’s mouth, making frightened eyes and looking back at Ogurtsov entering the hall in an embrace with the lecturer).
Ogurtsov's appearance with the lecturer
The couple should represent an ironic dissonance - a short, plump Ogurtsov and a skinny, tall professor. The lecturer is clearly in a state of good drinking. He smiles widely, sways and nods contentedly to his interlocutor and to each guest individually. Moreover, his glasses should fall off his nose every now and then. Ogurtsov doesn’t notice anything and continues to indignantly tell the lecturer:
“Here they have some kind of stupid scenario for the New Year’s corporate party 2016. “Cool” they call it. I, you know, read it from cover to cover - nothing but nonsense! No scientific approach, no cognitive activity, no educational moments, no lectures, no smart thoughts! Here I have reworked this scenario for the New Year’s corporate party 2021 “cool”, made it more serious, meeting the requirements of the real event. And you should support me in this matter and give a lecture on the topic “Is there life on Mars?”
Suits
Italian carnivals are so spectacular largely due to the magnificent costumes. But for a party, sewing or renting any of them is quite a significant expense. If you don’t want to burden your guests, perhaps a “lighter” option is for you - elegant evening wear and masks that cover only the eyes.
Carnival masks are easy to make with your own hands from scrap materials, decorated with braid, beads, and feathers. Fastening with an elastic band or stick holder. For a mask that completely covers the face, a plaster bandage or papier-mâché is suitable; there is MK online.
A luxurious holiday requires more careful preparation
. A mask and clothes for a carnival-style party are a single image. All costumes have a history, character and a certain message. Popular costumes at the Venice Carnival:
- Bauta is a white-faced ghost in a black cocked hat and the same black robe;
- Doctor Plague with a creepy long beak;
- Gatto - cats. One symbolizes trickery, the second is predatory - a fighter against plague rats (appeared among the characters after the epidemic, in gratitude for their help);
- The Venetian lady is an elegant image of a socialite;
- Volto is an ordinary human face, a citizen;
- Jesters in caps with bells, good Joker and evil Mattachino;
- Moretta is a dark-skinned girl, a servant. Symbolizes female humility, because in this costume, the Venetian lady had to remain silent (the escutcheon has no fastening; it is held in the mouth by a pin on the reverse side);
- A Turk in a comically huge turban appeared in honor of the victory over the Ottomans;
- Paired carnival costumes of spouses, and since the 1800s everyone was allowed to wear them, regardless of the official status of the lovers. Identical style, color design;
- Commedia dell'arte characters (Harlequin, Columbina, Brighella, Tartaglia, etc.).
When choosing clothes for a carnival party, do not forget about the “little things” - hairstyle, makeup, gloves, hat, fan and other accessories will make the look complete.
