"Secret Santa"

Our company has a tradition that has been maintained for several years and is being implemented in every open office or dedicated center (regional division). On the eve of the New Year, we always hold a Secret Santa ceremony. The entire process is automated (the program is built into the company’s corporate portal) and includes not only information about the approximate price of the gift, but also the wishes of the employees. From this list, the CEO randomly selects one and executes it. This could be a trip with the family to warm countries, a new laptop, an interesting gadget, etc. The program randomly divides the rest of the employees into pairs (based on several ranking criteria), and they give each other small gifts.

Well, what would New Year be without a full-fledged Christmas tree in every branch, a decorated office and mountains of tangerines every day! So, preparation for the holiday, due to the large number of different activities in our company, is an extremely busy time.

Both my leader and I love the work of Salvador Dali and his personality in general. A very odious and bright character! As you understand, the creativity of this genius formed the basis of our New Year’s event.

The invitations were written on abstract cards. Everyone was patted down with white-gloved hands upon entering the restaurant - we created a surreal tunnel of hands. The director made himself an artificial white mustache, which he constantly curled. The restaurant hall was decorated with paintings by Salvador Dali - of course, not originals, but it’s a pity! The tree was hung upside down, the tables were placed in a chaotic order. The dishes were placed on them in an unusual way - sushi next to fried potatoes and shish kebab, spaghetti with minced meat next to gourmet seafood. We came up with original cocktails that were named after Dali and his paintings - “My Favorite Gala”, “Persistence of Memory”, “Giraffe on Fire”, “Meditative Rose”.

One of our employees, who sings excellently, was responsible for the musical arrangement. She was dressed strangely - like Zhanna Aguzarova. Everyone present sang her songs. The professionals also taught us to dance Spanish tango, which Dali loved so much.

We tried to create a sense of surrealism throughout - and we succeeded. The employees discussed the holiday for another six months!

The tradition that I would like to talk about first is congratulating the children of employees. Everyone receives their own gift depending on their age: the little ones enjoy soft toys, the older kids collect construction sets, and the older ones often receive technical gadgets, such as music speakers.

The team is our main value, so each employee also receives his own big sweet New Year's gift with personal congratulations from me. Smiles, whispers and the rustling sounds of wrapping paper - the office seems to be transformed.
