Family holidays in Russia. Day of Family, Love and Fidelity

Traditional holidays: let's celebrate together

A strong family takes over its rules from its elders. Customs have been formed over hundreds of years. The relevance of family ties does not become less significant with changes in relations in society. Families get together on the following holidays:

  • Christmas. A real family holiday. Usually the departure is planned in advance, because it is unrealistic to buy tickets the day before. Households gather with older family members, prepare 12 Lenten dishes and celebrate Christmas Eve.
  • Easter. Even the upcoming defense of a project or an important business trip will not prevent you from finding time to be with your family and meet with your loved ones a bright day of hope for resurrection, renewal, and faith in a miracle.
  • Aphorisms from “The Irony of Fate...”, splashes of champagne, a magical night with family - what could be more beautiful than a family New Year?
  • February 23rd is a reminder of important family values - men's day, when it is nice to pay attention to the stronger half of the family.
  • On the eve of spring work, it’s great to pamper yourself during your first trip to the dacha on March 8th . Great mood guaranteed!
  • In May , when spring work is in full swing, it is simply necessary to get together and discuss plans for the summer.

The list goes on for a long time - summer is replete with holidays. There are also special days in the fall. How to conduct them is your choice.

Ideas for family parties. Shall we come up with a holiday?

The unifying moment for the family has always been joint work and joint holidays. And working together to prepare the holidays is the most inspiring and unifying activity! Moreover, if you open the calendar, there is always some holiday on every day. You can take as a basis, say, the family Chemist’s Day, when everyone “chemizes” something tasty, and then it is all eaten at the family table with a choice of the best home-made Mendeleev.

For example, when celebrating Halloween, I gave the command to come up with outfits and a scenario. I’ll say right away: most of the script ended up being spent coming up with outfits, attaching a tail to one of the outfits, and then photographing the fruits of creativity.

We bought two cakes for the table (one with a very Halloween name - “Brownie”), took out candles, made wishes (basically wishes are a list of household appliances that are needed in the family, the only difference is that everyone offers their own order of purchases), We lit the candles, blew and determined by the order of the extinguished candles what we were buying for what.

Both my husband and children liked it so much that they themselves suggested organizing something similar at least twice a month and immediately threw in ideas.

1. Have a “sea party”. At home there are homemade candles with starfish and shells, light them, cook something from sea creatures and organize a competition: who knows the most songs about the sea. Maybe I’ll play in “The Sea Is Troubled, Once…”.

2. My idea is an Italian evening. I still hope to go to Italy (it didn’t work out this year due to technical reasons), and to do something like a ritual. Cook something from the list - pizza, lasagna, tomato and cheese salad, dance to Toto Cutugno, maybe watch an Italian comedy.

3. Pajama party. Just put on your pajamas and spend the afternoon lazing around, throwing pillows and reading books.

This is what my family came up with almost immediately. But if you really dream up how many more interesting holidays you can organize! By the way, the competition to invent holidays is also a small holiday.

You can organize a “fruit party” with preparing fruit salads and asking riddles about fruits. You can organize a Chocolate Day: go with the whole family to a cafe, order hot chocolate for everyone, and in the evening watch some “sweet” movie (the same “Chocolate”). You can organize a Warm Blanket Day: get together, wrap yourself in cozy blankets and read aloud some relevant stories and fairy tales. Or - Balloon Day: buy balloons and launch them into the sky, after making a wish. Also, to get to know each other better, you can organize a Professions Day. Adults will talk about their professions and what they do at work. And the children will share their “professional” dreams. You can also read Mikhalkov’s appropriate poems (“all kinds of mothers are needed, all kinds of mothers are important”)

As a rule, adults are no less satisfied and joyful after such holidays than children. And the children are just happy!

Note to the future housewife: we create our own family traditions

Marriage marks not only the beginning of housekeeping and drastic changes. This is a sure signal that the time has come to continue the family traditions and customs established by the parents. At the same time, come up with new ones:

  • celebration of the day of acquaintance;
  • engagement is a special event worthy of a separate celebration;
  • possible family holidays, of course, are headed by the wedding date - first count the months, then the years and decades;
  • the day of the first quarrel deserves to go down in family history - who said that only cultural celebrations should be revered? It's powerful to celebrate something beyond the ordinary.

Day of Family, Love and Fidelity

This holiday was established in Russia quite recently, in 2008. What date is Family, Love and Fidelity Day? It is celebrated in our country on the eighth of July. Family Day is celebrated all over the world. It was established in 1995 and is celebrated on the fifteenth of May.

The history of this holiday is as follows: the patrons of family and marriage in Orthodoxy are the Murom prince Peter and his wife Fevronia. They lived in the eighth century. Peter, suffering from leprosy, received a sign in a dream that the virgin Fevronia would heal him. And so it happened. They got married, but suffered long persecutions. However, the couple survived this together and returned safely to Murom. They died on the same day - the eighth of July according to the new calendar. So, now you know what date the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity is, and why it is celebrated on this day.

How to make a family calendar

Traditions are not always formed by the older generation. This means that it is up to you to lay the foundations. How to do it:

  • remember and discuss significant dates and events with your parents (grandparents);
  • write yourself a reminder - a calendar in which you don’t forget to indicate the day of your baby’s first step, or why your mother gives her sister a bouquet of tulips for her birthday - this can be important;
  • After the “register” of celebrations and customs has been made, it is worth sending it out to everyone involved for review - what if something is missing?

Favorite holiday: birthday

If you are celebrating a family birthday, then the birthday person should be the center of attention from the moment he wakes up. Especially if it's a child's birthday. Decorate the hero of the occasion's room with congratulatory posters and balloons. If it is the birthday of your beloved wife, grandmother or daughter, flowers would be appropriate.

Take the decoration of your apartment especially seriously if one of your household members is celebrating an anniversary. Take the time to prepare a large wall newspaper; you can make it in a solemn or humorous tone. It will definitely attract the attention of guests and relieve you of the need to entertain those who come to the party first. For this purpose, you can leave a little free space on the wall newspaper, which the guests themselves will have to fill. Let it be a page of congratulations or a humorous note on the topic “But he (she) is what (what) ...”, in which guests should list 3 - 5 qualities of the hero of the day.

The birthday boy should be at the center of the festive program. As a first entertainment, you can ask the guests, while the table is being set, to cut out paper silhouettes of gifts and wishes (house, car, heart, dress, shoes, etc.), later you can tie them to a thread and ask the birthday person, blindfolded, to cut something for himself. something from the “congratulations rope”. Writing a humorous congratulatory telegram will also be interesting. At the same time, its text is compiled in advance, and then all qualitative (denoting one or another quality of an object or person) adjectives are removed from it. After which, all participants in the celebration take turns calling out adjectives, which the presenter inserts into the missing places and reads out the resulting text.

From a good city, good breed

Continuity of generations is important. If you manage to remain faithful to your father’s house, why not make your native places part of your customs:

  • It’s easy to enrich your own history - find connections between city attractions and your family;
  • make a short film about the contribution your family (and maybe you yourself!) made to the development of the city.

The deeper the knowledge about one’s roots, the stronger the ties that bind loved ones. Preserving family values and traditions is rewarding work. Even if your homeland is where poetry is coal or metal, there will still be something to talk about. Even if you have not a pen at hand, but a keyboard, do not forget to record the moments of life - they are priceless and will be dear to your descendants.

Christmas

When celebrating Christmas, you must tell your children why it is celebrated, who God is, and why.

People of different religions celebrate Christmas on different days, and some do not celebrate it at all.

Many families of my friends celebrate two Christmases, Catholic and Orthodox. It’s very convenient: Catholic Christmas is celebrated with the wife’s parents, and for Orthodox Christmas they gather with the husband’s parents.

Caroling is a very interesting activity for children at Christmas. You can find ditties and songs on the Internet, dress up the children and walk with them around the neighbors. Every child will be pleased to receive sweets. And the process itself, visiting neighbors is very exciting.

Fortune telling at Christmas is a very interesting activity that transcends ages. This way you can have a pleasant time with both your friends and daughters.

Signs

  • If a woman enters the house first on Christmas Day, the women in the house will be sick all year long. (The same goes for Easter and the Introduction.)
  • On Christmas Day, at midnight, drink holy water in small sips, thinking about your most cherished desire! Go to bed in silence, thinking about your wish and it will certainly come true.

The first pancake is not lumpy: we arrange family gatherings

Time is inexorable. It takes away loved ones, alienates relatives. This cannot be allowed! If your family is separated by thousands of kilometers, still look for opportunities to get together.

Disturb your brothers and sisters, invite everyone to your beloved grandmother’s anniversary. Autocracy is a thing of history, but sometimes it doesn’t hurt to be an empress in your own family.

For many centuries, the development of society was based on foundations inherited from previous generations. Moral principles were established, community traditions and legends were born. And there is still nothing more important and sacred than family ties.
