HR Day in Russia - historical background
There are HR specialists at every enterprise. Even if the company is very small, it has a person who performs the functions of the HR department, even part-time. Agree, it’s a shame that necessary and important specialists do not have their own official holiday.
Participants in the All-Russian Personnel Congress, which took place at the end of May 2005, proposed rectifying the situation. They considered that the best candidate for “Personnel Officer’s Day” was the date of publication of the decree of the Government of the Russian Empire, which regulated the relations between the owners of industrial enterprises and their hired workers. It was May 24, 1835 . As you can see, personnel management in Russia originated almost two centuries ago. We can say that supporters of personnel classics and admirers of professional history prefer to celebrate May 24, Personnel Officer’s Day.
Another important event occurred on October 12, 1918 - the People's Commissariat of Justice approved instructions on the organization of the Soviet police. What does HR have to do with it, you ask? The whole point is that it was under the police that the first personnel departments in the young Soviet state appeared. So, on October 12, personnel officer’s day is celebrated mainly by personnel employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
What to gift?
Little things that can decorate a HR manager’s workplace:
- desk calendar with bright photographs of different countries;
- new sign for office door;
- foot hammock , allowing you to sit at your office desk with maximum comfort;
- personalized paperweight made of stone, marble or glass, decorated with a funny inscription (“A genius thinks”, “Big Boss” or “Best employee”);
- miniature marker board for writing;
- mini table fan ; book support;
- figurine depicting a representative person or some animal (it’s good if it’s an owl or an owl - symbols of intelligence and wisdom).
A small portrait of a HR specialist, which will fill the space above the desktop, will also be an original gift. If your employee is modest, give him a landscape or still life instead of a portrait. A small painting will make the office environment cozy.
Surely your friend's HR manager hopes that his boss will notice his hard work and offer him a higher position.
Help bring the cherished moment closer: give a gift that will ensure rapid movement up the career ladder.
Great surprises for an HR manager looking for a promotion:
- personalized diary in wooden binding;
- an elite pen from a well-known company;
- leather business card holder or wallet;
- portfolio folder made of genuine leather;
- stylish wristwatches;
- briefcase for working documentation.
A person who is just starting his professional journey in the personnel department, but wants to achieve success, can subscribe to a specialized magazine and give it as a gift. A young specialist will discover a lot of new things by regularly reading the magazines “Personnel Manager” or “Personnel Manager”.
Whom to congratulate
It would seem like an excellent solution: one profession has two holiday dates at once. But the story of the “multi-part” holiday does not end there.
A common belief is that HR day and HR day are one and the same. However, in practice everything is even more interesting!
Technological progress does not stop; it changes the economy, industry and other aspects of our lives. Including HR technologies. New requests and new specialties are emerging in this area. People like HR are recruiters or headhunters. They also have a professional day - the third Saturday in September. As you can see, the workers are personnel, but the holiday is separate.
And at some enterprises, HR officers are even honored on the day the company is founded or the local HR service is established. In short, there are many reasons to congratulate valuable employees. Here is just an approximate list of specialists who are worth remembering when HR Day is celebrated:
