Trade and service specialists provide preparation, implementation and support for sales of goods and services. Employees of housing and communal services (HCS) provide services in populated areas for electricity and water supply, elevators, ventilation, repair buildings, communications, clean premises and surrounding areas, and also carry out sanitary and epidemiological treatment. This service industry is one of the most extensive, employing millions of employees throughout Russia. Therefore, the Day of Trade, Consumer Services and Housing and Communal Services Workers is celebrated by a significant part of the country’s residents.
The role of trade and commercial relations in the life of the state
Since the emergence of Ancient Rus', trade has been an important component of the country’s economic life and even political relations, and with the development of this area, traders entered the circle of the most respected and wealthy citizens. It is no coincidence that the expression “Trade is the engine of progress” has long passed from the sphere of trade and commercial relations into ordinary life. By the way, this famous statement supposedly belongs to the entrepreneur Ludwig Metzel , who in 1878 formed the first advertising agency in Russia.
Today, the sales profession is also included in the list of the most in demand, because the population’s needs for goods and services are only increasing every year. Moreover, if in the Middle Ages it was mainly men who were engaged in this area of activity, now there is a clear preponderance towards representatives of the fair half of humanity.
