To create a stencil we will need:

1. First, you should decide what you want to see on the cover of your notebook?

You can draw the picture yourself or find any picture or photograph on the Internet.

Let's say, old Mickey Mouse. And to make things easier, let's make it black and white.

2. Having decided on the picture, open the image in Photoshop, find the tab “Image” - “Correction” - “Isohelium”. This is necessary in order to convert a color image to high-contrast black and white. And using the brightness threshold slider we adjust the pattern.

3. Next, print two copies of the image. Why two? The first is for the white layer, the second is for the black. If you decide to make a color drawing, then for each color layer you will need a separate copy. In our case, the drawing is black and white, so there are only two printouts.

4. For the first, white layer, cut out the pattern exactly along the contour. At the same time, if you are going to then apply a dark image to, say, a black cover, then cutting out the outline costs a little more than the drawing itself. This is necessary so that later the dark drawing does not merge with the color of the cover. And for the cutting itself, you should use a stationery knife.

5. Next, cut out the second, black layer. In other words, we remove everything black from the picture. All details. At the same time, do not forget to leave jumpers on which small stencils are attached. Let’s say right away that this work is painstaking and requires patience.

6. As a result, we got two stencils for two layers - black and white. Before applying a design to Moleskine, it is recommended to first check what happened. Don’t be afraid to smear the brand new stencils with paint, they can be reused, and not just once. So, let's choose a place where we can test our art. It is best, of course, to do this somewhere outside - not indoors. But, of course, not on the walls of public buildings, but on a simple sheet of paper. Personally, I chose the backyard at my work, no one was against it. By the way, it is advisable to wear rubber gloves and a respirator - after all, we are working with paint.

7. Using tape, attach the stencil for the first, white layer and paint.

8. After the white layer has dried a little, remove the stencil and attach stencil No. 2 for black to the resulting white image. Let's paint it over.

9. If everything is in order - the drawing turned out as expected, then we can transfer the image to the cover of your Moleskine notebook. It turns out something like this:
