What bouquet to give to the teacher on September 1: ideas for original bouquets

Very soon teachers will celebrate their professional holiday - Teacher's Day. Traditionally, mentors are presented with gifts and flowers as a sign of respect and gratitude for their difficult work. In this article we will tell you what flowers are best to give for Teacher's Day, how to make an unusual bouquet (from sweets, fruits, stationery, etc.) and please your favorite teachers.

Floral etiquette

Presenting a bouquet to a teacher on September 1 is a long-standing tradition that has been observed for more than 30 years.

When choosing plants, consider the following points:

  • Size. It is inconvenient for a first grader to hold a bouquet that is too heavy and large in his hands. Long flowers are also not suitable; it is better to take a small (up to 27 cm in diameter) bouquet. It is better to choose a gift together with the student so that he can adequately assess his strength.
  • Color spectrum. September 1 is associated with autumn, so choose a bouquet with yellow, red or orange shades. Dahlias or sunflowers are suitable for this.
  • Safety. Even unusual bouquets are made taking this parameter into account. Some parents forget about this, resulting in children being injured on the first day of school. Sometimes florists use rigid design elements to decorate a bouquet. For example, pencils, butterflies or small wooden insects on sharp heels are inserted there. It is better to refuse this if the child is not very careful, otherwise he will prick himself or stumble upon them.
  • Package. On September 1, the child will hold the flowers for 1.5–2 hours while the ceremonial part is going on, so the material is also comfortable. Corrugation stains your hands, and a bouquet with sisal is prickly, so it’s better to touch the paper before purchasing.

Bell with sweets

Sweet design has become a worthy competitor to classical floristry, increasingly leaving it behind the flag. A gift arrangement that is not only beautiful, but also delicious is doubly pleasant. A hand-made bell bouquet looks interesting; it fits perfectly with the September 1st theme. A sweet gift is made from scrap materials using a technique accessible to every needlewoman.

You will need:

  • plastic bottle, volume 1.5 l;
  • expanded polystyrene;
  • narrow cardboard sleeve;
  • golden, red and yellow corrugated paper;
  • satin ribbon;
  • decorative beads, lace braid;
  • artificial greenery;
  • wrapped sweets;
  • scissors, heat gun, wire.

Cut off the bottom and narrow part of the neck of the bottle.

We apply the wide part of the workpiece to the polystyrene foam and cut out a circle, holding the knife at an angle. The result should be a truncated cone.

We make a handle from a cardboard sleeve and polystyrene foam.

We glue all parts of the product using a hot-melt gun or “Moment”.

We decorate the future bell with golden corrugated paper.

We decorate the handle with a satin ribbon, braid and strings of beads.

We form paper flower buds in which the candies will “hide”. The master class shows how to make roses and chrysanthemums, but you can try other options at your discretion.

The principle of creating buds with a sweet “secret” is the same: the candy is attached to floral wire and wrapped in corrugated paper. This is the core of the product. Then the petals of the desired shape are cut out and secured around with thread. We wrap a long strip of green “corrugation” around the bottom of the inflorescences and the wire stem.

We attach the flowers to polystyrene foam and fill the spaces between them with greenery.

What to make a bouquet for September 1st

Everyone wants to give an original bouquet for the holiday, so in an attempt to stand out, parents buy elaborate plants.

There is nothing wrong with exotic plants, but it is better to avoid plants with a strong odor.

Due to close contact, children's eyes begin to water, and they also leave corrosive traces of pollen. The teacher will also not like such a bouquet if the clothes get dirty on the first day. To avoid any difficulties with this, we will consider the main variants of plants that make up original bouquets.

Gladioli

It is very easy to make a beautiful and at the same time neat bouquet from such garden flowers. It is enough to select plants of the same or similar color; sometimes asparagus, fern or dried flowers are added there.

They are combined with asters, roses and different types of cereals. If the flowers are too large, they are shortened to one size.

Dahlias

On September 1, bouquets with these flowers are usually given to young teachers. They last for more than 2 weeks and eventually bloom. They are combined with peonies, roses, hydrangeas and decorative berries. It is better not to use contrasting shades here.

Sunflowers

These flowers make inexpensive and at the same time very bright bouquets. If the parents themselves make it up from what grows in the dacha, then an unusual bouquet can be obtained in just 10–15 minutes.

Sunflowers look good with spikelets, marigolds, and wildflowers.

Asters

There are also quite a lot of such flowers for September 1, but florists still make unusual combinations with them. For example, they are mixed with sunflowers, dahlias, and asparagus. Plants are cut only after they have fully opened, otherwise the bouquets look rather dull.

Gerberas

Such bright flowers are almost always used for compositions because they last a long time and have a rich color. Gerberas are combined with carnations, orchids, callas, roses; there are almost no restrictions here. The photo shows that they mainly create an accent in the bouquet, so other flowers are chosen less bright or of the same rich color.

Edible bouquet ideas

Flowers are considered one of the main symbols of the holiday, but a sweet bouquet or any other edible option has a number of advantages over ordinary plants:

  • Plants get wrinkled quickly, sometimes after being straightened they look stale. This won't happen with edible gifts.
  • Regular bouquets are bought on August 31, because they cannot stand in a vase for a long time. Because of this, there is a rush and even pre-ordered delivery has difficulties. Edible bouquets are bought even a week before the celebration; they are stored for a long time.

  • The food will not have to be placed in a vase, which means the gift will not get lost among other gifts and, most likely, the teacher will take it home.
  • Children and their parents make such gifts for September 1st with their own hands. No special skills are required; it is enough to purchase products and materials for decoration.

Edible gifts are considered more practical; we will look at the main options that are suitable for the first of September.

Fruits and berries

Seasonal and exotic varieties of fruits are collected into one composition, strung on skewers. This bouquet is easy to make with your own hands.

Shelf life varies depending on the ingredients used, but is usually almost 2 weeks.

Advice! To ensure that fruits and berries retain their appearance longer, they are not washed.

For bouquets, apples, pears, melons, pineapples, mangoes, strawberries, blackberries, and cherries are used. Sometimes greens are also added there to prevent gaps from forming.

Fruits and flowers

Another unusual option for the first of September. Such compositions look more festive because lush plants are added to them. The bouquet turns out to be very delicate, but it does not last that long.

Vegetables

This option is used when the child goes to 2nd, 3rd or 4th grade, since it is worth finding out in advance how the teacher will react to such a gift. Lush bouquets are made from seasonal fruits such as carrots, tomatoes, peppers, and are additionally decorated with greenery. If you make a bouquet large, it will become heavy, and a small one looks boring. Therefore, it is worth considering how appropriate it is.

Candies

Another unusual surprise that lasts a long time, looks unusual and does not deteriorate in a vase. True, in order to make a bouquet of sweets, you will have to find out in advance whether the teacher eats sweets.

Some also make compositions from tea, coffee, chocolates, which will also make a unique surprise.

Advice! When choosing a bouquet, you should not stop at one color, since monochrome options look quite boring and quickly get lost among the bright colors.

Even if flowers and products are chosen in approximately the same color scheme, they should be at least slightly different.

Master classes and ideas from natural materials for kindergarten

For small children you need something simpler. Therefore, I suggest using natural material for bouquets. We will look at ideas from pine cones, peanut and pistachio shells, pumpkin seeds, and dried flowers.

From the cones

It turns out that cones are very similar to flowers. Especially if you put unopened things in water. They become saturated with moisture and open up. My child, when he saw these metamorphoses, was simply delighted.

The cones can also be attached to skewers, sushi sticks or toothpicks. To create a round composition, round floral foam balls are used. I made them from regular polyurethane foam.

They come in different diameters. All kinds of plants and materials are stuck into them. You can use both fresh flowers and branches, and any other materials.

A beautiful bouquet when the pine cones are turned with their tips facing forward. It turns out to be a very neat composition. The tips themselves are decorated with beads, ribbons, rhinestones and flowers. They stick well with hot glue.

How do you like this autumn composition? I think it's very original.

The cone also lends itself well to painting. They can be painted with gouache or spray paints. The intensity of the color depends on the number of layers.

dense gouache can also cover up the natural brown tint of the buds.

If you remove the inner branches, the flowers will turn out more open.

Or you can take just one thing and make it the center of the composition.

Another idea from the gifts of the forest. Everything that lies near the trunks and under our feet is used.

Agree, pine cones are an excellent material for creating an autumn bouquet for children in kindergarten.

From pumpkin seeds

Pumpkin seeds can also be used as flower petals.

There are two options for buds. The first is to glue the seeds on paper in several rows. Here is a detailed master class.

The middle can be painted or covered with a piece of colored cotton wool.

You can make daisies like this using plasticine.

Or flowers like this.

Let's take a closer look at how this is done. Rows of pumpkin seeds are inserted into a plasticine ball. You can form different buds and inflorescence options.

Also very interesting, don’t you agree?

From peanut shells

We rarely buy peanuts, but we often pick up shells from friends after men's get-togethers. To make such bouquets for teachers once a year in kindergarten.

You can get whole “hydrangeas” from pistachios.

It is convenient to attach them to plasticine.

It will be easy for children to make these daisies. Younger children can insert petals from the shell into plasticine. And the older ones connect them with hot glue.

Using floral balls (I wrote about them a little higher), you can create the correct spherical shape of a sunflower. Look how organic the coffee beans look. After all, these are all the gifts of autumn.

Whole pistachios and peanuts can be given as gifts. To do this, put them into little bags and decorate them with corrugated paper.

With walnuts

Of course, we won’t ignore walnuts. You can make an autumn topiary from the shells.

Walnut bouquets with whole fruits look very presentable.

You can cover the voids with pieces of napkins.

For fun, you can combine all of the listed natural materials and fruits.

From dried flowers

Dried flowers fit our fall theme very well. They look noble and can be painted. They will complement any composition.

Anything will do - dry herbs, cereals, leaves.

And here the spikelets were painted.

Cotton flowers make the composition very delicate and airy.

More ideas for you.

An interesting frame for a bouquet of branches.

Mix dried flowers and rose leaves.

Golden ears have a very presentable appearance. But you’ll have to go a long way to get the material – to the field. Look for wheat that has not yet been harvested.

Dry grass and leaves combine harmoniously.

I just loved many of the ideas.
