Interesting intellectual games - word puzzles "Anagrams"

Tired of regular quizzes with standard questions and answers? Don’t want to solve boring puzzles and crosswords at the holiday? Invite your guests to play the interesting game “Funny Letters”, and if there are two teams, you can safely organize a team competition.

The host of this competition will have to do significant preparatory work. The main thing is to come up with the sets of letters themselves, from which the guessing words will be composed.

If there are 4 people in teams, then 4 sheets are prepared and the letters are written on both sides so that the player can turn this sheet over and, if necessary, show the desired letter. So, we will have a set of 4 sheets, on which 8 letters will be written, two on each sheet. Now, the main thing is to come up with words that can be made from these letters.

You will need two different sets of these so that each team has its own letters. Moreover, keep in mind that the sign can be used when answering only one side.

Having compiled a list of possible words, we begin to come up with a riddle for them, which the contestants will have to solve. You can make a riddle from two parts: a little abstruse question and a hint explaining it.

The editor of the “This Holiday” portal invites readers to take advantage of our already developed versions of the “Funny Letters” sets.

How is the “Funny Letters” competition held?

So, each team of 4 people receives its own set of letters written on sheets of paper. If you don’t want to bother with the sheets, you can write the letters with a marker on the balls, also on both sides.

The presenter, timing the time, reads out the questions for the first team. Players try to quickly find the answer and line up so that it comes out of the letters they have. It is prohibited to transfer your letters to players or change the terms of the competition. Therefore, players will also have to run around with the letters to line up in the correct order. If the players cannot find the correct answer within 10 seconds, the host gives them a hint. The game “Funny Letters” continues at the speed of a blitz tournament, because the participants need to give the correct solutions faster than their competitors.

In the same way, a quiz is held for the participants of the second team. But their questions will be different. Based on the results of the competition, the time invested by the teams is checked. The winners are the players who add up the correct answers faster than their competitors.

Preparing for the competition

The task of the presenter-organizer is to select pairs of letters in advance and prepare signs for the competition. To compose words, 4 pairs of letters are taken, and you need to be careful that only 1 letter from each pair participates in creating the word (since the plate with letters can only be turned on one side).

Words are composed for both teams separately from different pairs of letters.

When words are composed, definitions need to be found for them. The easiest way is to refer to the description of words on Wikipedia. But since sometimes the explanations of words are too abstruse, prepare tips for the players: clearer explanations of words in simple language.

Outdoor games are the best pastime for children and teenagers during the summer holidays. Games and relay races strengthen children's bodies, develop coordination, lift their spirits, help them master the world around them, and teach them how to work in a team. At picnics, at children's holiday camps, at tourist gatherings - wherever children and young people relax, entertainment where you can move around and compete is always popular.

Only the organizers should remember that for children's games to determine the winners, you need to create the right atmosphere: you need to be able to encourage the winners and encourage the losers to win next time.

Here are collected outdoor and team games for the summer holidays of children of different ages, which give the participants a great boost of energy, unite them and bring into the lives of modern schoolchildren, who spend so much time near the computer, a taste of real noisy children's fun and enthusiasm.

    1. “Friendly Jumpers”

For such competitive entertainment, you need to stock up on a pair of jump ropes or pieces of elastic rope two or three meters long. Invite all possible players to divide into groups of two, three or four participants, depending on the number of guests. Each group becomes a team of synchronized jumpers.

The team that manages to do more team jumps or jump together longer without breaks wins.

    2. An outdoor game for any age “London Bridge”.

This game is good entertainment for holidays and for weekdays. The basic rules are the same as our “stream”, only two circumstances differ. Firstly, the first couple represents “London Bridge” and the couple stands still the entire time the verse is sung. As soon as the verse ends, the children of this couple sharply lower their hands and thereby “catch” a couple of children, at that moment passing under the “London Bridge”. Those who are caught take their place, and the song continues:

“London Bridge is falling, collapsing, Falling, falling down. Who will fix London Bridge, My Fair Miss? We will build a bridge from clay and wood so that it does not fall down. Let's build a bridge from clay and wood, My fair miss. A tree with clay will be washed away by a wave, no matter how hard you work. The tree with clay will be washed away by the wave, My fair miss. Let’s take brick and mortar to build, So that the bridge doesn’t collapse down, Let’s take brick and mortar to build, My fair miss.”

Of course, the presenter needs to sing the song, but it is best to learn the lyrics with the children in advance.

    3. Team game “Merry Centipede”.

Divide the children into several teams (no more than 10 people). We give them ropes/ribbons no shorter than 50 cm with the expectation that one ribbon will fit two pairs of legs.

Explain to children how to tie the legs together: the limbs of the person in front and behind are tied - left to left, right to right.

The first run of the cheerful centipedes should be the simplest: to get to the chair and back without falling or getting tangled.

We complicate the second stage: we put up several obstacles so that the children can get around them.

Third: we put up such obstacles that you have to step over them. Just don’t make them too high - falling will spoil the impression of the game.

We also recommend that you do not conduct this fun relay race for getting to know each other and getting to know each other with children under 5 years of age.

    4. Cheerful blind man's buff "Yasha"

These are the well-known blind man's buff with elements of a round dance. “The naked one,” here his name is Yasha, sits in the center blindfolded, the rest of the children circle around him, holding hands, and shout in unison:

“Sit, sit, Yasha, you are our amusement. You are nibbling nuts for your own amusement."

At the same time, “Yasha” pretends that he is really gnawing nuts, at the last word of the quatrain the round dance stops, everyone claps their hands, and “Yasha” comes up to any of the guys, puts his hand on the shoulder and says the name (i.e. he must guess, not looking).

    The guys say in unison:

“Place your hands, say your name correctly”

Whoever you guessed right becomes Yasha; if you didn’t guess right, he again “gols” himself. This fun game for young children is universal - suitable for any holiday and children's group.

    5. Game – reconstruction of “Vacation”

This is a fun team game . There are 8 participants in two competing teams, each holding one of the letters that makes up the word “vacation”. The essence of the game is that you need to quickly guess the riddle and build a “guess” out of letters; which team “writes” the word faster gets a point, then the total number is calculated and the winner is declared

Birds have one order: A clear one is visible in the sky... (Wedge) The beast, emitting an ominous roar, Sticks a sharp one into the victim... (Fang) Among the stars it is alone At night - round... (Moon) A cry is heard in the swamps, A bird lives there... (Kulik ) Yes, a boxer is an expert in combat. He hid it in his gloves... (Fist) How can I make my nails brighter? Choose the brightest... (Varnish) Whoever is used to the Internet, Puts it in between... (Click) Tell me the best movie! The award is called... (“Nika”) Where does the evil crocodile live? There is a river in Africa... (Nile) Any artist is great because he writes with inspiration... (Lik) We have collected our bags, we are packing trunks, We are going to Asia on vacation in... (Auls) Notebooks, textbooks, compasses are forgotten. They will give joy to all children... (Holidays)

    6 "Poultry yard"

This is a game for middle and high school age children.

The presenter lines the guys up in a circle and says that now he will tell everyone in their ear what kind of poultry they will be. Then he approaches each player and whispers either “goose” or “duck”. Moreover, there should be many more “geese” and in some places even two in a row.

Then he continues his explanation: “When I say “goose,” all the “geese” draw up both legs and hang on to their “feathered” comrades. When I say “duck,” we press our left leg, “rooster,” our right, and “hen,” we begin to cackle.” It goes without saying that two “geese” in a row will simply knock down the entire “structure”, and you are guaranteed a cheerful revival among the masses.

By the way, before people understand what the catch is, you can play this deception game one more time.

    7. "Fun Farm"

It is best to assemble two teams of six people: one of them will be the “farmer”, the others will be the “calves”. The “farmer” is given a one and a half liter bottle of milk, to which a clean rubber glove is attached as a nipple. A hole is made in advance in each of its “fingers”.

At the presenter’s signal, the “farmers” turn the bottle over and the “calves” simultaneously begin to drink milk from this improvised udder. Whoever empties the bottle the fastest wins.

It would be logical if they were presented with some fermented milk products as prizes.

An outdoor game for kids “Mushroom Pickers”.

For this game, divide the children into “mushroom pickers” and “mushrooms”. Then the mushroom pickers are divided into pairs - during the game they will “catch” the participants depicting mushrooms, capturing them in the ring of their hands, like in a basket.

But first, the “mushrooms” seem to be hiding from the “mushroom pickers”: they squat in various secluded places and repeat the following words and actions after the leader:

Between the soft spruce paws, Rain, drip, drip, drip (children clap their hands). Where the twig has long since dried up, Gray moss, moss, moss (children rub their hands). Where the leaf stuck to the leaf, a mushroom grew, a mushroom, a mushroom (the children rise). Who found it, friends?

The children shout: “It’s me, me, me!”

At this moment, mushroom pickers run up to the mushrooms in pairs and “capture them in their arms.” Whichever pair of mushroom pickers collects the most mushrooms wins.

    9. Game to activate children “We were waiting for the bus.”

Children usually really like this active game, especially if the counselor or organizer themselves shows the movements artistically and with good humor. Place the children in a semicircle or in a checkerboard pattern so that they do not interfere with each other and see the leader who will tell and “show” the story, and the children will repeat the movements after him.

We were waiting for the bus (making a visor with our hand and looking into the distance). They saw it and ran (Run in place). They jumped in and swayed (Swing to the sides, one hand up, as if on a handrail). And they were chatting in the cabin (They sway, touch their shoulders). Is there room by the window? (They bring their hand up to their eyes.) Anyone who is tired can sit down (Squat). And they didn’t forget about the weak (they shake their heads negatively). They quickly gave up their place (Stand up). We turned to our neighbors (Turn in one direction, then in the other direction). And they smiled at each other (Smile at neighbors from left to right in turn). Patted on the shoulder (They pat a neighbor in a friendly manner). And they stomped towards the exit (Walking). We politely apologize (Bow their head). We change places (Change places with neighbors). They reached the handrails (Reach). Everyone came out and turned around (Turn back). Everyone waved their palm (Waving hand). And they skipped (Jump).

    10. "A clever catcher"

Here we assume the participation of any number of children, from among whom we select one leader. For the first time, it is better to choose someone very efficient and quick-witted. He will be required to do the following: at a distance of 15 meters from the leader, all other players line up. Their task is to reach the leader, but they can only move when he is not looking at them. As soon as the leader turns towards the players, they should freeze. That is, the presenter must behave quite “insidiously” - either turning away from the participants, or suddenly looking in their direction. Whoever the presenter catches with his gaze in motion is sent back to the start. The participant who is the first to match the leader wins. It is he who becomes the next “clever catcher.”

    11. “Super catch-up”

Any old game can be “revived” with some original condition, for example, invite the children to play catch-up: the first one, as usual, catches up with his “victim” and touches it with his hand, which means “you are naked!” And he really hits, only during catch-ups he holds on with one hand to the place where the first leader touched.

Invite the naked children to touch the other participants in some unexpected place: on the knees, on the nose, on the heel. Then the next player will be a rather funny figure, and the game will add laughter and excitement.

    12. Team game “Message by fax”.

This is a modern version of the famous broken phone game. For this, the leader must recruit two teams of at least eight people. They line up, looking at the back of each other's heads. All players receive a simple pencil. The presenter’s assistants approach each of the team members standing on the edge and show them a simple picture. This could be a schematic diagram of a house or a tree. It is quite possible to draw a bunny or a dog.

The one to whom the picture was shown turns to his teammate, or rather, to his back, and with the blunt side of the previously issued simple pencil draws what he saw. The task of the participant in the game, on whose back they are drawing, is to be able to guess the picture and, as accurately as possible, send the guessed message to the back of the comrade in front.

The very last one takes a piece of paper and puts on it the object that, in his opinion, they just tried to depict on the back of his body.

The team whose final masterpiece is more similar to its prototype wins.

    13. Game for children “Two close friends”

In this case, you can use the children’s mutual sympathies and invite them to pair up on their own. Conditions of the game: participants grab and hold each other tightly by the waist in such a way that only one hand remains free from hugging: the left hand of one player and the right hand of the other.

With these free hands, children will first have to unlace and then lace the shoes or sneakers provided by the presenter. The game can be played in several rounds, for example, first four pairs compete, and then the two who won the first competition.

    14. Team game “Tricky ball”

Children are divided into several groups of seven to ten people and each group is given a ball. They will throw it among themselves. The main rule is not to lift your feet off the floor. Anyone who raises his heel even a little bit or moves his foot to the side is mercilessly “expelled” from the game. In each team, the pair of children who can survive the longest wins.

    15. “We are sewn to each other”

A game with an imaginary needle is a game of dexterity, which in our case will be replaced by an ordinary wooden spoon and a long, thin braid tied to it.

We are recruiting a girls team and a boys team of ten people each. We give them these spoons, and at the leader’s signal, the children begin to sew to each other, that is, thread the spoon through the straps and straps of their sundresses, through the loops for straps and buttons. The team whose participants can handle sewing faster will be the winner of the competition.

    16. “Test for future firefighters”

Two participants are called up for this fun relay race. Two chairs should already be prepared for them, with their backs facing each other. Jackets with the sleeves turned inside hang on the backs of the chairs, and under the chairs there is a piece of rope about a meter long. We lay the rope so that both ends just protrude from the skein towards each chair.

At the command of the leader, the players jump up from their seats, put on their jackets, first turning the sleeves in the normal direction. Then they run around both chairs in any direction, sit down in their place and begin to pull the rope from under the chair towards themselves. Whoever manages to do all these movements faster, and therefore pulls more rope in his direction, passes the firefighter test.

Such a game can be made part of a thematic game program about fire safety or future professions.

    17. "Intergalactic Travelers"

This game is intended for the street or those rooms where you wouldn’t mind drawing with chalk on the floor. With this same chalk you need to draw from three to five large triangles, which will represent rockets. Inside the “rockets” we draw several circles of such a size that a child can stand in it. There should be one less “seat” like this than there are small players.

First, the children stand in a circle

and under the lines of the poem they go in a circle:

Fast rockets are waiting for us

    For walks on the planets.

We’ll fly whichever one we want!

But there is one secret in the game: there is no place for latecomers.

After these words, the children are invited to run up and take seats in the rockets. Naturally, there won’t be enough space for one person. This child is out.

To conduct the second round of the game, we cross out one of the circles with chalk, so that the next time we board, there will be a latecomer again. In the same spirit, the game continues until one child remains who managed to take the last free seat in the rocket descending to the distant planets.

    18. "Bilboke"

At a children's party, you can successfully use an ancient game originally from France, when a wooden ball tied to a spoon was thrown up and caught by the same spoon.

Only we will change the rules a little and instead of a spoon we will try to adapt disposable cups or cups for hot drinks.

We will also need tennis balls and laces forty centimeters long. We glue them with adhesive tape to the bottom of the cup and to the tennis ball.

Players compete in pairs, tossing each ball in turn. To give the game a competitive flavor, it is worth assigning a number of points that the winner must score. If a player misses during his turn, he misses his next move.

The winners of the first round meet each other in the second, and so on. Only each round must differ from the previous one in the number of points leading the participant to victory: in the first - ten, in the second - thirteen, in the third - fifteen.

The champion will be determined in the final competition. He is entitled to the main prize; you can also determine those who took 2nd and 3rd places by the total number of points scored.

    19. Fun relay race “Have a drink!” Eat up!”

This fun competition is adapted for children, so it’s worth stocking up on a lot of gas water and cakes (children, of course, like such competitions, but you need to warn them to be careful so as not to choke, etc.)

Two teams of five people are recruited. On two tables there are several 0.5 liter bottles of soda and a dish with large cakes (to make it more difficult to eat at one time). In addition, you should also have sparkling water in stock so that you can put it on the table if necessary. And most importantly, each bottle needs to be shaken properly, and when the player opens the cap, a “foamy” surprise awaits him.

The first player may well be called “open it,” since his task is to open a bottle of drink, which will splash very much for the amusement of everyone. The second - “drink” - should empty the vessel. The third “grab it” must quickly eat the cake, the fourth “cap it” runs to the table to screw on the cap of the empty bottle.

The entire relay lasts five to seven minutes. The team that eats and drinks the most wins.

    20. “Cross the swamp”

The game has the same plot as the previous one, but with small props - sheets of paper (or newspapers). Two to four people can participate at the same time.

Everyone receives two sheets of paper. The paper will serve as “bumps” along which you can cross through the “swamp” - a designated strip in the room. You can move forward only by standing with both feet, and only on your own sheets - “bumps”. Whoever gets across the “swamp” the fastest is the winner!\

    21. “Whose gift?”

There is no need to specifically recruit participants for this game: the process develops gradually, but with the condition that dances are organized for children at this holiday. The host randomly chooses, for example, a boy and gives him an intriguing box with a prize. He further explains that the gift will be passed from hand to hand according to the following principle: two girls approach the chosen boy and invite him to dance. He makes his choice, and the one who is not accepted to dance receives the coveted box.

Already a couple of boys approach this girl, and the scenario repeats itself. In the end, the gift goes to whoever holds it while the music stops. And the host has the right to stop the dancing at any time.

Thus, the box with the prize passes through several hands. Sometimes it happens that the “holder” of the gift is repeated, since children come up with invitations to dance more than once.

It should be explained to children that refusing to dance is not allowed according to the rules of the game.

Let us repeat that the prize is awarded to the one who holds it in his hands when the music stops. It is quite possible to repeat this game more than once, since every child is interested in taking possession of a gift.

    22. Competition “Sunny Circle”

This type of competition is for large groups of participants on a sunny day on a flat, open area large enough for running.

Props - two hula hoops, gymnastic sticks or other oblong objects according to the number of participants.

The hoops are placed on the far side of the court. Participants are divided equally into two teams. The task of each team is to run across the court in turn and place ray sticks around their hoop. Whoever is faster wins!

A variant of the game for kids in the room is to place rays of felt-tip pens (soft pencils, counting sticks, cardboard strips) around the circles on the tables.

    23. Prank game “Brains of the Pharaoh”

Of course, this is a game - a prank for older children, from about ten years old. For her, in the next room you need to organize a “tomb of the pharaoh”: curtain the windows, turn on some eerie quiet music, light scented candles, put a man who will portray a mummy on the bed, and put a saucepan with warm pasta, thickly watered, in his head sunflower oil. Also stock up on a towel or wet wipes for the players.

The presenter warns in advance that this is a very scary game, and he asks those who are nervous or “fearful” to immediately refuse to participate in it. Of course, such clauses are designed to intrigue the guys.

We introduce one person at a time into the room disguised as the tomb of the pharaoh, but at the threshold we tightly blindfold him. At first we just remain silent for about thirty seconds, letting go of the player’s hand so that he thinks that he is completely alone. When the child begins to show signs of anxiety, we tell him in a mysterious voice that he will now touch the pharaoh’s feet, hands and head. Of course, we bring him to the lying “pharaoh” and apply the player’s hand in turn to the listed places of the body. Then we add: “And this is the brains of the pharaoh” and put the child’s hand into the saucepan with pasta. He, of course, does not shout in his own voice, and everyone else - the presenter and the “Pharaoh” himself - laughs. The young participant in the “horror story” also laughs, but only after his eyes are untied.

It is best for those who have passed the test of the Pharaoh's brains not to return to the room, but to watch how the same trick is performed on other participants in the game. At the same time, such a move will intrigue the guys even more, because they will hear a scream from the next room, but they won’t understand what’s going on. So the return of the singular leader and his invitation to the next volunteer to follow him will seem like a real adventure to the children.

    24. “Offensive” competitions”

This competition is especially suitable for boys, and since it is held in pairs, it is best to choose one representative from each team. Participants need to tie one balloon to one leg or one balloon to each leg. The players' task is to step on and burst the enemy's balloon.

It’s worth immediately stipulating the rules that are mandatory for everyone: you can’t push, grab and hold the opponent’s hands, or kick. For violations, threaten with complete disqualification, but for winning, each participant receives 5 points.

It is quite possible to organize an entire tournament in which the winners from each pair meet in the next match. And so on several times until one and only champion emerges.

    25. “Ice, melt”

Good fun for hot weather. Several pieces of ice will be useful for it - according to the number of intended teams. Challenge: Using only their hands and their breath, team members must melt their piece of ice as quickly as possible. It is best to encourage children to warm up the ice one at a time, since this will allow them to change from a player with frozen palms to a player with still warm hands.

After the competition, provide the children with dry towels.
