Knowledge Day (First Bell) traditionally takes place on September 1 in all schools. This is a solemn assembly where all schoolchildren and parents are congratulated on the beginning of the new school year. This day is considered special for first-graders and graduates.

history of the holiday

Knowledge Day became an official holiday in 1984, after the publication on June 15 of Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR No. 373-11 “On declaring September 1 a national holiday - Knowledge Day.”

Until 1935, there was no uniform start date for classes in educational institutions in Russia. In urban schools, children began studying in August, in rural schools - in mid-autumn, when agricultural work ended. In 1935, the Council of People's Commissars and the Central Committee of the CPSU introduced a uniform start of classes in schools on September 1, established the length of the school year and the dates of the holidays.

Story

It has not always been the case that the school year begins at the same time everywhere. If you delve a little deeper into history, you can see that some schools started school earlier than this - in mid-August, as soon as the great heat stopped. If you look at rural schools, the beginning of the school year fell after the harvest. Only at this time did children have the opportunity to attend an educational institution. There were also gymnasiums, schools where the school year began in winter.

During the period during the First World War, members of the Youth Committee proposed holding an International Youth Day. The date was chosen for him by chance, and it was exactly September 1st. This innovation occurred in 1932. And after three years, this date was determined as the main one for the beginning of the school year.

It was during this period that one of the school directors, namely F. Bryukhovetsky, decided that the first day of school would be a ceremonial parade, and that this year’s graduate, an 11th grader, would carry the first grader with a bell in his hands. This is not the only innovation that he came up with, but in every city calls are made in this way - a tradition that has passed on for many years. During World War II, the anti-war significance of this day was much greater than in other periods.

In addition, the duration of the school year for each age group was prescribed:

  • The first three classes – until the end of spring;
  • The next 4 classes – no longer than June 10;
  • Other classes – no longer than June 20.

Today, only one thing is clearly stated - the school year must last at least 33 weeks for first-graders, and for everyone else it varies, but on average it is 35 weeks. In addition, the duration of vacations during school and summer time was indicated. All this was strictly observed and even in today's schools the same routine is followed. Knowledge Day was officially approved only 49 years later; in 1984, a special decree was issued. The Presidium of the USSR Supreme Council adopted it at the state level.

Holiday traditions

The top officials of the state traditionally congratulate students and teachers on Knowledge Day.

In schools, September 1 is a public holiday and not a school day. Pupils come in smart school uniforms, girls wear white bows. Children bring bouquets of fresh flowers with which they congratulate class teachers and teachers.

In schools, a solemn assembly is held, at which students sing songs, recite poems, and the director and teachers congratulate them on the start of the school year. School amateur art groups take part in the festival. The first bell rings for first graders.

Class teachers conduct introductory lessons and class hours for their students, during which they talk about peace, kindness, patriotism, and safety rules. High school students traditionally celebrate the holiday in a group. They visit cinemas and cafeterias, go to amusement parks and go on excursions.

For students of secondary and higher educational institutions, September 1 is less solemn. First-year students get acquainted with the place of study and teachers. Some universities hold concerts and initiations for students. For senior students, September 1 is a school day.

Funny poems for 1st grade on September 1

And we move on. It's great when school events include elements of humor. Therefore, for children, you can include non-standard versions of stories, but cool ones.

Today I'm going to first class for the first time. I will try to be the best student in everything.

Mom and dad told me how to behave at a desk: For example, you can’t lie down, A desk is not a bed.

I intend to sit up straight, as my mother taught me. I want to ask, say, All you have to do is raise your hand.

And you can’t chat with anyone, so as not to disrupt your lessons. Forty-five minute lesson, I wish I could hold out the whole time!

Dad gave secret advice: You can run to the toilet. It’s a pity, we can’t go to the buffet yet: I would buy sweets there.

No, I can't relax. You have to try to be the best. I will obey my mother, With her I will definitely be the first.

I have an ABC book in my briefcase, and notebooks, and a diary! I am now truly a First Class Student!

I go to school with flowers, I hold my mother’s hand. Because of the lush bouquet I can’t find the doors.

A new uniform is put on, a white shirt. Look at me, what a first-grader I am!

We bought new uniforms, dressed up our whole class - And now our mothers can’t tell us apart.

New books, notebooks, And a cool suit was made, So that everything would be in order, Dad took out a loan from the bank.

Poems for first graders with humor (comic)

Here are a couple more funny poems. I particularly liked them. By the way, the kids learn them quickly and easily.

We are first-graders. Everyone around is looking after us, They say: “Charming ones!” We agree, no doubt. We proudly walk to school this sultry September. And we seriously declare: We are following science! Both girls and boys, Toddlers and big guys, We carry books in our briefcases, Pens and pencils. Wait, dads, moms! We will grow up a little - we will begin to take the Institute program at school. Wish us good luck and success in our studies. Don't see him far - it's time for us to go to class!

******************

I will do all my homework accurately. I'll come to class without being late in the morning. At home I won’t forget a pen, a notebook, and a pencil. And I forgot - I will roar for the whole class, for the whole floor. During lessons I promise not to make noise or chatter. If I don’t know the answer, I will raise my hand. And during recess I promise not to make noise, not to knock people and walls down, not to push like a bear. I will be clever, I will be brave, I will play football. So, every now and then I’ll be hitting the ball into the window. I will be smart and cheerful, Do good deeds, So that my native school will accept me as my own.

******************

First grader, first grader, Dressed up like for a holiday! He didn’t even walk into a puddle: He took a look and walked away. The ears are washed to a shine, A scarlet mushroom is on the lid of the backpack, And he himself is like a fungus. From under the cap he looks to the side: Can everyone see? Does everyone know? Does everyone sigh with envy?

******************

The whole family spent a whole day collecting a large briefcase. And then I dreamed of books - They went and lay down in it!

Recommendations for holding the “First Bell” holiday

For students with experience, September 1st passes with the tedious: “It has begun...”. Their no less experienced parents sighed: “Well, here it is (further sigh), it has begun...”. The teachers have an optimistic – tragic: “It has begun!” But there is a special category of people for whom the first of September is a holiday, and sighs, and still bright hopes. These are first-graders, their parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles of first-graders. Therefore, you, the person responsible for holding the first school holiday, are faced with a difficult task: how to make it interesting and memorable for all the characters in school life? How to conduct the “First Bell” so that it becomes a small presentation of your educational institution for new students and adults? And, finally, so that the already matured students at the holiday itself do not smoothly move on to discussing their pressing problems, but hear and see something new. Moreover, you have very little time to prepare.

Undoubtedly, with such time pressure, the quality of the performance will depend on the precise fulfillment of the tasks you have assigned to all levels of participants in the action: the director (although, most likely, it will be you), the sound engineer, the choreographer, the leaders of the vocal ensemble, the design studio, those responsible for constructing classes , and even cleaners. Managing this mechanism is your most difficult task and a necessary condition for holding the holiday. First decide on its shape. Now it has become fashionable to hold the “First Bell” in the assembly hall. This is real and interesting if your school has a maximum of two first grades, and you do not invite other parallels to the holiday. And if there are about a hundred first-graders, add to them an army of parents, and even other students, then there can be no question of any assembly hall! Therefore, the most popular and effective form of conducting the “First Call” remains the ruler.

Ruler

When preparing a script, it is important to remember its duration. The best option is 35-40 minutes. If it is longer, then it will not be possible to maintain attention to what is happening, not only among first-graders, but also among older students. Pay attention to the design of the site where the line will take place. As a rule, there should be a designated area for a makeshift stage. It can be decorated with bouquets in tall vases, and the stage itself can be marked with an arch made of wire and decorated with flowers, greenery, balls, flags, etc. It all depends on imagination and possibilities. The idea of designing... asphalt is interesting. You can place flowers cut out of multi-colored artificial leather on it, which are then used for many years. Or you can paint them or stars directly on the asphalt with enamel paints. It looks very new and beautiful. In addition, your school will have its own “boulevard of flowers” or even its own “alley of stars”!

Voice-over will play an important role in the quality of the line. All words spoken and songs sung must be clearly audible from anywhere on the site. Otherwise, the attention of the audience will be lost. In the script for the line itself, provide as few speeches as possible, even from high-ranking guests, and as many changes in actions as possible. Let poetic greetings replace songs or excerpts from them, dances, etc. Be sure to give the floor to the school principal, the teacher of one of the first grades. The parting words of graduates are best heard in poetic or song form. And if this is an order, then it must be written in simple words that children can understand. When giving the floor to first-graders, make sure to rehearse with a microphone in advance so that they do not get confused when they see it. Their performance should have a slightly humorous tone, which will arouse keen interest and a smile. Do not forget that the songs and dances included in the script must, firstly, correspond to its content. For example, a sailor dance after a speech by the school principal or a “polka” after a farewell speech from graduates looks ridiculous. And, secondly, to become the calling card of your school’s creative teams. Here, they say, dear first-graders and parents, look! We not only teach various academic disciplines, but also develop the abilities and talents of students! Select the appropriate musical background for the exit and greeting of first-graders, small pauses that arise, and the moment when the bell rings. It’s better to take one dance, no more than two songs. A special word about the leaders of the line. I hope it will be the students and not you yourself. It is necessary to invite the most experienced students to this role - artists from the school’s theater studio or KVN team. Those who do not get confused, forgetting the words, will be able to get out of a situation when, for example, the sound engineer puts on the wrong soundtrack, and first-graders come out instead of the announced director. Leaders play an important and responsible role as school owners. Make sure you have identical folders that contain the script. This is just in case you suddenly forget the name of the invited guest. Presenters must know the text by heart! The appearance is neat, neat, clothes are best in strict black and white. "My God! - you say, - so many different difficulties! Isn’t it easier to line everyone up, play the anthem, introduce the first-graders, give the floor to the director and all those invited, ring the bell and bring the students into the school?” Simpler, but absolutely not interesting and, most importantly, not festive! Moreover, the wisest are right when they say that how you celebrate the New Year is how you will spend it! Even if it’s the school new year. The first proposed scenario is intended for the immediate “culprits” of the occasion - first-graders. And the second one is for those who have already experienced the first of September more than once. This option is for schools with a second school shift. Do not refuse to conduct a line for “middle” classes. After all, “First Bell” is a holiday for all school students, the very first, the most important.
