Consider decorating a bottle of cognac for a military man with ribbons
When thinking about the design of the bottle, it would be very appropriate to take an individual approach; in this case, the gift will definitely not leave the man indifferent.
For example, specific paraphernalia will be relevant for a military man. We offer a master class on decorating an alcoholic drink in a similar theme. For work we will need the following materials:
- cardboard;
- black bias tape (about 12 m);
- white bias tape (about 2 m);
- white ribbon (5cm/30cm);
- black ribbon;
- buttons;
- stars;
- scissors;
- plastic bag;
- glue gun
We wrap a bottle of cognac in a bag and secure it with threads. We wrap the base (up to the neck) with cardboard and fix it with glue. We add a “collar” made of cardboard.
Cut a piece of white tape (its length depends on the size of the neck) and glue it like a collar. We fold another piece of the same tape in half and glue it as a bib.
We tie a tie from black ribbon and glue it under the collar.
Let's move on to making the uniform; for it you will need black bias tape. We begin gluing the tapes, placing them overlapping, in the direction from the back to the front, until the shoulders are covered. After this, we continue gluing in a circle. Thus, we glue the entire bottle to the bottom.
Depending on who the gift is intended for, you can make shoulder straps. The base for them is cut out of cardboard and covered with ribbons of the appropriate colors. Depending on the rank, a certain number of stars can be attached to them.
Using black bias tape we glue the lapel of the jacket.
Using a glue gun, secure the buttons.
If necessary, we supplement the jacket with badges, medals, orders, which can be made from ribbons.
To make a cap, measure the circumference of the neck, cut out a strip of cardboard of the appropriate length, and close it into a circle. We glue a cardboard canopy to it and cover it with a piece of black tape. We draw a circle on a sheet of cardboard, inside it is another one the size of the neck. Cut it out as in the photo below.
We fix the elements of the cap with glue, cover it with ribbons, and decorate it with a badge. We put the headdress on the neck. Ready!
Using the same principle, using ribbons you can decorate a bottle of cognac for men of other professions, for example, a doctor, a worker, and so on. To do this, just select the appropriate ribbon colors and suitable attributes.
If a gift is being prepared for the boss at work, then the bottle can be dressed in a formal suit.
Thus, for men of different professions and positions, you can choose the appropriate design for a bottle of cognac using ribbons.
Decorating gift bottles for men is not limited to the use of ribbons; it can be done in an interesting way using other materials and techniques. Let us give examples of these.
The decoupage technique, popular today, allows you to transfer a finished drawing or photograph to a bottle. In this way, you can put congratulations on the gift, a picture with a certain meaning, a photo of the hero of the occasion, etc.
As a symbol of financial well-being, you can present a “money” bottle; for this, it is pasted over with coins and covered with golden paint.
Another original way to present cognac as a gift is to arrange it in the form of a bouquet with sweets.
One of the most unusual ways to decorate a bottle is to decorate it with nylon tights, which, after special treatment, resemble heavy fabric or leather.
Decorating a bottle can become a truly creative and interesting process, and how many pleasant emotions such a gift will evoke in a man!
Packed in fabric
Furoshiki
This is a Japanese packaging technique. You can use elegant fabric, and if the gift is intended for a woman, a beautiful scarf will do (this is both packaging and an additional gift). Everything is done easily according to the scheme.
With pompom
Everything here is the same as with paper. We wrap it in 2-3 turns, fasten the structure with tape or seams. We tie a ribbon on top, and cut the free edge into strips, turning it into a cute pompom.
Wine set as a gift for a man
There is an opinion that gift sets for wine lovers and the drink itself are gifts that are more appropriate to give to a woman. However, this is a fundamentally wrong belief. Men can also be given aged wines or cognac.
If you give your man wine, choose red. For example, Pinot Noir
Why is Pinot Noir recommended? The fact is that this wine has a pronounced woody-fruity aroma and is a bit reminiscent of whiskey. Even picky gourmets will enjoy the drink.
Gift wrapping doesn't play a big role
When it comes to gifts, men's attention is usually focused on the content rather than the appearance. For this reason, it’s a great idea to give a man personalized wine as a gift.
He will definitely remember and appreciate such a sign of attention.
The wine can be topped up. A flavored cigar, dark chocolate or candy will do.
If you find it difficult to choose a good drink, consider a wine set as a gift. They look very elegant and impressive. There are many variations of such sets. They may contain:
- corkscrew;
- plugs of different sizes;
- various clamps;
- cases;
- special thermometer;
- funnel;
- glasses.
Some wine sets are assembled in a wooden box. You can find unusual options. For example, a box in the shape of a chessboard.

Gift sets with alcohol
Another original way to package alcohol is to make a set with it. You can use any ingredients:
- smoked salmon, trout or salmon, fish sushi, blue cheese, smoked chicken, oysters, shrimp, mussels and a bottle of whiskey;
- noble varieties of cheeses, Swiss sweets, dark chocolate, coffee beans and a bottle of cognac;
- a jar of red caviar, hard cheeses, deli meats and half a liter of vodka;
- hard cheeses, blue cheeses, shrimp, mussels, fruits, raw smoked sausage and 0.7 liters of red wine;
- different types of cheeses, fruits, seafood, pastries and a bottle of good white wine;
- nuts, chocolate, exotic fruits, citrus fruits and a bottle of liqueur.
You can put such sets in baskets of different sizes: boxes made with your own hands, or purchased in special departments of stores. Decorations include beautiful bandaging ribbons and soft toys. You can add cigars, a themed book, pocket backgammon, fresh flowers, Christmas tree decorations, a couple of glasses or wine glasses to the gift set.
Your desire to make a gift extraordinary and memorable will bring pleasure not only to you, but also to the person for whom it is intended. Therefore, the time spent on making an exclusive cannot be considered lost; on the contrary, the level of your creativity will rise even higher by one step with each new creation. Live beautifully, create for the joy of yourself and others.
Rum for connoisseurs of traditions
This version of alcohol will appeal to those bosses who love the unambiguous, pronounced taste characteristic of rum and bourbon.
When choosing rum, remember that the best drinks in this class are produced in Cuba, Guadeloupe, Jamaica and Puerto Rico. Among all the possible options (white, gold and dark), it is better to give preference to dark rum, since its aging exceeds 5 years.
Good options would be:
- Fans of soft fruity notes will love it;
- Hispaniola rum aged 5 years. This is the famous Dominican rum, which has a mild taste due to a complex filtration system during production.
It's time to decorate the bottle
We measure the circumference of the bottle at the bottom, where the skirt will be, take a satin ribbon 5 cm wide, and measure three lengths.
For me, the circumference of the bottle is 23 cm. Multiplying 23 cm by 3, it turned out to be 69 cm (23x3 = 69).
There should be two such stripes, since the skirt will be double.
Finish one edge of the ribbon with white bias tape. I sewed it on a machine, but you can also glue it.
These are the stripes I got.
Assembling the skirt:
- Fold the ends of the strip right sides inward. And press it with a metal ruler.
- We draw along the ruler with a burner, cutting off the excess and immediately soldering the ends of the ribbons. You can use a simple soldering iron.
- Next, we collect our ribbon on a thread along the upper edge.
- And we collect it. We do not fasten the thread; we will still need to adjust the skirt to the volume of the bottle.
We take a skirt, put it on the bottle and try it on the way we want. I will have a diagonal skirt. Now, fasten the thread to the desired width of the skirt.
We glue the skirt to the bottle, glue must be applied to the bottle, if you apply glue to the skirt, then while you lower it to the right place, you will stain the entire bottle with glue.
You need to make the second skirt in the same way. It should look like this.
Take the lace and cover the top section of the skirt with it.
I also decided to decorate the Lady’s outfit with roses made from ribbons.
How to pack wine as a gift
So, you have decided on the choice of wine as a gift.
All that remains is to choose the appropriate packaging. The standard packaging method is gift paper. If you want something more original, then pay attention to wine gift boxes. Their selection is huge, but wine in a wooden gift box looks most impressive
Wine in a wooden gift box
Speaking about wooden packaging, it is definitely worth mentioning gift barrels. This presentation design option is the most preferable. Firstly, it is original, and, secondly, it is in barrels that it is customary to store and age wine, so the association with the high quality of the drink is immediately visible.
There are other ways of unusual packaging. For example, you can give two gifts in one - pack a bottle of wine in a beautiful kitchen towel. If the occasion and your relationship with the gift recipient allow, then the bottle can be packed in a sock, and the second can be used as a “gift ribbon” to secure the design on the neck.
A huge scope of imagination opens up for needlewomen. You can make exclusive packaging for wine from anything. Scraps of beautiful fabric, knitted covers, packaging made of silk, satin and felt, as well as many other options are used.
Now you know how to choose good wine and accessories as a gift. You should not give overly expensive items and drinks. By doing so, you run the risk of making the recipient of the gift feel awkward and feel obligated. Choose gifts in the mid-price category.
From fabric
If you have a piece of beautiful fabric, it will be perfect for festive draping of a bottle of alcohol. All you need is the fabric itself, a string or ribbon to secure the neckline and accessories for decoration (optional).
This is the easiest way to decorate, which does not require a lot of time and financial expenses from you. Such ideas look simply gorgeous and it’s absolutely certain that your gift will be appreciated.
Champagne and its analogues
As in the case of cognac, France is undoubtedly the trendsetter in the field of champagne. It is there, on chalky and clay soils, which have no analogues anywhere in the world, that the best grapes grow for the production of excellent sparkling wine.
Remember that champagne is not a general term that refers to all sparkling, pearl and sparkling wines. This term is protected by French law as the name of sparkling wine produced in a clearly defined territory from grapes grown only there. Everything else has the right to be called sparkling wine.
To our great joy, there are also good gift options among them. Many countries produce proper sparkling wines made using classical technology similar to that of the Champagne region. This method is called “secondary fermentation in a bottle.” Only this method of producing sparkling wines guarantees a good result.
On store shelves you can look for sparkling Spanish wines (Cava), Italian (Prosecco and Asti). Sparkling wines of excellent quality are produced in Germany. Sparkling wines from Chile, Argentina and even South Africa have good taste.
For those who love sweet wines, sparkling Martini and Cinzano (made in Italy) are suitable. However, only the brut and dry categories can be considered true classics. This is why semi-sweet and sweet wines are not produced in the Champagne region. French champagne on the world market is represented by the best examples of the Veuve Clicquot, Moët and Chandon, Dom Perignon, Piper-Heidsieck, Mumm, Krug and some others.
Bottle design for a man: master class on traditional decoupage
In order to perform decoupage using the traditional technique, we will need a tall rectangular bottle, black acrylic, a rice napkin with a print in black and beige tones (for example, an image of a wolf, a black panther, a sailboat, etc.), pastel crayons to match the acrylic , brushes, foam sponge, file, PVA, varnish.
In order to design a bottle you need:
- Apply black acrylic to the previously prepared surface of the bottle in several layers using a foam sponge. Layers must be applied with intermediate drying of the product.
- Take the file and place the napkin face down on it.
- Gently moisten the file with a napkin with water.
- Attach the file to the bottle, placing the image in the center
- Remove the file and cover the applique with PVA.
- Soften the edges of the drawing with pastel crayons. The pastel should be applied with your fingers, as if driving in the color.
- Coat the product with finishing varnish.
The design on the rice napkin must be torn out by hand: this way, the picture will blend better with the background and will not create unnecessary relief. This master class is suitable for decor in any theme. The main thing is to choose a suitable napkin and background color.
Alcohol as a gift for a man
A birthday is an occasion to give a man an expensive drink as a gift.
When looking for the perfect drink, you should pay attention to:
- Vodka Staritsky & Levitsky Reserve. For its production, only purified water and high-quality grain are used. The process of tasting and strict testing allows us to obtain a product of the highest rank.
- French cognac Grand, which contains grape alcohols. The strength of the drink is at least 40%, and Napoleon himself preferred its quality and unsurpassed taste.
- Jim Beam Bourbon. The most popular representative of its species. Aged in containers for up to four years, subject to cold filtration.
- Blanton's Special Reserve Whiskey. A strong drink that is aged in oak barrels for eight years. A beautiful and original bottle emphasizes its uniqueness.
Expensive alcohol is ideal as a gift for a man. To make the right choice, you need to know the preferences of the stronger sex.
Knitted decor
If the gift is intended for a woman who is good with knitting needles and crochet, then the idea of knitted decor will come in handy. The most diligent donors will knit a gift cover themselves, taking into account the character of the person to whom this drink, dressed in a knitted fur coat or coat, will be given.
Creative people will make it simpler, but the result will be no less original packaging. For example, you can cut off the sleeve of a favorite but no longer used sweater, place a bottle in it and carefully seal the seams using various fitting techniques.
Minimum effort - maximum pleasure, right?
Best Scotch Whiskey
Scotch whiskey lovers call it by a special word - scotch. Along with Irish whiskey, Scotch whiskey is very popular and sells well all over the world. We can name 5 good Scotch whiskeys:
1. The most popular whiskey from Scotland is Johnnie Walker. The brand produces products for both the richest and poorest segments of the population - everyone can find a product to their liking and budget. This largely determines its popularity. You can buy it at Royal Mile Whiskies at 3 Bloomsbury St WC1B 3QE at prices starting from 1,800 rubles per 0.7 liter.
2. White Horse is called special because it includes two types of whiskey in special ratios - malt (0.3) and grain (0.7). There are other proportions in the manufacturer’s collection, but this particular type is classic, as it has a pleasant, subtle taste. It is sold at Soho Whiskey Club at a price of 1,000 rubles per 0.7 liter.
3. Glenfiddich (Glenfiddich) is the most famous malt scotch produced at the same distillery. The date of its release is known - Christmas night in 1887. You can buy it at World of Whiskies Duty Free stores at airports. The cheapest version of a 0.5 liter bottle costs 2,500 rubles.
4. Chivas Regal is considered an exemplary whiskey, since it was created specifically for delicacies - its producers were looking for alcohol that would ideally complement elite products. Unable to find a suitable whiskey, they decided to create their own drink - and they did it brilliantly. You can buy it, for example, at The Whiskey Exchange at 3-7 Davies St London W1K 3LD. Prices for a standard bottle start at 3,000 rubles.
5. Cardhu is a single malt whiskey popular due to its subtle and smooth taste. That is why this product is called women's. It is noteworthy that the product gained such fame after the distillery came into the possession of a woman, the wife of the founder of the production. You can buy it in almost any specialty liquor store in London. A 0.7 liter bottle costs about five thousand rubles.
Craigellachie is a light straw scotch with a smoky flavor. The whiskey has a soft sweetish flavor - a little fruity, with notes of honey and cinnamon. Leaves a long aftertaste. 0.7 liters of 23-year-old cognac costs from 24 thousand rubles, 13-year-old cognac costs from 5,000 rubles.
Caol Ila malt comes from the island of Islay. This Scotch is made from barley malt dried in peat smoke. This whiskey is distinguished by a bright aroma of iodine, almonds, citrus fruits and olives. The drink leaves a sour aftertaste and goes well with smoked products. For a 25-year-old whiskey you will have to pay 25 thousand, and for the simplest and most inexpensive whiskey - about 2000 rubles (0.7 l).

A castle with a “window” using decoupage technique for a man’s birthday
In order to decorate a gift for a man’s anniversary or birthday using the decoupage technique with a “window”, we will need: a rectangular bottle, a napkin with an unclear pattern in muted tones, brown acrylic, bronze pigment, nylon stockings, corrugated cardboard, semolina, twine , labels and text of congratulations, foam sponge, brushes, PVA, Moment-gel, finishing varnish.
Before decoupage, you should prepare a bottle (clean the surface, degrease the glass), labels with congratulations (print on cardboard in calligraphic font or glue congratulations), bricks for the castle (cut out rectangular bricks from corrugated cardboard for the main decor and trapezoidal ones for the design of a semicircular window).
Let's start decoupage:
- We apply a napkin to one of the front surfaces of the bottle with the pattern facing inward, and cover it with PVA on top.
- We cover the neck of the bottle with a nylon stocking soaked in PVA, forming folds with our fingers.
- Leave the bottle for 24 hours to dry completely.
- We paint the drapery with brown acrylic.
- We design the side opposite to the napkin in the form of a semicircular, elongated window: we cover the upper arc of the window with trapezoidal cardboard stones (we glue the corrugated cardboard with Moment-glue).
- We decorate the entire surface of the bottle with rectangular elements cut out of corrugated cardboard.
- Coat the bottle with PVA and sprinkle with semolina.
- On the dried surface, using a foam sponge, apply acrylic in several layers with intermediate drying.
- We use bronze pigment to cover the protruding folds of the drapery on the neck, the top of the window arc, the bottom and corners of the bottle.
- We coat the product with varnish.
We tie the neck of the dried product with twine with congratulatory tags. The gift is ready!
Blended whiskey
Blended whiskey is the drink that rules the world. This is the most popular and widespread type of whiskey. It is made by mixing two different components: malt and grain. Blended whiskey can contain up to 20 different blended malts! The main raw materials for grain varieties are corn and wheat. You can often hear that blended scotch is inferior in quality to single malt. This statement is not entirely justified: the higher the percentage of malt component in the drink, the higher the quality of the whiskey. The recipe for blended scotch was invented in the mid-19th century: at that time, this discovery was truly revolutionary in the production of whiskey.
When choosing blended whiskey as a gift, pay attention to the main classification:
Standard blend
The most affordable type of traditional blended whiskey. If you have a small amount for a gift, it is worth considering this type of blend. The most famous representatives of this type of whiskey include, first of all, the following brands:
- Glen Clyde 3 Year Old;
- Queen Mile.
Standard blended whiskey is a high-quality, worthy drink and a more economical gift option. A win-win option for a holiday, as a compliment or gratitude.
De Luxe Blend
This whiskey is aged for at least 12 years, has a pleasant aroma and a rich, more complex taste compared to standard whiskey blends. The most famous deluxe whiskeys:
- Glen Clyde 12yo
- Chivas Regal 18yo
Whiskey in this category is perfect as a gift for a hero of the day or for an official celebration (for example, the anniversary of the founding of a company, on the occasion of receiving a new position, etc.).
Premium
Premium whiskey - here the name speaks for itself. This is a drink with outstanding taste characteristics, long aging and often bottled in a single copy and/or in designer bottles specially created for a particular drink.
This is a desirable piece for collectors and experts. Such whiskeys are kept in private collections and exhibited at auctions. An expensive, exclusive gift for a special occasion.
Bourbon
The American version of blended Scotch whiskey is called bourbon. This is grain whiskey made from corn. Why corn? Actually, because it is the cheapest and most accessible raw material in the United States. In the production of bourbon, any additives or colorings are excluded. The alcohol is kept in disposable oak barrels, which are fired before use. Thanks to this technology, the drink acquires a smoky taste. Interestingly, this type of whiskey is quite popular in Russia. A bottle of elite bourbon as a gift will be appreciated by a person prone to experimentation, progressive and broad-minded. Bourbon is perfect as a birthday gift for a business partner or boss.
Irish whiskey
A whiskey gift from an Irish producer will be appreciated by a true fan of the drink. Unlike its Scottish counterpart, this whiskey has a milder taste. There are three main types of Irish whiskey:
- Clean;
- Single malt;
- Grain.
Often different types of aged spirits are mixed, thus obtaining the well-known blended whiskey. Thanks to its expressive and at the same time mild taste, Irish whiskey is often present in the alcohol lists of restaurants and pubs and serves as the basis for several popular classic cocktails.
The softness of the taste of Irish whiskey makes it a favorite of women connoisseurs of strong drink; Therefore, if you need to give a strong gift to a lady, choose this one. Pay attention to West Cork Irish whiskey, the line of which is presented in full in Moscow only at the World of Whiskey.
Twine - a quick idea for decoration
It's easy to make an original gift with your own hands. You just need to arm yourself with imagination and a small set of tools. They will help us:
- 1 skein of twine;
- large coffee beans;
- hot melt glue with a special gun;
- a small piece of cardboard;
- double-sided thin tape.
The original decor is made according to the following algorithm:
- If necessary, remove stickers. To do this, just soak it in warm water for a few minutes.
- You need to start decorating the bottle from the very bottom - the bottom. It is necessary to glue the tip of the twine with hot glue and bring the thread to the top.
- Then we do everything in a similar way: apply glue, put twine on top. This way you need to get to the very top, but be sure to leave the cap free so that you can easily open the bottle.
Such a lid gives the product an unfinished look, so we suggest decorating it yourself separately. To do this you need to do the following:
- On a small piece of cardboard you need to mark the dimensions of the bottle cap.
- We cut out the craft and give it the required shape, securing it with double-sided tape.
- Using a similar method, we decorate the workpiece with twine. But you need to start from the middle of the cap.
The general preparation, although it looks interesting, is still a little boring. To decorate it, you can use the twine itself and coffee beans. To do this we make the following decor:
- at the top and bottom we make waves from the material and fasten them with glue;
- you can make blanks in the form of rings in advance and stick them in a chaotic manner;
- For more chic and aroma, we glue the grains in the form of some kind of pattern.
If you want the gift to be more understandable, you can write what kind of drink is inside. Prepare:
- a small candle;
- small plastic cup;
- a piece of twine;
- chalk or acrylic paint.
To make a wax seal with your own hands, follow the following algorithm:
- Melt a candle in a water bath.
- Make two small holes in a plastic cup and stretch a piece of twine through them.
- Pour the melted wax into the bottom of the glass and place it in a cool place (refrigerator) overnight.
- The next morning, tear the glass and remove the preparation.
- Label the name of the alcoholic drink and hang it on the bottle.
This decor allows you to additionally make the gift elegant.

How to open wine in a restaurant?
The cut must be made in a circle: along the lower and or upper protrusion of the neck of the bottle. Professional sommeliers do it on the bottom, this is somewhat more difficult, since then you need to remove the capsule with a beautiful movement, but when you pour the wine, it will definitely not touch its edge.

Packaging in the form of a vase
You can wrap paper around the vessel to resemble a vase of flowers. Regular notepaper is suitable for this method. Wrap the container in it heightwise. Secure the edges with tape or a stapler. Tie a large bright bow in the middle. Write your congratulations directly on the paper. Place any flowers or branches in the resulting bag. The result is a festive vase with flowers.

Understanding dry wine
Experts distinguish classic and new world dry wines in the world of expensive drinks. The classics include high-quality European varieties, in which the bouquet and aging time (bottle and barrel) are valued. Thus, red wine “Margaux”, “Pauillac”, “Saint-Estephe”, “Châteauneuf-du-Pape”, etc. is in great demand.
Among the Italian ones, the highest places are occupied by Barbaresco, Barolo, Amarone, Chianti Classico and Brunello. But on the Spanish market, “Penedes”, “Rioja” and “Ribero del Duero” are held in high esteem.
Pink and white wines play differently. They have a lower percentage of alcohol, which makes them easier to perceive and are considered a wonderful gift in the summer heat. White wines can be light or dense. The former are characterized by a fresh aroma (with floral or fruity notes), a pronounced taste, sometimes with spicy or nutmeg undertones. These include Provencal dry Rieslings and Spanish drinks made from Alabariño grapes.
The latter - “full-bodied” - are revealed gradually due to a long stay in barrels. Names such as “Puligny”, “Chassagne-Montrachet”, “Meursault” will lift the spirits of any connoisseur of fine wine.
Men's theme: decoupage bottles as a gift for February 23
To design a congratulatory bottle, we will need primer, military-colored textiles, congratulation words printed on a sheet, a picture corresponding to the theme, twine, a foam sponge, bronze pigment, and spray varnish.
We design the bottle step by step:
- Apply primer to the degreased surface with a sponge.
- Cover the bottle tightly with a cloth soaked in PVA. We apply the fabric in pieces: we separately wrap the cork and neck, the main part, and the bottom.
- We reapply glue over the entire surface of the drapery and leave the bottle to dry for a day.
- We apply the applique to a dry cloth and coat it with PVA on top: glue a picture on the front part, and words of congratulations on the back.
- We frame the appliques along the contour with twine.
- We decorate the applications with bronze pigment, applying the color with our fingers.
- We fix the result with spray varnish.
Decoration of a bottle of cognac in a tunic
The military theme design of a bottle with an elite drink will seem interesting to many, no matter whether it contains cognac, rum or whiskey. The main thing is the shape of the glass container, which can easily be shaped into a male torso.
To do this, you need a flattened bottle with “shoulders” and a low neck, of which there are quite a few on supermarket shelves.
A flattened bottle is better suited for decoration
Decorating such bottles seems most interesting to beginners, since it is easier to imagine the end result - a uniform and cap, as in the photo.
An example of designing a bottle of cognac in the form of a jacket
With the help of such a gift it is easy to imitate any ceremonial uniform:
- military man;
- sailor;
- Ministry of Emergency Situations;
- policeman;
- departmental security officer, etc.
The idea is simple - wrap the bottle with ribbons, but you need to do it beautifully
If you carefully consider the proposed sample, it is obvious that many fragments are easy to vary, making the main elements with your own hands:
- jacket;
- shirt collar;
- tie;
- cap;
- shoulder straps;
- marks of Excellence.
Important! Let us remind you that the accuracy of work and the integrity of gift wrapping depends on many factors, including experience in needlework, good tools and means for fixing.
Before decorating a bottle of cognac with your own hands, prepare materials and tools:
- polyethylene;
- thin and thick cardboard;
- satin ribbon of the required color;
- bias tape (for wrapping);
- brushes and foam sponges for painting;
- themed accessories (buttons, stars for shoulder straps);
- twisted silk thread (for fixing internal elements);
- sharp knife and scissors with sharp ends;
- pencil and square for marking;
- a bottle of good cognac (another strong drink).
The main material is satin ribbon
We do it step by step.
- Wrap a bottle of cognac in a bag, secure with thread and loosely pack it in a cardboard base and make hangers. Cover the open fragments with pieces of cardboard to suit their size. To make it easier to fix the rounded parts, it is better to decorate the edges with teeth. Try on the white tape on the collar
- We work with ribbons - the white collar imitates silk satin. The second section goes as the chest part under the jacket. We form a tie from a black ribbon of smaller width and carefully fasten it under the collar. To secure the ribbons, it is convenient to use a hot-melt adhesive gun
- We form a black jacket, starting by wrapping it with bias tape in the neck area, carefully gluing it. After the top is formed, it is better to remove the bag from below. We form the jacket with tape to the very bottom. It is important to wrap the bottle tightly
- We form shoulder straps and select accessories for the insignia of the military branch, make a breast badge, a medal from a brocade ribbon. Shoulder straps can be made from suitable pieces of ribbons
- We design the lapels of the jacket and the fastener, under which it is easy to hide the joints and trimmings of the tape. We fix the medal, badge and buttons. We choose the number of buttons at our discretion
- Let's move on to decorating the cap from ribbon and cardboard. It is more convenient to fix the visor after cutting the section for fixation with teeth. It can be immediately made from black cardboard or covered with tape. Next, from 2 circles of the required diameter we form a cap, as in the photo. For the cap, scraps of thick fabric are suitable
- After wrapping it with ribbon, we decorate it with insignia. You can give it as a gift! This is how the bottle turned out
Advice. To prevent the edge of the tape from fraying, it is better to make a hot cut with heated scissors (use work gloves) or a soldering iron. You can go along the edge with a brush with transparent silicone glue.
Pack the bottle in a case
If you have sewing skills, you can make a bottle bag. Such cozy packaging is good for a New Year's gift. After all, it looks so much like Santa Claus's bag.
A cozy winter solution is a knitted bottle cover. Make it as easy as shelling pears. For this you will need a sleeve from an old sweater. You need to put the bottle in the sleeve and mark with pins the width and height of the future cover (don’t forget to include the allowance for the bottom). Cut off, sew up the bottom with thick threads and, if necessary, reduce the width of the cover. The bottom can be reinforced with a circle of thick cardboard. It is, of course, worth refreshing the cover by washing it and rinsing it with a fragrant conditioner. A knitted bag can be decorated with beads, embroidery, appliqué, etc.
French cognac on the crest of a wave
In a sea of cognac, France rules the roost. She has been the undisputed leader and progenitor of cognac production for many thousands of years. It is on its unique soils that the best white Ugni Blanc grapes grow, which are able to give the world the splendor of this drink. Cognac is born in the region of the same name, in the Charente department. The drink of royalty and emperors, knights and midshipmen, it makes anyone who touches it fall in love with it from the first sip.
Interesting fact:
Cognac production in France is strictly regulated by the state. Even a small drop of a drink that goes against the legal regulations, technology or blend can significantly affect the name of a particular manufacturer, among whom there is fierce competition and they value their reputation very much.
French cognacs are the best choice
Any cognac produced in the Cognac region (a French city in the Charente department) is a guaranteed quality product.
Let's name five great cognac houses, any of which can take first place:
- Popular Hennessy,
- Chic Martel,
- Aristocratic Otard,
- Noble Courvoisier,
- Harmonious Remy Martin.
All of them deserve attention and any of them can give true pleasure.
In fact, there are many more producers in the Charente region and they all keep the recipe for the blend of their drink strictly secret. Whatever French cognac you buy as a gift, know that in your hands is true gold with a centuries-old history, which you are not ashamed to give to a respected person.
As in the case of Russian and Armenian versions, the best examples of the creation are French cognacs of the XO (Extra Old), Extra, Gold Reserv, Napoleon categories. Before appearing to the world in all its glory, they mature in the best oak barrels for an average of 20 years. That is why their taste is so mature, round, oily, rich, soft, and does not burn the taste buds. In old cognacs, the smell of alcohol is practically absent; they capture the aromas of heather honey and oak bark, and their taste contains the sweetness of dried fruit and vanilla notes. An incredible number of epithets describe this drink: divine, elegant, refined, soft, round, full-bodied. Real cognac is a magical melody that you want to listen to endlessly!
Decoupage of cognac bottles for men with leather
To decoupage cognac bottles with leather, in addition to the material itself, you need PVA glue, twine, brown aero paint, gold acrylic, brushes, stars for shoulder straps, cling film, decorative oil-adhesive putty, pencil, knife.
Decorating the bottle:
- We cover the bottle with leather soaked in PVA, forming folds with our fingers and leaving an empty space for congratulations.
- Glue the stars on the skin, decorate the bottle with twine (we frame the stars, empty space).
- Apply putty to the free area and cover it with film, forming folds.
- After the putty has dried, remove the film and write congratulations on the surface with a pencil.
- We cut out the words on the putty using a knife.
- We cover the product with air paint and wipe it with a napkin with a solvent so that the color remains only on the folds of the skin and the putty.
- Using a dry brush, we pick up gold and cover the protruding surfaces of the folds in some places with it and putty (the embossed words should remain without sputtering).
The man's bottle is ready! To fix the result, you can open the product with varnish.
Nuances of choice
To choose the right wine as a gift, you need to consider several points
Firstly, men and women have completely different tastes, so it is worth taking into account the gender, as well as the age, preferences and tastes of the person to whom the gift will be intended. Among other things, you need to look at your financial capabilities, since the price range for alcohol is very large: a bottle of good wine can cost several tens of dollars or several thousand
Not everyone can afford the last option. Although, according to experts, you can buy quite decent wine for twenty dollars.
You should be careful when choosing the brand of this drink. Depending on the requirements of the hero of the occasion, either dessert, fortified, or dry sparkling wine will be purchased. Some people like it very sweet, others like it semi-sweet, and still others like it even table-style. If there is no information about which one a person is leaning towards, then it is easier to choose the so-called “universal” - good or dry. Such alcohol will not hurt in any home, because often people drink such gifts not alone, but in the company of friends.
Which topic and type of technology to choose?
What to give to a dear person or an accomplished man who needs nothing? The designer decoration of a bottle of cognac as a gift for a man is often the only way to surprise a wealthy man who has everything with his inimitable gift.
A good cognac will be an excellent present for a birthday or for February 23rd, if the bottle is beautifully packaged
People whose imagination is limitless do not need to be prompted with good ideas - there are much more of them than the possibilities for their implementation. For most people who like to make something, they need ready-made examples for inspiration, with detailed descriptions and photos of how to do it step by step. Experienced craftsmen do everything in their own way, only after taking a quick glance at the finished result, as in the photo of the design of a bottle of cognac with a candy bouquet.
Bouquet with alcohol for a man
For some, multi-layered “packaging” with many elements will seem too complicated. Then you can simply cover the bottom layer by layer of a round cognac bottle placed on a circle of foam plastic, wrapping it in candies or copied banknotes.
Bag for bottles with glasses
The theme of the design may vary, depending on the hobby of its future owner. Fans of sea travel, fishing and aquariums will certainly appreciate decoupage with fish, shells, starfish on the theme of a sea pirate. After a birthday celebration, such glass containers can claim a worthy position in interior decor.
This bottle is covered with everything that was at hand
A popular theme is the personification of wealth in any form. It could be a mossy bottle from the bottom of the sea, filled with souvenir coins, on which lightning suddenly came apart. A bottle of cognac, symbolizing wealth, is best presented together with other attributes on the same theme, including figurines and chests, bills and coins.
To imitate a pirate bottle filled with money, you will need napkins, a zipper, coins, glue and paint.
When starting to design a bottle of cognac for a man, be patient and have available materials and tools.
1. | Knife and scissors with sharp ends | For cutting materials. |
2. | Ruler, pencil and square | For marking templates. |
3. | Satin ribbon of the required color | Decorate the neckline. |
4. | Dark bias tape | For wrapping a cognac bottle to match the color of the jacket. |
5. | Polyethylene and thin thick cardboard, threads | Form the base of the jacket; polyethylene will protect the cognac from glue. |
6. | Thematic fittings and decorative elements | Select based on similarity to the insignia of the military branches. |
7. | Glue, needle and thread | For fixation. |
8. | The basis | A bottle of good cognac or other strong drink. |
This is a general list. In the work schemes discussed below, you may need decoupage and foam napkins, pieces of thin leather and fabric, aerosol paint, a zipper, coins, etc.
Sleeves of unwanted shirts or sweaters can also be turned into gift wrapping
A little time - and for your loved one’s birthday an exclusive gift will be ready that will amaze the most discerning company.

When choosing between Irish Jameson and American Jack Daniels, you need to focus on the taste preferences of the person who will drink it. Here, again, it’s better to ask whether varieties originally from Ireland or America are more to your liking.
But, if such information is difficult to obtain, then we take any of the two presented. Whatever suits your taste, they are both wonderful in taste.

Wrap in paper
Lush bottle packaging
You will need a square or round sheet of paper, as well as ribbons and possibly tape. The paper size is approximately this:
- if it is a square, then its side is equal to the height of the bottle multiplied by 2
- if it is a circle, then its diameter is equal to the height of the bottle multiplied by 2
We lay out the sheet on the table, put the bottle in the center, lift the edges of the paper up, collect it and secure it with a ribbon. For reliability, you can use tape.
How to beautifully package a bottle as a gift?
To make the packaging look even more magnificent, you need to take not one, but two or three types of paper at once, placing them one on top of the other: for example, one is a bright accent one, the other is translucent, the third is transparent. You can “play” with the edges of the paper, making them curly.
If desired, additional decor can be applied: for example, small Christmas balls, sweets, flowers, beads, etc.
Instead of paper, elegant fabric is also suitable for lush packaging.
The packaging for the bottle is laconic
We will need:
- thick wrapping paper
- double sided tape
- scissors
- neat bow
1. Place the wrapping paper wrong side up.
2. Place the bottle on top and wrap it in paper, making two turns.
3. Cut off the excess.
4. On one of the long sides we make a bend of 1-2 cm (“we bend the face” towards the wrong side).
5. Glue double-sided tape to this edge.
6. Wrap the bottle, starting from the edge opposite the adhesive edge. Leave a few free centimeters of paper at the bottom of the bottle - this will be the bottom of the package.
7. Having reached the adhesive edge, gently press it, fixing the resulting tube.
8-9. We decorate the bottom of the package: carefully tuck in the paper and seal it with double-sided tape.
10-11. Place the bottle vertically. Squeeze the free top edge of the package. Leave 6-8 cm of paper above the neck of the bottle and cut off the rest.
12. Wrap the top edge twice, centimeter-wise, and secure with double-sided tape. Glue a small bow to the front of the package.
Japanese style paper packaging
1. We take two types of paper: red and white. The paper should be soft, but hold the fold line well. The size of the sheets depends on the bottle (length and width are approximately twice the height of the bottle). The papers lie one on top of the other.
2. Make folds on the paper in one direction, pressing and smoothing the folds. The size of one fold is approximately 2-2.5 cm. Fold until you get a narrow strip. The edge, if it differs from the rest of the folds, is cut off. Unfold and separate the sheets. Before us is paper with clear parallel fold lines.
3. We pleat the sheets. Take the lowest fold line and fold it towards you by about half a centimeter. Press and smooth the fold. We do this with each fold line, moving higher and higher.
4. Secure the pleated with tape, gluing it to the wrong side of the sheet. We do this with both sheets.
5. We connect the sheets using double-sided tape, making sure that the folds on them are directed in one direction.
6. Turn the sheet inside out. Place the bottle diagonally in the bottom corner and wrap it. Secure the end with double-sided tape.
7. We decorate the bottom of the package. We cut off the excess and wrap the paper, securing it with tape.
8. Take cardboard or a thick card and cut out a circle to fit the bottom of the bottle. Glue the circle to the bottom of the package for stability.
9. Decorate the packaged bottle with ribbon and/or other decorative elements.
How to pack a bottle as a gift? In Japanese!
Japanese-style bottle packaging: option two
This is an extremely simple method with a very aesthetic result.
We will need paper that holds the fold line well. The sheet should be square. The length of the side is approximately twice the height of the bottle.
1. Fold the sheet in half diagonally. We get a triangle. If the paper is double-sided, you can fold it not quite in half - so that the edges of the two sides of the triangle differ in color.
2. Fold the triangle in half and smooth it to mark the center line.
3. Starting from one of the bottom corners, fold the paper into a fan until we reach the center fold line. Each fold is 1-1.5 cm.
4. Place the bottle in the corner of the smooth half. We glue the corner to the bottle with double-sided tape. We wrap the bottle to the center line and again fix the structure with adhesive tape.
5. We do not wrap the corrugated side around the bottle, but press it in one place and secure it with a tie (ribbon, braid, etc.).
Paper packaging with pompom or “curls”
The bottle is wrapped in the same way as described above in the instructions “Lactic packaging” (up to point 9). However, the upper free edge is not cut off, but cut into strips. Each strip must be pulled between your finger and scissors. As a result, the top of the package will become “curly.”
Types of whiskey
There are several types of whiskey, which differ in the principle of production. Among them:
• malt whiskey (Single Malt) produced by one distillery; • malt whiskey from a mixture of products from different distilleries (Pure Malt). Single Cast Malt, or single-barrel whiskey, also applies here.
Sometimes they also consider a classification that takes into account the raw materials for making a strong drink - for example, they talk about barley, corn, wheat whiskey. If the bottle is marked Blend, this means that the whiskey is mixed - for example, the product contains both malt and barley whiskey.
Pure grain whiskey contains the Grain label on the packaging. It is found quite rarely, and in terms of cost it is the most expensive of all varieties. It also has 3 types:
1. Single Grain – whiskey from the same enterprise; 2. Grain Single Barrel - a product from the same barrel; 3. Pure Grain – a mixture of products from different enterprises.
All these characteristics are important for true connoisseurs of good alcohol, so when purchasing whiskey in London stores, it is a good idea to pay attention to the corresponding marks on the packaging. They also indicate the authenticity of the product
The most popular and most sought after brands of whiskey from different manufacturers are listed below.

- An excellent herbal-infused Czech Becherovka or German Jägermeister would be a useful gift for both women and men.
- Sherry is suitable for mature men who know a lot about this drink, or, on the contrary, for those who like to try something new.
- Madera and Porto will undoubtedly delight all those who prefer lower strength drinks and want to enjoy a glass of strong wine.
- Cahors as a gift is always appropriate for a person of deep faith. The best option would be Kagor from Massandra, for example, Yuzhnoberezhny.
Decoupage
Decoupage lovers have access to many techniques for decorating bottles. This is a special, creative process that will require you to be patient and attentive to all the nuances.
Types of decoupage:
- napkins for decoupage;
- cloth;
- toilet paper;
- vintage accessories;
- skin;
- eggshell;

As you can see, the scope for creativity is inexhaustible. Everyone has access to one or another technique for decorating bottles of alcohol. The main thing is your desire.
Who is cognac suitable for and how to choose it
Cognac will appeal to connoisseurs of a soft and multifaceted taste. In general, this option will be a win-win, because expensive and aged cognac can at least become a source of pride for the recipient. The main difficulty lies elsewhere - where to find a really good drink that can be classified as elite.
The first rule when choosing cognac is: always buy alcohol in specialized boutiques, stores or from an exclusive dealer. Only in this case can you be sure that you have purchased a real aged drink and not a counterfeit.
You can also check the quality of cognac during the purchasing process. For this you need:
- Review the label. It should not contain any traces of glue. Pay attention to the markings too. The higher the “star” rating of cognac, the better, because the number of stars corresponds to the years of aging (VS - 3 stars; VSOP - 4; VVSOP - 5; XO - more than 6 years of aging in barrels).
- Check the consistency of the drink. To do this, just turn the bottle upside down and watch how the liquid inside drains. High-quality and aged cognac leaves a special mark on the walls, similar to that of liquid honey.
What can we advise beginners in the selection of elite cognac?
This is a great example of a French drink created from exceptional grapes. It is known that Napoleon himself preferred this drink.
Sequin decor
Another original “packaging” option is decorating with glitter. Such a bottle can be safely given not only for the New Year, but also for any significant event - anniversary, wedding, engagement, homeland and christening.
This luxurious decor will not leave anyone indifferent and will not cause problems in your work:
- First, remove all labels from the bottle;
- place an unnecessary sheet of paper or fabric under the bottle to be decorated;
- arm yourself with a can of aerosol paint of the desired color (gold, silver, multi-colored);
- spray glitter twice from a distance of fifteen cm for even coverage;
- let dry.
Remember to protect your hands with gloves. This way they will remain clean and the decor will not be damaged by fingerprints.
An elegant and elegant gift is ready.
