Let's talk about a wonderful anniversary celebration, how to organize an anniversary at home on your own. In general, if we talk about the anniversary date, then it is 50 years, the rest of the dates are round. But what prevents us from turning any round date into a celebration of an anniversary? I just celebrated my husband’s 45th birthday, I want to share how everything went, what we ate, what we did.

The invitation was received by the closest friends, relatives, and selected work colleagues; in the end, 22 people gathered. To say that it was hard is to say nothing, but the one who walks will master the road, and in order to please my loved one, I tried my best. I hope my tips will be useful, I suggest discussing them in the comments.

After compiling the list of invitees, first of all you need to think about how you will seat your guests, where and at what they will sit. Ideally, the table is long and 90 cm wide, but most houses don’t have such tables, you have to assemble them from several tables, the problem here may be the width and height. For a big celebration, you can take out some of the furniture and put the tables in the shape of the letter “L”. Don't forget to think about the tablecloth. If the table is more or less clear, you can ask your neighbors for a while, for example, but with chairs it can be quite difficult. It would be beautiful if guests sat on chairs covered with embroidered covers with bows and monograms, but let this remain in dreams, our task is to create an economical version of the feast, to focus on a cheerful, spiritual holiday, and not on its pomp and pretentiousness. At one time, I worked for quite a long time in the catering industry, I had to shortchange banquet menus more than once, so I recommend that for cold cuts you buy 30-35 grams of each type of meat, 20-25 grams of fish of each type. fillet per person. Prepared salads and a total of no more than 300 grams. It will be enough for one person. In order to prepare 50 gr. meat, this is a standard portion per person, you need to take 80 grams. raw pulp without seeds. Next, I’ll tell you about tricks on how you can reduce the cost of a feast. I suggest using various kinds of baskets, tartlets, snack eclairs; they will quickly satiate your guests and at the same time make the festive table beautiful and impressive. For example, I made assorted fish in a large basket, coated it with melted cheese inside, put a piece of white fish, red fish and black halibut caviar, garnished with a sprig of dill and parsley. Such baskets with salads also look very beautiful, and eclair snacks are not inferior to them. Imagine, a person ate such a small basket of salad and he is already full. It is good to make canapés with thin layers of bread, for example with herring. Spread a little mayonnaise on a piece of rye bread, then herring, a thin slice of lemon on top, an olive and place everything on a skewer. Various types of roulettes look elegant. A spicy cheese snack is wrapped in a thin piece of ham, try replacing the cheese with cottage cheese, add garlic, herbs and mayonnaise, this snack turns out more tender, it can also be wrapped in thin pita bread. True, it turns out a little dry for my taste; I prefer the appetizer with salmon in lavash. Spread the entire sheet of lavash with melted cheese, sprinkle with dill, lay out thin pieces of salmon or trout, wrap and cut crosswise.

In the end, this is what my menu looked like:

1. Meat dishes. I used 3 types of meat as an assortment: brisket in homemade onion skins, rare pork neck, cold-cut sausage, liver pate in the form of a roll with carrots and eggs, fried chicken, meat salad (my husband’s favorite - I couldn’t help but make it) , chicken salad, ham rolls with cottage cheese appetizer.
2. Fish dishes. Tartlets with assorted fish, fried fish with onions, squid salad, decorated with red caviar, canapés with herring.
3. Vegetable dishes. Greek salad with cheese, assorted pickles (sauerkraut, pickled gherkins, pickled cherry tomatoes, canned mushrooms), Korean carrots, pickled ginger, lecho, olives, olives for decoration.
4. Solyanka.
5. For main course, I served pork in the steppe style, this dish already has a side dish in the form of a “fur coat”, garnished with a handful of salad mix (white dacha), cherry tomatoes and olives (I prefer those with pits, they are juicier).
6. For dessert, my husband's niece prepared a dessert for all the guests. She is only 14 years old, but everything is so simple that she managed it without difficulty. This dessert has no name, or I simply don’t know it, and is prepared without baking. True, there is one drawback, it would have been ideal to serve it in portions in vases, but you can’t have enough vases for 20 people, we made it in a baking tray and when serving we simply cut it and laid it out on a plate, there was no aesthetic beauty in this design, i.e. It didn't look like a banquet dish, but it was very tasty. The guests did not even fully understand how this dessert was prepared.

The last hour before the guests arrive is the most exciting time; the final preparations are completed, all family members preen themselves, put themselves in order and appear in all their glory before the guests. Finally, everyone sat down, got acquainted, decided on drinks, and the ceremonial part began. All invitees begin to honor the hero of the day, congratulate him, and give gifts.
