Summer is not only a time of vacation and holidays, but also a time of active work for counselors and teachers of children's camps. And while the children are gaining strength before the new school year, the camp teaching staff spends all their efforts to ensure that the children’s vacation is as interesting as possible. But, as in any work with people, not everything in a children's camp always goes according to plan.

Suppose you bring your children to the cafeteria, but lunch is not yet served, and the cafeteria workers refuse to let you inside. Or all the children have already gathered and are ready to go to the sea, but bathing time has not yet come. In this case, your task is to quickly occupy your time with something. What do we do?

Play games

From “There is contact” and “I” to “A crow flew” and “Bang-bang”. Every self-respecting counselor has a whole collection of games just for such cases.

If you are just getting ready for your first shift, and your piggy bank is empty, then it’s time to collect it from game collections (for example, summercamp) and advice from more experienced colleagues. VKontakte, for example, has quite a few groups for counselors, in some of them you can find quite a lot of practical advice for all occasions of camp life.

And if you need to keep the guys busy in the building, you can play one or two games in some board game - you took at least a couple with you, right?

What to do with children at school camp?
Author: Tatyana Aleksandrovna Trubina, primary school teacher at Municipal Budgetary Educational Institution Secondary School No. 9 with in-depth study of Eastern languages and cultures.
This article will be useful for educators and counselors at a summer camp at the school.
It's about what to do with children at camp. Despite the fact that general programs operate there, the guys are often left idle, which is fraught with various incidents. Organizing the free time of your students is one of the main responsibilities of a teacher. Goal: Organizing recreation and health improvement for school students during the summer. Objectives: 1. Increase the health potential of each event due to its health-saving components.
2. Take into account the interests, needs, and capabilities of children when constructing activities 3. Bridging the gap between the physical and spiritual development of children through play, cognitive and work activities. 3. To develop communication and tolerance skills in schoolchildren. 4. Create a system for the physical health of children in a temporary group setting. 5. Instill healthy lifestyle skills and improve health. 6. Involve children in creative activities, develop creative thinking. 7. Develop and strengthen connections between school, family, and cultural institutions. So let's get started. What to do with children at camp?

1. Sports.
Play volleyball, basketball, badminton or football. Everyone knows these sports games. Those who do not want to take part should be fans or judges. 2. Creativity. Here, at a health camp or at a summer day care site at a school, the teacher must think about every minute of his time. This is why I wrote this short article. It all depends on the age and gender of the children. Younger students will enjoy sculpting, drawing and making appliqués. With older children it's more difficult. Girls will enjoy weaving rubber bands, and guys may be interested in a complex construction set. 3. Decorate the premises of your squad: draw posters, a wall newspaper, stick a photo of each child, writing something about him. 4. Treasure games, hide it, and place notes around the camp. Each of them should indicate the location of the next one, and the last one should indicate where the “treasure” lies. This is a great option for keeping your child occupied during the holidays at camp! 5. Excursion or hike. Before engaging children in camp with this interesting form of leisure, obtain permission from the director. They need to know when, where and what kind of squad you will be and how soon you will return. There must be several adults with children. Come up with the purpose of the hike - shoot a video, take a photo, collect materials for crafts, hang bird feeders, etc. 6. Make a video about the camp or your squad. This can even be done on a mobile phone. The main thing is to then edit it on the computer into one video sequence. Or maybe you can make an entire film by writing a script for it? 7. Theatrical actions. Prepare a dance, skit or funny song with your whole squad! 8. What else can children do at camp? Games! These can be board games, such as lotto, chess and checkers, as well as active ones: relay races, fun starts, around the world and much more. Have fun!

Anwser the questions

Younger kids may not be as interested in your stories about university, but that doesn't mean you won't have anything interesting to tell them. Invite them to ask you questions. Why did you decide to become a counselor? What was your favorite subject at school? When will we be allowed into the dining room? The questions may be different, the main thing is to try to give the most detailed answer to them. After this, not only will the children learn something new about you, but you will also look at yourself from a different, childish perspective.

Implement crazy ideas

Sometimes ideas come into our heads that we usually ignore because they are “stupid” and “will be laughed at.” Children's camp is a great place to implement these ideas. Why don't we start singing hymns in praise of our king? Which king? Didn't you know? Petya is our new king! Or not paint stars on your face with face painting? (The main thing is that none of the children are allergic to it - do not forget to check this with the children themselves or their parents.) Anything, but, of course, within the bounds of decency.

Educational session at the city camp

A mini-shift during the autumn holidays is an excellent option for parents of schoolchildren who are afraid to leave their child at home alone. In the camp, the child is busy, fed, walked, learned new things, got acquainted, and the regime is intact.

Younger schoolchildren can go on a play session, choose a creative or dance direction. For older children, there are a variety of thematic programs in city studios and centers; you can even engage in scientific research or research work.

Nature lovers can organize a walk to the Botanical Garden. There are excursions to greenhouses and the opportunity to purchase exotic plants so that you can then grow them at home and show off photographs of your green gardens (the only pity is that it is open on weekdays until 18:00).

Board game party for friends

One evening you can invite friends and acquaintances to your house! Uncover a couple of favorite board games, take out a construction set (while mom hides the tablet and laptop), prepare treats and drinks, feel like a hospitable host and manager of the holiday. After all, it is a special pleasure and an important life skill to receive guests!

The week of autumn rest will fly by quickly, but during this time the child can have a great time, gain strength, get involved in new activities and strengthen self-confidence. This means that the new school quarter will start easier.

U-mama wishes your family a good mood during the holidays and many joyful activities!

Country walks and family holidays

During the autumn holidays, you don’t have to go far from home; the whole family can have a great time in nature. Going to a sanatorium or recreation center for a few days is a great opportunity to combine entertainment, improve your health, communicate with family and make new friends!

If it’s difficult for the whole family to get out of town for the entire vacation, go on a one-day hike! Fresh air, space and sounds of nature help you take a break from the bustle of the city, recharge with confidence and tranquility, and remember your navigation skills and cooking over a fire.

How does everything work there?

Yes, just like in an ordinary summer camp. Children are divided into groups by age. Each detachment has its own teacher from among the school teachers and a couple of cheerful counselors. High school students become counselors. The squad also has its own name and even a motto. Well, the honorary role of the head of the camp is most often performed by the school director or his deputies. All teachers working on shift are responsible for the life and health of children.

Can they be expelled from the camp? They can. For example, for very, very bad behavior. Expulsion is also possible at the request of parents or for medical reasons.

Admission rules

Admission to the camp is limited by age. The youngest children are 7 years old. These are former first-graders. The oldest... it may be different here. Somewhere they take up to 14 years old, and somewhere only up to 12.

Since the school camp is mainly attended by children who study at this school, most often an application from their parents is sufficient for admission. Find a sample application from your class teacher. The main thing is to write it on time so as not to be late, since the number of places is limited. You may be asked to attach the following documents to your application:

  • copy of passport;
  • a copy of the child's birth certificate;
  • medical certificate from the pediatrician.

Leisure

Fortunately, the city has many places where adults and children can stretch their muscles and show off their skills. Jump on trampolines, climb vertical surfaces at the climbing wall, swim in the pool and ride down the water slide in the water park!

Physical exercises charge you with vigor, include concentration, willpower and self-confidence, and after exercise - complete relaxation is included. Or maybe you have long wanted to go to the shooting range with your child? Or to the skateboard track? Rollerblading? Holidays are the best time to realize your plans!

What do they feed?

Children's meals are provided in the school canteen. Meals occur two (breakfast and lunch) or three times a day (breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack). It depends on the length of the children's stay in the camp. Of course, I can’t describe the exact menu for you here. But I know for sure that children are given soup and porridge, and various cutlets with side dishes. The camp menu also includes juices, fruits, buns and sweets.

To be honest, Alexandra didn’t like the food. But at that time she didn’t like my food either. She didn’t like any food at all, except Nesquik breakfast cereal with milk. It was very difficult to feed her, I would feed her like that.
