PREPARATION FOR THE HOLIDAY OF CLEOPTRA AND PHAROAH
1.Invitations to Cleopatra's festival
What is the first association you have when you think of Egypt? Well, Cleopatra, of course. What else? Pyramids, sand, papyrus... Exactly! The only option (and I think not a very bad one) for designing the invitations also came to my mind. I decided to make them in the form of an ancient manuscript. This is what happened!
Of course, making such invitations requires some effort. First of all, be able to use a simple computer program - Paint. With its help, a geometric pattern on “papyrus” was created. In the center we make the inscription:
“Queen Cleopatra considered you, ________ (name), worthy to be present at the great ritual of serving beauty! Come on ______ date. "
And at the bottom there is a note (for parents): “Don't worry! We'll just play Egypt. This game is safe for the health and life of your children."
The edges of the printed invitation need to be glued to ordinary Chinese rice sticks. Tie the folded manuscript with a ribbon and give it to the guests! All! It's time to prepare more serious props!
Play area equipment, decorations
We decided to celebrate our daughter's birthday in the garden behind the house. There were two weighty arguments behind the choice of this decision: outside the window there was summer in all its abundance, and we were the happy owners of our own house with a small garden area. True, the program of the holiday required the creation of some kind of mysterious room: a boudoir, a washroom, an art studio...
And we created it! True, with my father’s enormous assistance. We couldn't have done it without him!
In order to make such a hut yourself, you will need: four two-meter metal posts (they must be buried in the ground, and even, for guaranteed stability, cemented), thick steel wire (with its help the frame is made) and 32 meters of white fabric. For decoration - ribbons of different colors and lengths, which are attached (also to a wire frame) using safety pins.
We covered the “floor” of the tent with old carpets, which we were going to throw away later. We divided the “queen’s boudoir” itself into several play areas:
- workshop (table on which we placed the coloring sheets); — bedchamber (sofa with soft pillows); — spa salon (a place where girls will have a mud bath for their hands and makeup); - dining room (the place where the festive dinner will take place).
Before entering the tent, the girls (according to the plan) had to take off their shoes, put them in a basket, put on soft slippers (like medical shoe covers) and a beautiful “Athena” ribbon on their heads (a symbol of the goddesses of the ancient world).
Costumes and accessories for Cleopatra's holiday
Another important touch to the portrait of the celebration of female beauty is clothing and “precious jewelry.”
I made these wonderful “golden” bracelets myself! And you will never guess from what! And the secret is simple: a cardboard tube of paper towels (or toilet paper), pasta, glue and a can of gold spray paint. All!
Secrets of Egypt - an adventure full of mysticism and mysteries!
The “Secrets of Egypt” quest, the script of which the birthday girl’s parents initially liked so much that they did not want to change anything about it, caused real delight among the children. After arriving at the room where the game was held, the children met the host of the holiday and went to get 13 stones with ancient Egyptian symbols inscribed on them. These stones were supposed to awaken the mummy and help find the treasures of Ancient Egypt.
During the exciting journey, children took part in real excavations, met the pharaoh and his sacred cockroaches, and solved secret codes and puzzles. They emerged victoriously from the mirror labyrinth of the pyramid and were able to outwit the god Anubis by outplaying him at ancient cards. One of the most difficult tasks was deciphering Egyptian signs, which turned out to be a spell to awaken the mummy.
And although the ancient mummy seemed scary, she was actually kind and friendly and helped the team get the treasure. This was followed by tea drinking, presentation of gifts and the taking out of a wonderful cake. After such reinforcement with the transformed leader, the children went to dance at the disco. Imagine their amazement when paper ribbons began to fly from above. Bursts of laughter and enthusiastic screams, funny games, burying and throwing pieces of paper at each other turned out to be a very fun and exciting activity. Time passed very quickly behind him.
If you want to give your children the same gift and order the quest “Secrets of Egypt” in St. Petersburg, then just contact us by phone or through a special application form on the website. We will help you organize the entire event, think through the holiday scenario down to the smallest detail so that every child, regardless of age and preferences, leaves the game happy and satisfied. Children really like the quest and leave no one indifferent; even adults will be interested. And you will remember such an original holiday for a long time, looking through the photographs taken.

PROGRESS OF THE HOLIDAY IN THE STYLE OF CLEOPATRA
Games and entertainment
When all our charming guests had gathered and changed their shoes, we invited them to join the creative process of creating the image of the Egyptian queen. Namely, to make for yourself a collar decorated with precious stones. I gave the girls previously prepared white paper “collars” and mother-of-pearl gouache. They drew “pebbles” with their fingers. It turned out great!
When the “little Cleopatras” were completely ready, we began to play. Our game was called: “Guess how the queen of Ancient Egypt rests?” To begin with, I turned on the music and suggested that they learn a few “Egyptian” dance moves. The girls caught everything on the fly! And soon we began to “travel” in dance from one play area to another.
Our first stop: Hand peeling “Building Pyramids”.
A portable sandbox - a wooden trough is not too difficult to find on the farm. Well, if it so happens that you don’t find anything truly wooden, an old children’s bathtub (for babies) or a flower box may well serve this purpose well. It is important to decorate it like wood: paint it or cover it with a special film.
The girls built “pyramids” using my silicone cake molds, and at the same time, as it were, applied “scrub” to their hands. It turned out quite original!
Second stop: Beauty salon.
(addressing the girls): Now, by secret ballot, we will determine the pyramid that turned out best. The one who owns this ingenious creation will be awarded the opportunity to be the first to be in the chair of an “Egyptian” manicurist.
Before the manicure, our guests received a mud mask with Dead Sea minerals and a massage using shea butter. And then they corrected the shape of the nails and painted them with gold polish.
(also to girls): I invite all other girls (so as not to get bored while waiting in line at the “Egyptian spa”) to take part in creating a new style for the ruling generation of pharaohs!
The girls were given coloring books prepared in advance. They drew with crayons the pharaohs of those times as they imagined him. And let me tell you, it turned out great!
Third stop: Egyptian Royal Make Up.
I asked my sister to participate in this entertainment. She is a professional makeup artist. However, I think every mother can draw arrows with black eyeliner and apply bright red lipstick to her little guests’ lips!
As at the previous “stop,” so that the girls would not get bored while waiting for their turn for makeup, I suggested that they start creating “jewelry” - bracelets, rings, beads and “precious” stones.
They then took these crafts home with them as a memorable souvenir of the Egyptian holiday!
After all the planned procedures were completed, I invited the girls to rest a little in Cleopatra’s “amber bedchamber”.
There they looked at the stones (which the school geography teacher kindly lent us for the holiday) and admired their reflections in the carved mirror!
Meanwhile, I was ready to surprise them further! Only this time you could taste the “Egyptian miracle”!
Treat
In accordance with the tradition that existed in Ancient Egypt, the queen's table must be rich. But the food on it should be healthy and wholesome. We met both conditions!
The main masterpiece of the festive table (which I am very proud of, since I prepared it with my own hands) was a cake in the shape of an Egyptian pyramid. My girls especially loved the crispy puffed rice that we used to decorate the sweet structure!
And of course, everyone was delighted with the real French bread and cinnamon rolls, which I served hot, straight from the bread machine! Eating it, especially with hard cheese and grapes, was a pleasure!
In the evening, when our whole family was summing up the results of the holiday, discussing what worked and what didn’t, the mother of one of the participants in our “Egyptian party” called. She thanked her and said that she had never seen a more original and calm holiday. It was nice, of course! This is probably the highest reward for our efforts. And, perhaps, the eyes of our daughter, full of adoration, who for several more days ran around the house with Egyptian ideas!
Meeting with guests
You can hold an Egyptian party in an apartment, private house, country house or in a cafe. This will be difficult to do in nature.
To immediately set your guests on the right thematic wavelength, you need, as they say, to take the Egyptian bull by the horns. We need a spectacular meeting! You can make it look like this with the help of actors-animators in stylized costumes. Place two athletic young guys in Anubis costumes at the entrance. Shocking images will not leave any guest indifferent.
Animators can also be involved in festive photo shoots, holding competitions and entertaining those present. If there are a lot of guests, it would be nice to attract several waitresses dressed as Cleopatra.
Hand out cool Egyptian-style props at the entrance; it will not only lift your spirits, but will also be an integral element of a beautiful photo shoot.
"Accurate shooter"
Amphora:
Attention! A sandstorm is coming our way! To move on, we must pass one more test. Let's see which of you can become an Egyptian marksman warrior!
The presenters take out two buckets or plastic basins and balls. Children are given balls, and buckets are placed a short distance opposite them. Each child must throw a ball into the bucket, for which he receives a prize (sticker, candy, etc.).
Nefertiti:
Amazing! Now our pharaoh has strong warriors.
Legend
The Egyptian princess Ankhesenamun (one of Akhenaten’s daughters) hid jewelry in her father’s tomb that she wanted to pass on to her worthy descendants. Each piece of jewelry is a talisman that brings good luck.
In 1821, many Egyptian burials were plundered by looters, and the princess's box ended up in England, passed from one European collector to another. In the 20th century, the trace of Ankhesenamon's decorations was lost.
Several years ago, copies of 12 papyri appeared in different countries, which were written down at the behest of Ankhesenamun. Each of them contains an encrypted letter, but no one was able to make a word out of them and solve the princess’s riddle.
Only to the one who glues all the papyri into one long scroll and writes the secret word will the princess give the treasure. Each scroll begins with a horoscope. Find your date of birth and read about your superpowers, look for your purpose. This is interesting!
Design of invitations
An option to invite by phone with the words “Come in if anything happens!” it will not work. It is important to hand each guest a thoughtful and beautiful inviting card. Here are a couple of good design ideas.
Option 1
An interesting option for an invitation to an Egyptian party would be a papyrus scroll rolled into a tube and tied with thread. To do this, you will need to buy special “papyrus” paper or make it at home, and also print out the text of the invitation in Egyptian style.
To prepare aged paper you will need: black tea, white sheets.
To make paper with the effect of antiquity, you should brew strong black tea and lower the sheets there for 5-8 minutes. Then take them out, dry them, write the text, roll them into a tube and bandage them. Alternatively, glue sushi sticks to the ends of the sheet so that you can roll the paper.
Invitations can be decorated with prints with Egyptian hieroglyphs, images of pharaohs, scarabs, sphinx, pyramids and other symbols of Egypt.
In the text of the invitation, be sure to indicate the time and location of the holiday, as well as the presence of a dress code. It is better to report it in an original way, for example, with the phrases:
- “The Sphinx will only allow those who are sober, energetic and dressed in ancient Egyptian clothing to the party. And he will only let out the drunk, the cheerful, and it doesn’t matter what.”
- “The judge of the kingdom of the dead, Anubis, will allow those dressed appropriately for the ancient Egyptians to enter the party. The rest will be sent to hell in Egypt.”
- “The keen eye of the god Ra sees your robe... and what is under it. So even the underwear should have an Egyptian theme. Otherwise he won’t let me in!”
Option 2
Print out a pyramid template on cardboard, carefully glue the shape together, and insert a note with the text of the invitation in the middle. You can write it either on regular paper or on non-special paper, reminiscent of papyrus.
Room decoration
The pharaohs and queens of Egypt adored luxury and literally bathed in it. The decoration of the party room should correspond as much as possible to the mysterious time of the reign of the pharaohs and convey the chic and beauty of their everyday life. Well-known symbols of Egypt are required: pyramids, Sphinx, tombs, scarabs, hieroglyphs, sand, mummies, camels, caravans, the Nile, the eye of Ra and others. The more symbols of Egypt there are in the room, the better. If only everything looked harmonious.
Cats were adored in Ancient Egypt. This animal was considered sacred and is still revered to this day. Therefore, cat figurines will be very appropriate in the decoration of a room.
Traditionally, the ancient Egyptians sat on cushions at low tables. If possible, and the guests do not suffer from radiculitis, organize just such a feast. A tablecloth with gold threads, beads and tassels at the corners will look good. Scatter fake jewelry and “gold” coins (for example, made from chocolate) on the tables.
Lay a carpet on the floor, scatter pillows embroidered with gold threads throughout the room. Place real or artificial palm trees in the corners of the room. Other large house plants will also work.
To enhance the thematic mood, use attributes such as bowls of sand, velvet curtains, silk shawls and brocades, emphasizing the luxurious life of the rulers of those times.
It is important to recreate the right ambiance at an Egyptian-style party. Twilight will be more appropriate here than ever. Let only lighted fragrant candles floating in bowls of water softly illuminate the room. Dim lighting will add mysticism to the celebration. Candles can be used in any size; the more, the better.
If your budget allows, you can arrange some kind of tent in the hall. To do this, you need to install metal stands in the room, stretch a wire between them, and carefully cover them with a cloth. The tent can be decorated with multi-colored ribbons secured with safety pins.
It's hard to imagine an Egyptian party without at least one mummy, especially since it will be needed for the quest (link at the end of the article). It can be made from a mannequin, just wrap it in bandages with black and red streaks painted on it. The “mummy” should be placed in a “sarcophagus”, constructed from a refrigerator box, previously covered with expensive fabrics. It’s hard to think of a better attribute for photography. The background for the photo shoot will be a huge poster with pyramids, camels and a lot of treasures.
When decorating the room, remember that the Egyptians did not overuse bright colors. Particular attention was paid to four colors: red, yellow, green and blue, each of which had its own special meaning.
