An original idea for an Indian-style party (+ 42 photos)

India is an amazing country where interesting customs and traditions are intertwined with a centuries-old culture of religion and art. That is why an Indian party is a great opportunity to plunge into the world of amazing cuisine and traditions.

In order to fully immerse yourself in the atmosphere of this amazing country, it is advisable to learn at least a little about the culture, way of life and traditions.

Before we talk about how to organize an Indian-style party, let's take a closer look at India.

So, some interesting facts:

  • In India, there is a caste system that divides the entire population into unique social and cultural layers. That is why, most often, the husband and wife in a family are either from the same caste, or the husband is higher in social status than the wife.
  • In India there is a ritual of throwing children from the roof :).. A child is thrown onto a tarpaulin stretched down so that he gets health and courage! According to eyewitnesses, the tradition is completely safe :)..
  • The cult of goddesses and animals is very common in India. Thus, the wife of Brahma, Saravasti, is the goddess of science and art, but Lakshmi, the wife of Vishnu, symbolizes the goddess of the family hearth and comfort.
  • The sanctity of cows, elephants and snakes is an important aspect of the life of any resident of India.

As you can see, the Indian party scenario is not just a costume ball, it is a whole science of how to create a beautiful thematic celebration in compliance with interesting traditions, rituals and games!

Indian style party scenario

Modern holidays are increasingly distinguished by original ideas and a creative approach to organization. Simple parties with chips and favorite music began to get boring. But theme parties came to the rescue, bringing joy and innovation to the meetings of loved ones. Organizing such a party will take a little work, but it is definitely worth it.

Indian style attracts with its mystery and charm.
When you remember something Indian, associations immediately arise with songs, belly dancing and luxurious costumes. But, in order to organize a truly Indian party, you need to get to know all the traditions and customs of celebrating this country.
An Indian-style party can be held to celebrate a birthday, New Year, March 8, or just to have fun. Depending on the occasion and possibilities, the first thing to take care of is the premises. It is recommended to choose a spacious and large room for the holiday, so that there is an opportunity not only to chat, but also to dance in oriental style. After deciding on the place of celebration, you need to choose decorations.

Decor

Start by determining your color scheme. The red spectrum is ideal for the background. But not flashy colors, but halftones - deep, warm and calming (brick, salmon, cherry). If the background is bright red, the design should contain a lot of wood and clay, brown decorations - they will smooth out the explosive effect of the scarlet color.

Relaxing beige, blue, green foliage colors, and purple shades are suitable as the main ones. It is highly desirable to have a golden color in compositions and any decorations.

The second step is choosing fabric, which should be a lot at an Indian themed party. Panels on the walls, curtains, canopies, drapery of furniture and ceiling - imitation of a tent. Or the tent itself, if the party is held outdoors. More often they use plain textiles of several overlapping shades, less often - two or three contrasting ones.

Only now can you start decorating a house or cafe hall in the Indian style, “drawing” a recognizable colorful interior on the prepared background. We offer party ideas that are simple and not too expensive:

Indian wool carpets will add coziness to the atmosphere. Hang it on the wall, throw a few rugs on the floor. Persian ones are quite suitable - at first glance you can’t tell the difference. In nature, carpets are also needed - in the recreation area, the path in front of the tent and a large one inside. Striped woven/woven rugs will fit;

scatter bright pillows of different sizes and shapes, with ethnic patterns, across the floor/furniture. Suitable patchwork, Indian cucumbers. Some pillows can be decorated with beads, tassels, fringe, patchwork appliqués;

decorate the space with flower garlands (peonies, chrysanthemums, and other “fluffies”). Instead of fresh flowers, you can make paper pompoms and buds - bright, airy. Use the petals in compositions - put them in water with candles, sprinkle them on the edges of dishes, scatter them on the floor. Draw or print an image of a red lotus - the symbol of India;

at an Indian-style party there should be quite a lot of candles - everywhere, in groups of 3-5 pieces. Decorate jars, bottles and other containers for them with stained glass paints/outlines. It is very easy! Repeat an ethnic pattern found on the Internet. Or outline it by placing a piece of paper with a printout inside the jar (then the jar is painted from the inside after creating the pattern);

transform chandeliers and other lamps by replacing ordinary lampshades with beaded lampshades. This is also easy and does not require special skills. You can simply gather the beads into long threads and hang them vertically on a wire frame (kind of like a curtain). Look for ideas for color combinations on the Internet - the effect produced by the “Indian style” depends more on the correct selection of shades than on the complexity of the weave/pattern;

use figurines, images, prints of Buddha and Hindu deities. Vishnu, Brahma, Shiva, etc. – bright, fantastic, very colorful. Hang paintings, antique drawings, photos of attractions, temples on the walls. If you are having an Indian movie themed party, print out photos of actors and stills from popular films;

borrow Indian style brass/copper utensils from friends. Similar souvenirs are brought from Turkey and other eastern countries - without special knowledge it is impossible to distinguish. “Gilded” or “silver” trays, Turks and teapots, glasses and mugs, elongated jugs. Indian ceramics are very beautiful, especially painted dishes. Use what is simpler for presentation, place the most luxurious items in a visible place (a sign of wealth);

“invite” Indian animals and birds to the party. Elephants, cows, tigers, cobras, peacocks and herons, rhesus macaques. All of them are revered in India, are recognizable symbols of the country - they will add ambience to the design. Drawings, photos, images on scenery, figurines – whatever. For example, many friends probably have figurines of elephants with their trunks raised for good luck.

If you don’t find anything suitable, print out backgrounds for FS in Indian style (textures) and animal silhouettes. Attach the silhouette, cut it out - you will get colorful figures for decorating dishes, textiles, garlands, compositions.

You can create a jungle in nature. Place cardboard peacocks, tigers and elephants here and there, put monkeys in the trees, hide snakes in the bushes. Hang paper vines, place artificial palm trees and huge palm leaves.

Delicious recipe! What do you drink Schweppes tonic with?

Of course, it is not necessary to implement all of the listed ideas, especially if the party is for children. But for the Indian style to be clearly visible in the design, the decor should be colorful, rich and even a little excessive.

Scenery

Jewelry plays a very important role in Indian culture. They not only satisfy people's aesthetic needs, but also symbolize a state of mind. In India, it is customary to decorate the walls of rooms with garlands of flowers. They create incredible comfort in the home, as well as a feeling of a joyful event, a holiday. Flowers, however, should be chosen bright: pink, red and yellow. These color combinations will help you create oriental comfort in your home.

And so that the Indian spirit really penetrates the room, you can buy incense sticks with scents of your own taste and place them throughout the room.

Candles are a very important element of the interior when it comes to Indian style. In addition to incense sticks, you can decorate themed vases. To do this you will need glass bowls, flower petals, and candles, preferably of different colors. Pour water into a bowl, decorate it with petals and place candles. The energy of water will combine with the light of fire and give life to the room.

Energy characteristics are also a very important part in Indian culture. Therefore, if you want to reproduce the Indian style at your holiday, then you need to place figurines of Indian deities in the room. Only then, in the house or other place where the holiday is to be held, will the spirit and traditions of the Indian people be felt. As for lighting, it should not be too bright. Candles will add their own light and you can add the light glow of lamps to it.

In general, especially for the New Year, you can use multi-colored light bulbs, which can become both a subject of lighting and at the same time a decoration for the room. And now the most important thing in the room is the festive table. For those familiar with Indian culture, it is no secret that people in this country sit on the floor to eat. Thus, you need to set a very low table, preferably a long one, but if there are few guests, then a square one can be used. Use pillows instead of chairs. The colors and small details of the decorations are determined by taste, but do not forget about warm oriental tones.

Room decor

An Indian party should be done in rich colors and shades. That is why gold and silver fabrics, various bright colors - pink, yellow, lilac and violet, as well as silk pillows, canopies and tents will be very appropriate.

An interesting solution would be to “immerse” guests in the atmosphere of a real jungle by printing images of palm trees and the shores of the Indian Ocean, wild animals and the incredible beauty of birds. As a musical accompaniment, you can play the sounds of the wild, where charming birds shout to each other in the dark and jackals howl :).

Place figures made of wood, clay or glass everywhere - elephants and monkeys, wild animals and birds - they best characterize the animal world of India. But it is better to highlight the vegetation in the form of lotuses with beautiful candles floating in the dish.

Don't forget that your Indian party can be decorated with grandma's home runners, coasters and pillows made from fabric scraps!

Don’t forget about the paintings that best characterize India (for example, the Taj Mahal, images of elephants).

Menu

When the room is ready for the holiday, you can take care of the menu. Each country has its own tastes, preferences and culinary traditions. For example, when we talk about Paris, a great breakfast with croissants and a cup of coffee immediately comes to mind. If we talk about Mexico, then we remember spicy chili and fajitas.

What are the features of Indian cuisine ? The main and very important feature is the absence of beef . In India, the cow is considered a sacred animal, so you should avoid meat products and dishes at an Indian-style festival.

As for the menu features, Indian cuisine is famous for its spices . But here you need to cook without fanaticism, so as not to overdo it.

Ethnic fruits will be very tasty ingredients for dishes. They can be easily bought in stores. These are, for example, pineapples, mangoes, bananas, coconuts, papaya and others.

As for drinks, tea is the ideal choice in the non-alcoholic range. Indian herbal teas are known all over the world. Various variations of these teas are available in stores in every country today.

In the preparation of main dishes, special attention should be given to vegetarian cuisine; otherwise, snacks and additional delicacies can be added to taste. Desserts are also important. If the party is held in Indian style, then desserts made from milk and sugar must be present on the tables.

Invitations

In India, roller invitations that resemble a scroll are very popular. On expensive paper, with bright ribbons or gold braid with tassels. The “roll” is placed in an equally elegant box. Sometimes the message is accompanied by an incense stick/candle, a sachet of petals, or a paper lotus.

An invitation to an Indian party in the shape of a lotus looks original - a postcard or origami made from a sheet of paper with text. If the holiday is in the style of a movie, you can paste a photo of the actor/hero on the cover, make a fake ticket for a show or a poster.

Postcards-books are also appropriate, but add a drop of symbolism to the design - an ornament, a sacred animal and / or gilding in combination with bright shades. To write the text, use a stylized Indian font (available on the Internet).

Suits

When you have taken care of such important things as the room and kitchen, all that remains is to think about the external image of the guests. To ensure that everything turns out harmoniously and in the desired style, guests can be warned in advance that it is necessary to choose an outfit in the Indian style. Then everyone will create their own individual image. But we can all prepare together by purchasing the necessary goods for this.

For women, the theme wear for an Indian party is the Saree . A sari gives femininity to any representative of the fair sex, regardless of age. A sari makes a woman mysterious and charming, modest and beautiful. The sari needs to be rewound several times around the waist, thus forming a dress, and then the end of the cloth should be wrapped over the shoulder or thrown over the head. Fastening with pins and brooches will not provide much trouble and will help you feel free in this attire. Sarees come in such a variety that any girl will find a fabric for herself. But if girls do not want to wear a Sari, then you can replace it with a suit of wide pants, a loose tunic and a scarf, which in most cases is thrown over the arm.

For men, themed costumes are also required. In Indian style, men's traditional clothing is a long, loose shirt called a kurta . pants match it . In cases where the party is held in the summer, or on the beach, a man can wear only wide pants without a shirt and without shoes, respectively. The same goes for girls. Especially those who plan to perform belly dancing. In such cases, a Sari will not work; a dance costume is required. These can be loose wide pants and a top decorated with multi-colored stones.

Indian outfits

The evening will truly be in Indian style if everyone present is dressed appropriately. Traditional women's clothing in India is the salwar kameez and sari. Note that the salwar kameez is clothing that is understandable to Europeans; you can construct a similar version of it yourself from wide pants, a tunic and a light scarf. The same way to put on an Indian sari is worth learning.

In any case, you can prepare bright stoles and Indian skirts in advance and invite guests to wear them. Don't forget about jewelry: big earrings, beautiful necklaces, lots of bracelets on your arms and legs.

For a girl, the easiest way to visually transform into an Indian is a bindi. In the absence of special paint, it can be painted even with simple lipstick.

We will not ignore the representatives of the stronger sex. Hindus traditionally wear a kurta (a very long, wide shirt) along with various types of pants. But increasingly, European style is predominant in men's fashion, especially in large Indian cities. Therefore, if men come to your evening in their usual clothes, that will also be quite Indian.

Makeup

Makeup is very important when it comes to looking like an Indian woman. It is unique and not characteristic of any other country; therefore, the poet needs to become familiar with the peculiarities of Indian aesthetics in order to maintain style in everything.

Surely everyone knows that Indian women almost always have a red dot on their forehead. It can be pasted or drawn, if desired. But just a dot will look very simplistic; to add richness to the look, use jewelry that is attached to the hair and decorates the forehead. Hair should be neatly collected or beautifully styled. Eye makeup is bright and rich. It is recommended to use pink, brown shadows and black eyeliner. Lipstick should not be provocative, but juicy.

You can organize a Mexican-style party.

Script and traditions

Planning an Indian-style celebration can be completed after determining the necessary decorations and costumes, but then the atmosphere will be incomplete. It is better for future newlyweds to think in advance about what and how will happen at their wedding so that everything goes without any hitches or inconsistencies.

If guests are assigned certain roles, they need to be informed about this so that they have time to prepare. The spectacle can be played out even before the official ceremony - the ransom of the bride can take place under the guise of her abduction by an Indian gang and subsequent rescue by her lover. He will need to go through various tests to prove his love.

After he saves the bride, they will be able to go with the wedding cortege to the registry office or to the site of the outdoor ceremony. The wedding can be imagined as the marriage of a rajah with an Indian princess, so the atmosphere and congratulations of the guests should be appropriate.

Another option is to act out the script of one of the popular Indian films. In this case, a lot of music, songs and dances will be required. You can complete the Indian-style wedding scenario with a spectacular show, such as performances by yogis and extreme actors with fire and swords, or with a bright fireworks display.

How to entertain guests?

When everything is prepared for the holiday, all that remains is to relax and celebrate. Entertainment must be accompanied by Indian themed music. She herself is very energetic and cheerful, so she won’t get bored at the party. Themed dances can also decorate the holiday. You can, for example, organize a competition to teach belly dancing or group dance. For women, painting with henna on the body will be a very exciting activity. This is a long-standing Indian tradition, which is now borrowed by many women of other nationalities to create their external image.

You can perfectly add your own competitions to the stylistic Indian holiday that will amuse the people. You can remember some historical events in India and reproduce them in a skit. Or, for example, try to create a movie plot. This can not only strengthen your general knowledge of Indian culture but also help you have a good time. You can arrange a meditation and bring the Indian style closer to Buddhism. In this case, you can get closer to the guests and create a warm atmosphere.

Entertainment

  1. You can give your friends and family a dance performance accompanied by Indian movie music, or by reenacting scenes from some of the most popular Bollywood films. In addition, you can turn to professional dancers for help, if, of course, there are any in your city.
  2. You can arrange some spectacular games so that many guests take part in them, for example, it could be a quiz. If you need questions for a quiz, you can also visit the relevant sites, choosing the oldest films, they will certainly be known to everyone, so everyone will be interested in playing.
  3. You can play the game "Antakshari". The first player starts any song that he knows. He needs to sing the first lines of the song, and the next participant must continue singing, but his song must begin with the letter with which the previous song was completed. If the participant finds it difficult to answer, he is eliminated, the one who remains last will remain the winner!
  4. You can also hire a DJ to keep your guests dancing all night! It is imperative to film all the action with a camera or camera - such a bright party should remain for centuries!

Creating a fragrant atmosphere

The main thing for such a party is the aroma. India is incense, incense, essential oils, sandalwood, patchouli, cloves, ginger, etc. The main thing to remember is that all the aromas of India are warm, soft and enveloping.

You can light special incense sticks or use aroma lamps, or you can place small saucers with aromatic spices and pieces of citrus around the apartment. Place a few drops of wild orange and clove essential oil on a cotton pad and place the pad in a secluded corner - after a while a wonderful smell will float around the room, bringing dreams of a hot summer.

French style party: 3 ideas

Furniture

Initially, even the filling of palaces and houses of wealthy nobles was as simple as possible; the furnishings were formed using roughly knocked together objects. Today, national Indian furniture is a work of art. It is made of natural wood, and then additionally decorated with carved ornaments and elements of artistic forging, inlaid with stones, and at the finishing stage covered with glossy varnish. Tables and chairs, doors and shutters are made in this way. The interior necessarily contains elegant screens, wood panels, panels, and other decorative elements.

Traditional furniture does not have backs or armrests. She's all very low. There are sofas and armchairs; Indian style involves choosing velor or suede with a national pattern for their upholstery. It can also be used on skin for these purposes. In any case, the soft group, as in Europe, is additionally decorated with pillows. There should be a lot of them. Pillowcases for them are sewn from various “rich in texture” fabrics, and then additionally decorated with beads and large beads. The sofa may also have a coffee table with a glass top and massive, intricately curved legs.

Themed wedding: visiting India

In the previous article “ Themed wedding in Indian style ” we already talked about decorating a themed wedding in Indian style and ways to create the desired ambiance. Now let's look at some other important nuances of preparing for a themed Indian wedding and the possible course of this festive event. So, the future newlyweds decided on the theme and concept, chose a place for the holiday, prepared its decor and their costumes. Now it's time to invite guests.

Indian style wedding: invitations

Since the wedding is themed, the invitations should differ from the standard romantic ones. They should reflect the essence of the event. The design of the invitations is, of course, related to the idea of the wedding event. You can invite guests, for example, to a movie show:

“Bollywood Pictures presents the Indian romantic fairy tale “Dance, Dance at the Wedding of Alice and Roman!” Unexpected plot twists, breathtaking special effects, exciting music and a stunning ending await you! The only show will take place on September 14, 2011 at... Showtime starts: 7 p.m. Do not miss!".

Such an invitation is issued, for example, in the style of a movie poster or a colorful ticket to a movie show.

Or you can invite in another way:

“Do you want to be in Goa, plunging into the world of the fragrant east, warmed by the scorching sun? And all this without leaving your city? Come to our Indian wedding and feel like a tourist or an Indian, if you wish. India is beautiful, and an Indian wedding is even more beautiful! We will be infinitely glad to see you at the Indian holiday dedicated to our marriage. The celebration will take place (time, date, address).”

Before preparing wedding invitations, you need to decide not only the theme, but also the key points of the wedding. If you want the appearance of the guests to correspond to the theme of the celebration, put an additional card in the invitation envelope (for example, in the shape of an Indian sari, Indian woman, elephant, etc.), on one side of which describe your wishes for their appearance. By and large, it will be enough to indicate: “Clothing style is Indian.”

Indian style wedding: redemption

The traditional redemption for us may not be carried out. Or you can include it in the program by introducing several Indian traditions and rituals. The groom, as already mentioned, arrives at the bride’s house on a white horse. Moreover, this horse may be iron, but it must be decorated with garlands of yellow and red flowers. The bridesmaids and relatives of the bride greet the groom and his friends with joyful exclamations. At the same time, they shower the groom and his entourage with coins, after which they put a garland of banknotes (Indian rupees) around the groom’s neck.

Then you can arrange various tests for the groom and his friends. For example, give your friends the task of turning into... an elephant that will carry the groom a certain distance. For this test, you need to prepare an embroidered blanket that will be thrown over the back of the elephant.

If the groom and his friends are distinguished by creativity and talent, you can offer them the following test: give them a large piece of red material and fabric paint in cans, giving them the task of decorating the bride’s sari with painting. When the painting is ready, the presenter will say that the sari must first be shown to the bride - if she likes it, then she will wear it to the registry office (this must be said in all seriousness so that the groom is really afraid that his betrothed will put it on herself). Well, if the bride rejects the sari, the groom and his friends will have to pay a ransom.

Other possible ransom tests: eat Indian halva without hands, weave a wreath of fresh flowers, confess your love to the bride in body language (Indian music is turned on, the host reads a line from a poetic declaration of love, and the groom tries to display it in his body language).

If the bridesmaids decide that the groom has passed all the tests, he will be asked to sit on a flat stone near the bride's house. In a few minutes, the bride will be carried out into the street sitting on a palanquin (something like a stretcher). According to Indian tradition, men carrying the bride on a palanquin must circle around the groom sitting on a stone seven times. After this, the stretcher is lowered enough for the bride to stand up. The young people look intently into each other's eyes, and then put a flower garland around each other's neck. In India, after this, the young people go to the temple-tent, and our young people sit on a white horse (in a white car) and go to the registry offices of Moscow and other cities.

Indian style wedding: banquet

At the entrance, guests can be offered some elements for transformation. After all, even if the dress code is stated in the invitation, it is not a fact that all guests will be able to comply with it. Women can be offered bindis, saris, bracelets, and men can be offered embroidered belts and turbans. Well, regardless of gender, you can wear flower beads and bracelets to your guests.

When all the guests have gathered, the host will invite the young people to go to the temple. This tent temple needs to be made open enough so that guests can see everything that happens there.

You can organize a symbolic temple-tent like this:

The young people enter the mini-temple and sit on cushions. Witnesses and immediate family may enter the temple. There should be a fire burning in the center of the temple, but you can get by with a few lighted candles. The host or another person performing the function of a symbolic priest will invite the young people to take an oath.

The Indian oath of those entering into marriage translates roughly as follows: “ We swear to be together through thick and thin, until the day death do us part .” After this, the newlyweds must tie the ends of their clothes and take seven steps around the fire, asking for blessings on their marriage.

Then the groom puts a red stripe on the bride’s parting (you can use red eye shadow in a compact box), the host ties the hands of the young couple with a flower garland and declares them husband and wife, blessing them for a long and happy life.

Immediately after this - general joy, the return of the bride and groom to the guests and inviting them to the table. This, of course, is not all rituals. And those described are slightly adapted to our conditions and traditions. But we already made a reservation in the first part of the article that we are not talking about an Indian wedding in its classical sense, but just about stylization.

Indian themed wedding: entertainment program

At the beginning of the wedding, you can entertain the guests with an Indian mini-film about the bride and groom . Everything should be in the spirit of Indian cinema: meeting, falling in love, the first kiss, an obstacle, overcoming an obstacle, a bunch of found relatives after twenty years of separation, Indian songs, dances and, of course, a happy ending - a marriage proposal.

To make the holiday a success, you can invite dancers specializing in Indian dances, fakirs (the number with the snake will impress), fire lords (Fire show), acrobats-yogis. But with due diligence, you can do it on your own. Indian dance can be prepared by the bridesmaids, and the groom's friends can show tricks, including with a snake, only a rubber one. Various games and competitions will amuse guests.

Indian style wedding: games and competitions

Game "Zita and Gita". The first to participate will be the groom, the bride and one more girl. The presenter announces: “In the Indian film, the sisters Zita and Gita were so similar that even the grooms confused them. But will our groom be able to recognize his beloved if she and the other girl are as indistinguishable to him as Zita and Gita? The groom is blindfolded with a scarf. He must recognize his new wife by her scent. The groom can only slightly lean towards the girl sitting on the chair and inhale her aroma. If the groom recognizes his beloved, he will receive a kiss as a prize.

Then you can invite married male guests who came to the wedding with their other halves to participate. You can make fun of one of the participants: blindfold him, and seat two completely strangers on the chairs for the participants. Will a man feel that the scent of these two beautiful ladies is completely different from the scent of his wife?

Game "Fast Indian". Several men are participating. Each person is given a very long piece of cloth. Task: tie the fabric on your head with a turban as quickly as possible. Whoever is faster wins.

Game "Indian Elephant". The presenter says that in India the elephant is a sacred animal that brings good luck and prosperity. And if the elephant is made of hundred dollar bills, then the degree of luck and prosperity will simply go through the roof. Therefore, the best talisman for a young family is an elephant from a banknote. Who wants to give such a luxurious gift to the newlyweds?

Several participants are selected and divided into pairs (it’s easier and more fun to make an elephant together). Each couple is given an origami diagram “Elephant” and a large fake one hundred dollar bill (it can be found on the Internet, enlarged in a graphics editor and printed in the required quantity). Participants can tear the bill or change its shape, if this is according to the scheme. The pair whose elephant is ready first wins. Elephants are given to young people.

If the diagrams are too complex, you can give another task - cut out an elephant with scissors from a large fake banknote. Whose elephant turns out to be the most similar to the original wins.

Game "Tasters". In India, as you know, various spices are highly valued. The presenter will offer to check how well our housewives understand spices. Women participate (bride optional). Each spice is poured into a separate beautiful bottle with a number. The host has a list of spices by number.

The girls, one by one, approach the table with the bottles. The presenter asks you to find certain spices (for example, three spices). The participant sniffs the contents of the bottles and names the numbers of those that, in her opinion, contain the spices named by the presenter. The presenter does not immediately say the correct answers, but invites another participant, giving her the task of finding other spices. At the same time, the presenter records how many correct answers each participant gave. When all the participants have taken part, the presenter will announce the results, naming those who really understand spices.

Game "Body Language". A volunteer is called. He is given a piece of paper with a famous children's rhyme (this could be, for example, the quatrains of Agnia Barto). Quiet Indian music is turned on, and the participant begins to “tell” the poem using only gestures and dance movements. Viewers know that you have to guess the nursery rhyme. If the rhyme is correct, then the player who showed it receives a prize and the title “Guru of Indian Dance”. As many people can participate as the number of poems prepared by the presenter. If the audience cannot guess the rhyme for a long time, the participant leaves the “dance floor” without a prize. Spectators who guess correctly should also be given small prizes.

Creative competition "Mehendi". You will need red face painting paint and brushes. Those wishing to become artists and models are invited. The task is to paint the model’s hand according to the model. A sample is a rather complex diagram on paper. Moreover, all artists are given the same scheme. Whoever completes the painting faster and more accurately wins a prize. There are no losers here.

Game "Kama Sutra". The Kama Sutra, as you know, originated in India. This is not only a treatise on love, but also a guide for those who want to skillfully control their body. After playing the comic “Kama Sutra”, you can conclude who controls the body how. Couples participate.

In advance, the presenter prepares and places pieces of paper in some container on which various parts of the body are written. The presenter approaches the first pair and invites each participant to take out a piece of paper and read what is written there. Now one member of the couple must touch the part of the body that was written on the piece of paper he pulled out to the part of his partner’s body indicated on his piece of paper. For example, a man pulled out a piece of paper with the inscription “belly”, and a girl with the inscription “shoulder”. This means that now they must take a position so that the girl’s shoulder touches her partner’s stomach.

If they manage to take a pose and hold it, the participants draw out a second pair of pieces of paper. While holding the first position (for example, shoulder to stomach), they must perform a new touch in accordance with what is written on the second pair of pieces of paper. If, for example, you get “arm” and “leg” for the second time, it will not be difficult to do this. Well, if it’s “neck” and “elbow”, then you’ll have to try really hard. If you manage to make the second contact without breaking the first, the next pair of pieces of paper is drawn.

When, finally, the couple cannot achieve a new touch, their Kama Sutra ends, but they do not leave the game, but wait for the results of other couples. For each new touch, the couple is awarded one point. The couple with the most points wins. She can be given a diploma “Professionals in the field of Kama Sutra”.

Semi-erotic game "Roses and Lips". For the game you will need rose petals, of which there will be no shortage at an Indian wedding. At least two couples participate. At an Indian wedding, of course, there are not only roses, but also soft mats and pillows. The girls lie down on pillows and mats. Young people are blindfolded. The girls are sprinkled with the same number of pink petals. The task of young men is to collect petals from their partner’s body with their lips. Whoever does it faster wins.

Film and music quiz. At an Indian-style wedding, you can and even need to hold a film and music quiz. You should prepare a selection of music from famous Indian films, including both new and very old ones. After listening to a short fragment, guests must guess the film and remember its name. The presenter gives a small prize to each person who guesses correctly. The person who collects the most prizes can be awarded a diploma “Specialist in Indian Cinema” and a big prize - for example, a licensed DVD with the best Indian films.

Don't forget to prepare bonbonnieres for your guests, containing, for example, miniature elephants, cashew nuts and a few chocolate coins.

Have a fabulous Indian wedding!

Cloth

Of course, the most beautiful girls at an Indian party will be, because the traditional clothing of this country - choli - is the height of elegance, beauty and femininity. First, you need to put on a short top and a long skirt, and throw a fabric on top, which will serve as the rest of the costume. While the skirt and top can be plain and simple, the top fabric should be bright, embellished with embroidery and sequins!

There is also clothing that is more traditional for us - a sari (fabric, 4 to 9 meters long), which we wrap around the waist, draping it beautifully, and then throw it over the shoulder, securing it with a beautiful brooch, hairpin or pins.

A beautiful multi-layered skirt will be an excellent solution for girls.

If you are indifferent to a sari and want to wear trousers, then we advise you to opt for harem pants or leggings, which will create a beautiful ensemble with the salwar kameez - a traditional Indian dress worn by both men and women! An important feminine attribute in this ensemble is a long silk scarf – dupatta.

For men, there is a very beautiful clothing - a sherwani, which is like a long jacket that reaches the knee or mid-calf. Sherwanis are worn with churidars - loose at the hips and tapering trousers at the bottom.

An excellent solution would be the salwar kameez, a dress worn with trousers that Indian women and men wear.

The most striking element of a man’s costume can be the dastar or as it is called pheta - a turban worn by certain religious communities in India.
