Quest for husband's birthday
Probably, each of us loves holidays, especially when they are dedicated to us. But when a loved one becomes the hero of the occasion, the problem of choosing a gift arises. Moreover, this gift should be original, modern, beautiful, fashionable, and sometimes inexpensive. Nowadays, there are many different gift shops, whose windows are literally full of the most outlandish gifts.
But love and attention cannot be bought in stores. Thanks to DIY treasure hunting quest Irina Bondarenko prepared it for her husband’s birthday.
Preliminary preparation of the quest
So, to organize a quest at home you will need:
- 4 envelopes,
- felt-tip pens or markers,
- set of colored cardboard
- and 1 Kinder Surprise.
This quest is dedicated to finding a gift . It consists of 6 tips. Clues can be hidden in your apartment. From each clue found, it should be clear where to look for the next one.
Hints are best designed colorfully and beautifully. To do this you will need colored cardboard and markers. Or you can print ready-made templates.
Place cards with hints in envelopes that need to be distributed throughout the apartment. If desired, the envelopes can also be painted.
Remember that your husband will be looking for the gift you hid. Your task is to hide the gift in such a secluded corner that your spouse will not find it ahead of time.
And yet, there can be any number of hints. But don't make the quest too long or short. In the first case, it will be tiring, and in the second, the husband will find the gift too quickly and will not have time to fully experience the charm of the game. It is best to prepare a scenario consisting of 6-10 tasks.
Description of tasks
Below is a brief description of each task. Files prepared for printing with images of cards and instructions for organizing the quest are provided in a downloadable archive.
A simple warm-up task: letters are written on a card, from which you need to create a keyword.
Using the icons of sports, you need to determine their names and decipher the word.
In several groups you need to find extra words. This will help you get a hint where to go next.
There are missing words in the famous birthday song. You need to remember them, and then they will help you decipher the clue word.
It is necessary to compare the names of cities and countries in which they are located.
Knowledge of famous Russian literary classics and their works will help solve this problem.
Several interesting puzzles from which you can choose one or use all of them as you wish.
An interesting question about knowledge and erudition.
You need to find a few words in the wordword and understand what they are all associated with.
An interesting puzzle in which you need to fold a card in a special way to read a secret word.
To solve this task and read the word, you need to identify a pattern in the number series.
An interesting cipher made from figures.
An entertaining mathematical problem, the solution of which will help you decipher the key word.
It is necessary to identify a logical pattern and arrange the words in the desired sequence. The last word will indicate where to go next.
A classic task from a series of so-called “match puzzles”.
A super puzzle in which you need to assemble a square from four presented fragments. Only after this will it be possible to read the encrypted word.

1. Hint “Gift code” (mirror, pillow, nightstand). Colorful cipher. First, you need to decipher the letters using the key, and then make a word from them.
2. Hint “Vehicles” (newspaper, chair, kettle). Not an easy logic puzzle.
3. Hint “Firearms” (picture, printer, plate). An interesting task on making anagrams. Example from the tooltip: pilot set = pistol.
4. Hint “Tools” (box, photocopier, ladder, plant). You need to not only remember the names of the instruments, but also find the key to the code.
5. Hint “Gentleman’s accessories” (bag, shelf, cup). A fun task where you need to find the differences in two seemingly identical pictures.
6. Hint “Proverb in a square” (table, chair, clock). A task for ingenuity and quick thinking: you need to cut out 9 squares with letters and fold them into one large square so that you can read the proverb.
7. Hint “Alcoholic drinks” (door, magazine, mug). A fun activity to test your knowledge of strong drinks.
8. Hint “Sports” (envelope, telephone). You need to determine what sports the balls shown in the picture belong to.
9. Hint “Encrypted phraseological units” (calendar, computer, window sill). An original task for associative thinking. You need to guess which phraseological units of the Russian language are encrypted with pictures.
Quest script for a man
Task one
Prepare a card made of colored cardboard with an offer to complete the quest. Leave the following clue on the card: “The clue is in the envelope, and the envelope is with the striped predator. Find the envelope." In this case we are talking about a tiger. We have a lot of different crafts and soft toys in our apartment. One of my favorite toys is a tiger. I placed the next envelope next to him.
Task two
Write a hint on a cardboard card: “Look for the next envelope under the most exotic tree in our apartment.” To make it more interesting, the hint card can be cut into 8 pieces and placed in an envelope. On the envelope, write: “ Assemble the puzzle .”
This clue is about a palm tree. The fact is that my husband is interested in growing flowers. His favorite plant is dracaena, which in our family everyone calls a palm tree. I placed the next hint exactly under the dracaena.
Task three
Prepare the following note: “If you break through the wall, you will see silver, if you break through silver, you will see gold.” The answer to the riddle is an egg. Therefore, I hid the next clue in the Kinder Surprise I purchased in advance.
Task four
The hint included in Kinder Surprise reads as follows: “Russian-English dictionary, page 930, 1 column, second word from the top.” This word is stroller. In this case we are talking about a baby stroller. It was in it that I hid the next envelope.
Task five
Write the following on a piece of cardboard: “You need to climb Everest in our apartment.” This refers to the highest place in our apartments, namely the mezzanine. That's where I hid the last envelope.
Task six
The last hint of the quest is as follows: “Look into the coldest compartment of our North Pole.” We are talking about the freezer. It is in it that the present I prepared is hidden.
