Home This is interesting KVN at school KVN competition “Warm-up”

Warm-up is considered a very difficult competition. After all, it is in him that resourcefulness is manifested, the ability to find a funny answer, an interesting play on words in just thirty seconds. Warm-ups are usually played by two or three people in a team, the most fun players who know how to find non-standard answers. Therefore, there is no point in going out with the whole team. Of course, during rehearsals it is necessary to “lose” this competition: compose questions and give answers to them. The funniest jokes are selected to warm up for the game. Below are possible questions and answers that can be used in school games.

Exams are a difficult time.

Of course, the difficulties that a student has to overcome reach their apogee during this period. All this is reflected in sketches about students, funny to the point of sarcasm. After all, in order to survive in some situations, you need to approach many problems with humor.

Many funny skits on Student's Day describe a resourceful student whose imagination would be the envy of any science fiction writer.

For example, a young guy comes out to answer with a ticket in his hand. The professor wearily nods his head at him - they say, start. “Tent-poor and tentate titi,” says the student with his tongue hanging out. The professor’s eyes widen: “What??? Repeat, my friend, the question! What kind of titi are they???” The student says, sticking out his tongue, a clumsy phrase, which in translation will sound like this: “You see, professor, yesterday a dog bit my tongue!” - “This can’t be! How did this happen? “I was eating a sausage sandwich, and she ran past. She wanted to take my food away. Now I have a bitten tongue, and the dog has a bitten ear. And the question is: “Centrifugal and centripetal forces.” The professor nods his head, and the student, using facial expressions and gestures, tries to convey to him the answer to the question.

I’ll explain the structure of the world with my fingers

In general, the described episode can serve as a plot point for many interludes, starting wonderfully funny scenes. KVN about students will be inimitably decorated with a miniature in which the cunning pantomime talks not only about centrifugal and centripetal forces, but also retells the content of “Othello”, explains the structure of the atom, and gives an answer to the question “Fauna of Australia”.

Alternatively, you can include a translator from among the students who knows the subject well. An even cooler option would be when the pantomime of a young man who knows nothing is translated to the professor by the same idiot, but confident in his rightness.

It’s impossible to imagine this - it had to happen sometime!

Funny skits about students are mainly born from real facts. These are so-called short jokes turned into miniatures. Many funny sketches about students are based on the lack of money of this social layer, but the resilient nature of young people, aimed not at the present, but at the future, helps them “not to worry” about this. For example, situations associated with the saying “an eternally hungry student” may well become the seeds from which scenes for the student’s day, funny and a little sad, grow.

In the student canteen, a guy buys two sausages to take away. The fat saleswoman sarcastically jokes: “Something new... You, Petrov, are not going out, are you having a holiday?” - “Yes, Taisiya, I’m celebrating my anniversary... Yes, 18 more forks, please!” Students looking through the doors of the dining room, waiting for the hero of the day.

Initiation as a student

The funny skits that are always performed during this first student holiday exaggeratedly ridicule the life of frivolous young people. On the one hand, they don’t seem to care about grades, expulsion from school and the life difficulties that their fate faces. But on the other hand, now the student has other priorities, “saints” and “gods”. Therefore, funny skits about students at this event are to some extent based on young people’s fear of the dean’s office, strict teachers and exams.

Scene “The Cigarette Butt of Peace”

You can act out a humorous initiation into students, where the speech is given to the “elder”. The young guys sit in a circle, just like the Indians do. Instead of feathers, they have pens and pencils sticking out of their hair. They smoke a “peace stub” that goes around in a circle. In order for skits about students, funny and full of some sarcasm, to be successful, it is necessary to pay special attention to the outfit of the artists: the “wise elders” are dressed in tights with outstretched knees and torn T-shirts with funny inscriptions, and the “beginning youth” are in suits with ties and white shirts.

STEM

STEM (student theater of variety miniatures) is a gaming competition in KVN, where no more than three people can be on stage at the same time. This is a classic condition of this competition, but today it is very often violated for a number of reasons.

If we go completely into the history of the creation of this competition, we can say that it was invented to diversify the other two classic competitions - “Greetings” and “Musical Homework”. Since musical homework is, in fact, also a whole work, they came up with such a limitation - a game of three people. This was due to a forced situation when there was one less team on the TV channel. And, since KVN used to have more television broadcasts, it was necessary to do so in order to fill the airtime, without the visible absence of one team.

Every year the STEM competition existed, more and more new moves were invented. But this does not mean that this competition is written out. Today, a huge number of STEMs have been written and each of them deserves special attention, especially the classic STEMs in the KVN Major League.

What is STEM and what is it eaten with:

STEM is a work of art, an interesting story. If you want, an anecdote that is stretched to three minutes (sometimes up to five). Simply, three minutes is the time in which you can fit a dramatically complete story. A full-fledged work, in any case, presupposes the presence of dramaturgy: a completely finished work. Works with a beginning, middle and end. That is, at the beginning of the work, we set a condition or characters, then they develop and live according to certain rules, and at the end there is a culmination and denouement of this work, from which some thought usually follows in the finale.

What are the obvious STEM problems you'll encounter when writing:

  • It is very difficult to take a ready-made work of world literature as a basis. Every well-known work that is understandable to both you and the audience (and there are not many of them) is difficult to write funnier and more interesting than they were already written in KVN before you. In my practice, there was a team that brought STEM on the topic “Truffaldino from Bergamo”. And there was no chance for most of the audience to understand what STEM would be about and why it was like that. Secondly, in order to do STEM on the topic of a work, you need to have the brains to think and understand what this work is about;
  • The biggest problem is coming up with the actual work. You can get a good number, a good block of numbers, good jokes. But making a work is extremely difficult. This works best for authors who already write poetry or stories. Because they have the intuitive skill of completing a piece.

Actually, history. And where to start.

It is easier for young authors to start from an analogy with an anecdote. A joke always has an interesting story that you want to listen to further (in the case of KVN: watch and listen) “Lion issued a decree that in the forest you cannot write obscenities on trees”, “A Russian, a German and a Chinese are flying on a plane, and it begins to fall” – stories that are interesting in their development. A good story allows for a broad and interesting development of the plot. The more paradoxical and unusual the story, the easier it is to look for reasons for jokes and situations.

Rule #1: Don't be afraid to abandon a story that has already been written into. If a story doesn't develop or end, chances are it simply isn't viable. A good story, in absolute terms, can be written well in one and a half to two hours. The rest of the time is spent on jokes, mini-twists, and things that will make your story worthy of winning the competition.

What is a turn?

Any work has a twist - this is a situation or plot development that moves it towards the climax or simply captures the attention of the reader or viewer. In “The Master and Margarita” the first twist (you probably guessed it yourself) is the appearance of Woland on the Patriarch’s Ponds. In "Titanic" - the main character's won ticket to the ship. In mini-works like STEM, the authors usually do not have time to make several turns, so they use two: at the beginning of the plot, and at the end, when your whole story is already approaching the final thought.

What is the final (final) thought in STEM?

This is an indicator (primarily for the viewer and the jury) of how well you understand what you wrote about in your competition. In any case, the final code (final thought) should be about your work.

Rule No. 2: do not write far-fetched thoughts about your competition or individual incoherent aphorisms or phrases. This usually ruins the team and shows that their story is about who knows what. The biggest problem for teams is to follow tracing paper and broken information. Well, like, we need, well, code. Let's put any one. So it doesn't work in this case, just like with music homework.

Joke is the queen of any KVN competition.

If you are carried away by writing a work, you need to remember that KVN is a game of jokes. If there is a lot of dialogue in STEM and no jokes, your STEM is a losing one. You can’t just have conversations in KVN. Every line should either be a joke or suggest a joke. The methods for writing a competition are different. One of the effective ones is to write a story with jokes for 7 minutes, throw out everything that is without jokes or half-jokes and make a 3-4 minute, dense, good work.

How to prepare STEM for editing.

Oddly enough, but such a competition as STEM must always be shown on its feet! An editor is a living person, and if he doesn’t love you as much as his own children, there is a 95% chance that he will not listen to the text on paper, or even worse, he will say: “Yes, guys, it’s very cool, let’s do it.” and you will get C's for your competition. The editor must understand how your story will look at the event, because there is a very important rule - the editor puts together the concert! The fact that you are sitting and reading your masterpiece in front of him on hastily collected pieces of paper can throw you back into the very first assault on dispersing the idea. And this already, consider that before the game, you will need to come up with a completely new story, by the way, from your opponent, which may already be approved.

Rule #3: Don't look at other teams' stories or competitions. In my five years of practice, during the game itself with the jury and spectators, different competitions work completely differently. And here it is very important how your specific competition is prepared. Decorate your competition with props, acting, staging, and layout. Images and the likelihood that your competition will come into play will increase significantly.

Analysis of existing competitions.

KVN team "Astana.KZ" Major League. The final. 2010

Twist: the brother brings the development to the police department. There is the introduction of an additional character - Skorokhod, who lives separately from the general plot, but fills the competition with jokes and adds dynamics to it.

Second twist: they report that they have caught a thief with the development.

Final thought: in this competition there is no final thought; the competition ended with a joke about a minor character. Which, too, is acceptable in KVN, as long as the story is funny and interesting.

Play KVN, write interesting competitions. Win and become legends!

Always yours, Sergey Chumachenko.
