Decor
To get your kitties into the playful mood right out of the gate, turn your room into a furry paradise! This is easy, but requires some time - almost all the decor will need to be done with your own hands. And since this is a cat party for children, the design should be bright and dynamic. “Live” interactive decor in a cat style, interesting for children - this is a place where any cat can:
- climb to heights . A fence with multi-colored pickets and spreading trees along the walls. Cardboard, scissors, paints or drawings on whatman paper. The red-haired beauty is dozing, curled up comfortably on a branch. A black bully tries to grab a crow with his paw. Two minke whales collided nose to nose while walking along the fence - their backs were in an arc, their tails were in a pipe!
Populate the hall with cats in different poses and situations - then the children's cat party will certainly be remembered by guests as a bright adventure! On the Internet, by searching for pictures, it is easy to select the desired pose templates; all that remains is to redraw, color and cut out the silhouette.
- climb anywhere . Let the little cats peek out from behind the curtains (and, oh horror, swing on the curtains, clinging to the tulle with their claws), pieces of furniture, and flower pots. Cut out paw prints from colored paper and glue them... anywhere! One walked right along the wall, another managed to walk along the ceiling, the third along the closet door;
- to hunt . Of course, since this is a cat party for children, the hunt should be Tom and Jerry style - playful, fun. The picture of a mustachioed and striped paradise will be complemented by mice, birds, butterflies, and fish (toys, paper). There is also a lot of room for imagination in the form of mini-scenes with the participation of both sides of the conflict;
Make a number and birthday card in a cat style. For example, a photo of the birthday boy on a stand in the shape of a cat’s head, a figure made of mini balls or tassels (on a cardboard base), a poster held in the paws of cute little cats.
- play . Bright and in every sense touching cat decor - wool balls, pompoms, tassels (you'll have to plunder grandma's supplies). The balls can be hung from the ceiling, threads can be wrapped around a chandelier along with a cat that has created a themed “mess.” Multi-colored skeins in garlands, on tables, in baskets;
- sweet sleep . Murki are always associated with coziness, and it is advisable to reflect this moment in the party decoration - blankets with faces/footprints, pillows, faux fur covers, rugs here and there.
All that remains is to add purely festive decor in a cat style to the design:
- balloons with glued paper ears and mustachioed faces;
- balls wrapped in yarn or crumpled sheets of paper (fake balls);
- eared corrugated pompoms, circular fans;
- cat faces and paw prints, fish, and mice collected in garlands;
- “bouquets” of feathers, mice and other cat teases on sticks;
- themed pictures from your favorite cartoons.
Make an invitation to a cat party - for children it’s like a ticket to a holiday that you look forward to with joyful impatience! There is no need to invent anything overly complicated, the main thing is the gesture itself. Print a template from the Internet, buy a themed card, or cut out a party invitation in the shape of a cat - glue on whiskers and button eyes.
Don't forget to mention the dress code and color scheme if your event falls within a certain spectrum.
Cat Party
Sixth anniversary of Daryanka Quantity Leave your comment
Daryanka's new birthday has arrived. This time I decided to have a cat party. She took Natalia Zinovieva’s script “Festival of Cats” as a basis, and added and composed her own to it. That's how it was with us.
I prepared a greeting card for my daughter, found a picture with six kittens and glued my daughter’s face into each kitten, it turned out funny.
I sewed a fur vest and arm ruffles for my daughter, made a headband with ears, a tail and cat paint. And here she is, the queen of cats!
I pasted cat paw prints on the walls and cabinets, as if a giant cat had run through. In the hallway I hung portraits of popular cats (it’s very easy to do, I found pictures of cats on the Internet, printed them on a color printer, cut them out openwork and pasted them on colored cardboard).
She invited a face painter, and every little guest who came went into the dressing room for transformations.
They also put ears and a tail on him there. I made the tails from a boa and a pin, but the ears were more complicated. I cut out ears from fur, placed cardboard inside for stability, wrapped them around the headband and sewed them together with thread, and wrapped the headband with ribbon to match the color.
Well, when everyone turned into pussies, the celebration began.
Introduction
Cat: Good afternoon, I’m Mom Cat, I want to play a little. I have a fluffy tail, I came to visit the kittens. My voice is very thin, It is sweet and very ringing. I gently sing purr-purr-purr and invite the kittens to play.
1. Getting to know each other
Cat: Dear pussies, first let's get to know each other. As you may have guessed, I am Mother Cat. And let each of you come up with a funny cat name for yourself! Well, for example: Murchella, Lizushka, Growling, Fangs, Fluff, Paw, Kotyara, Bun, Button, Rivet, Timka, Ryzhik, Stripe... Have you figured it out? Then let's get acquainted!
2. Tangle game
Cat: I have a magic ball. (shows an ordinary ball of yarn) It will help us get to know each other! We stand in a circle and pass the ball around, saying our new name.
Then we change the rules and call the name of the person to whom we give the ball.
3. Riddle
Cat: Guess what I’m going to read you a poem about now?
My cat has a well-mannered friend: He respectfully follows her everywhere. And he won’t enter the door before her - He will politely let the cat go ahead. (tail)
(I turned Vladimir Orlov’s poem “Polite Tail” into a riddle by redoing the first line.)
Cat: Do you know why a cat needs a tail? The tail is needed to align the body position when jumping, turning, running and, of course, to express emotions. If a cat fluffs its tail, it is most likely scared or very excited about something. And in an irritated state, cats and kittens jerk their tails from one side to the other.
4. Pussy exercise
The cat shows, the kittens repeat to the music.
Movements: stood on all fours, stretched (butt back), stood up, bent in the back, arched in the back, snorted, sat down, washed the face with a paw, scratched the ears (can you do it with the back paw?), curled up, stood on all fours, arched the backs, wagged their tail, got ready to jump after the mouse, jump. Once again.
5. Guess
We come to a corridor where pictures of popular cats are hung. I show the children the picture and ask what cartoon this character is from and what his name is.
We had: the cat Garfield, the cat Matroskin, the cat from the cartoon about the parrot Kesha, the cat Leopold, the kitten Woof, Tom from the cartoon "Tom and Jerry", Stuffed Animal Meow, Kitty, the Cheshire cat from the cartoon "Alice in Wonderland", the cat Puss in Boots from the cartoon "Chip and Dale".
Puss in Boots was specially the last one, because... with him is the next competition.
Cat: But I have an interesting quiz about Puss in Boots, let's remember the details of the fairy tale.
6. Quiz
Cat: For each correct answer, I will give out tokens (I cut out hearts from colored paper in advance). Whoever has the most tokens wins a prize. We try, we guess!
Quiz from the book “In a certain kingdom...” by N. Koskova based on the story “Puss in Boots.”
1. What did the younger brother inherit? 1) donkey 2) mole 3) cat
2. What did the cat ask from his owner? 1) hat and sandals 2) boots and bag 3) gloves and socks
3. Where did the cat take the rabbit caught in the forest? 1) home to the owner 2) to the palace to the king 3) to his hole
4. What name did Puss in Boots come up with for his owner? 1) Marquis Vodolaz 2) Marquis Karabas-Barabas 3) Marquis de Karabas

8. What did the Cat do with the ogre who turned into a mouse? 1) dragged into the field 2) put in a cage 3) ate
7. Competition "Socks"
The game requires a lot of socks. I put my socks in a basin. The kittens stand in a circle and the music turns on. While the music is playing, the children run around the basin, but as soon as the music stops, the kittens must quickly put socks on their feet and hands as much as possible. At the end, we all count together who wore how many socks. Thus, the winner is the one with the most socks. A very fun competition!
8. Milk from a bowl
Cat: Seven kittens want to eat. I'll give them bowls of milk. Let them lap it up with their tongue, Because cats don't eat from a spoon.
I distribute saucers filled with condensed milk (you can use another dairy or fermented milk product). And we start a competition to see who can lap up all the milk from the bowl with their tongue the fastest.
Our kittens also asked for more.
9. Halt
Then we took a short break, because... the kids are tired. They ate, drank children's "Champagne", and said toasts in honor of the birthday girl.
The main dish is a salad in the shape of a cat, and of course sausages to the delight of the children.
10. Photo shoot
And the games continued...
11. Coloring plaster cat figurines
I prepared plaster cat figures in advance. Gave it out to the children for coloring. And temporary silence reigned... (the children took the figures with them as souvenirs)
12. Battle of the balls
Throwing balloons from one half of the corridor to the other. We divide the children into two teams, distribute the balls equally, and begin throwing the balls into the territory of the other team. The territory is divided by a line on the floor (construction tape, electrical tape). The team that has fewer balls after the “Stop” signal wins.
Our guys fought until we dropped, screaming and laughing.
13. Flexible pussies
A well-known game is to crawl under a rope that is lowered lower and lower. I didn’t even expect that the kids would like it so much!
And, of course, from time to time the children were awarded various small prizes.
14. Completion
Cat: One, two, The game is over, Oh, Mommy Cat is tired, It’s time to rest. Well, you kittens, brave guys, are invited to the table, I’ll bring you a cake now!
Well, then there’s cake with candles, tea and dancing. Everyone is very happy, especially the birthday girl!

Suits
To make a cat themed party a complete success, costumes are highly recommended: rented or made from thick fabric and decorated with fur. T-shirts/dresses with cats or paw prints will fit into the theme - many children have these in their wardrobes.
For girls, the image of a fashionista in a snow-white or pink dress, a cunning one in a bright red one, and boys - hooligan cats with an eye patch and a torn ear, will suit them. An interesting version of a cat costume for children is the image of a cartoon character (Leopold, Garfield, Puss in Boots, etc.). And the youngest guest can come to the party in the form of a touching mouse.
Ask parents to do cat-style face painting for their child if this is not part of the script. It’s simple, there’s a MK online – literally anyone can draw a mustachioed face.
If you don’t have much time to prepare, you can get by with cat themed accessories:
- fur boas, gloves with claws, fabric/fur ponytails with an elastic band or clothespin;
- cat masks, bright multi-colored “cat” glasses made of cardboard;
- ears on headbands (they can be easily made with your own hands from colored paper, fabric, fur).
Costumes must be comfortable, because this is a cat party for children - the scenario involves active games, competitions, and other entertainment.
Menu, serving
Everything you need to decorate a table in a cat style can be ordered online - this is a popular theme; entire sets are sold for parties: a tablecloth with spots/stripes or with a themed pattern (faces, paws), toppers, cupcake skirts, decorations for cocktail tubes.
Print themed wrappers for chocolates, decorate paper bags or boxes for bulk treats (jelly beans, crackers, candies). Bright, stylized dishes will add color (buy or draw cats with markers, glue pictures on paper cups).
The main menu for a cat party is ordinary, since it’s a children’s party – it’s better to do without any frills. Cat menu ideas:
- thin fish-shaped cutlets - roll out the minced meat, cut with a cookie cutter;
- colorful fish cookies are sure to please your kittens;
- make mice from halves of eggs, pears or strawberries;
- pour fruit and milkshakes into bottles labeled “milk”;
- put marmalade, marshmallows, candies in bowls (you can buy plastic ones at a pet store, they are made of the same material as dishes for people);
- for a cat-themed birthday, bake a mustache-striped cake or order a masterpiece in the shape of a cat, kittens playing in a basket, or a delicious mouse;
- Make ears, muzzles, and footprints from mastic to decorate cupcakes, pastries and cake pops.
