Of course, for a friendly company, good food and wine, music and dancing, a little fun, cool competitions, a lot of selfies and... But we weren’t looking for easy ways. It was decided to hold our corporate event (taking into account the fact that half of us are photographers) in black and white format.

Photographers have two visions for black and white photographs. Some argue that it is in black and white that the frame reveals itself to the maximum and becomes more significant. Others say: “My friend, you just have a problem with color, so you translated it into black and white.” We are for the first version.

Let’s be honest, we were not able to implement all the nuances of a “proper black and white party.” But it was interesting and I even wanted to repeat it, taking into account points that either were not implemented or were not completely successful.

We'll tell you how a b/w party should take place. First of all - the interior. The classic solution is black and white decorations without reference to any theme. Cover the walls and ceiling with inexpensive fabric or cheap paper wallpaper. We experimented in the editorial office and used black fabric.

Event agencies advise draping furniture as well. You can even take gauze fabric and attach black strips of paper, abstract bloopers or geometric patterns to the fabric, a “Dalmatian”, “cow” or “zebra” pattern - there is a wide choice, you don’t have to stop at a solid color. From corrugated paper it is not difficult to assemble lush flounces or bouquets, garlands for wall decoration or ceiling “hangers”. Don't have time to glue and cut? Then decorate the interior with contrasting balloons.

And now about what was not done at our party, but was worth it. The walls of the room can be decorated with b/w aged posters, playbills or photos of celebrities of a bygone era: Charlie Chaplin, Marlene Dietrich, Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe.

By the way, it’s best for partygoers to dress in the style of these characters. After all, the dress code in black and white is perhaps the most important and fun thing. Only black and white! No excuses about gray or dark blue. Anyone who breaks the black and white rule in a suit must be asked to take off anything “unformatted” upon entering. True, in the end you might end up with something like this picture...

Pay attention to details - hair color (wig, if yours doesn’t fit into the picture), makeup, manicure, accessories, shoes (any little thing will destroy the integrity of the picture).

By the way, the invitations themselves should also correspond to the theme. Unexpectedly - white text on a black background. Elegant - embossed paper or white cards with black lace. Or paper with a Dalmatian pattern.

All party participants must be required to bring their children's b/w photographs.

We sorted out the surroundings, menu and costumes. Now about the entertainment. The first thing to do is to take good photographs in all b/w photo zones. Was your effort in vain?!

Well, then – any competition games that sharply and contrastingly divide the participants into antagonistic teams. Dance battle or card "Mafia"? The choice depends on what you want - crazy fun or quiet gatherings.

From the category of “outdoor games” we recommend: 1. Dancing on a newspaper – a classic of the genre. The newspaper fits right into the surroundings! Couples dance to the music on the unfolded strip, after a while the sheet is folded in half, then in half again, and so on until the guests can move, standing closely on the newspaper. 2. Dancing with a newspaper. Option 18+. You need to move, holding the sheet with your bodies. The winner is the couple whose newspaper is the most crumpled by the end of the song. 3.
