All necessary equipment for the competition was placed in clear plastic bags, tied with ribbons and labeled. The bags were placed in a large box and the children were asked to “draw the bags” one at a time.

With older children (7-10 years old), you can be “a little stricter” and, to maintain healthy competition, give them “prizes”: “first, second, etc.” I try to choose gifts for children not according to the principle of “who won more or better,” but I study the preferences of the players in advance or buy fairly similar gifts. Competition “Compliments”. If the kids don't know each other, this could be a first and use it as a sort of dating competition.

They put gifts in cardboard rolls (leftover toilet paper) wrapped in colored paper (here, smiley candies). A long thread with a stick or pencil is attached to them. This is the most budget option for a suit, unless, of course, you use material from the Japanese company Hanebisho, which costs up to $17 per roll. The suit is made in a few minutes, and having played its role, it also quickly becomes unusable. Another downside to this fabulous costume is to avoid going into the water, otherwise you might end up with a pile of wet paper instead of the original costume.

• Perform it alternately on both legs, and then smoothly lower to the body.
• As a base, take 2-3 rolls of matte gray toilet paper. To prevent the material from unraveling and to last at least a few minutes, you can prepare several paper clips.

The fabric is cut into strips 5-7 cm wide; it can be torn by hand, then the edges will look more natural. If the selected fabric is white, it is worth “dying” it a little. To do this, the prepared strips are placed in boiling water with a dye, which can be strong solutions of tea, coffee or onion skins.

The basis of the suit is golf and training pants, thermal underwear.

Sew strips of fabric onto the base, starting from the bottom, securing each subsequent layer so that the bottom edge hides the stitch marks. The sleeves and trouser legs are sewn in the same way.

Important: It is not recommended to use pins to secure the planks.

Makeup and attributes

To prevent the mummy from looking too unrealistic, you can apply makeup to all exposed parts of the body.
The base will also work. Particular attention should be paid to the face, it should look pale gray, bloodless, for this the face is covered with white makeup.

It is advisable to highlight the cheekbones with a dark shade, which will create a thin and hunchbacked appearance. The eyes are outlined with a black pencil, and dark or yellow-green shadows are applied around the eyes, including the eyebrow area.

If the face remains open, you can draw a small spider web on the cheek or forehead with a black or silver pencil.

Tips for making a costume

Even a new mummy costume, which is called “brand new,” should look as if it was sewn more than a century ago. Therefore, a few practical tips will help bring your chosen image to perfection.

• For the female version of the mummy, only a short tunic can be designed. Complete the suit with white speckled stockings.
• Apply a few strokes of red paint to the costume, and our mummy will become not only scary, but also bloodthirsty.
• When sewing strips of fabric, leave the long ends free, this gives the product a worn and weathered look.
