The capital's parks and libraries, as well as VDNKh, invite you to congratulate your loved ones and celebrate Mother's Day with the whole family. On November 27 and 28, free historical excursions, educational lectures, various quizzes and master classes will be held there. Everyone will be introduced to the history of the holiday and told about what mothers were like at different times.
Events are planned in online and offline format. To participate, you must first register. When visiting cultural venues, you need to remember the safety rules - wear masks indoors and maintain social distancing.
Leisure for the whole family in Moscow parks
Parks under the jurisdiction of the capital’s Department of Culture offer to celebrate Mother’s Day by taking part in interactive games and master classes. They will be held on November 28 online and offline.
They will tell about the caring mothers of the animal world in the Severnoye Tushino park. Together with the State Budgetary Institution “Mospriroda” we prepared an interactive program “Mothers in Animals” for children. Children will learn how representatives of the wild nature care for their offspring, see photographs illustrating the tender feelings of cubs and their mothers, and also take part in an exciting quiz. The lesson will take place on November 28 at 11:00 in the Development and Creativity Club pavilion, which is located near the southern entrance to the park (Svoboda Street, property 50–70). To take part, you must first register. And at 13:00 young visitors are invited to attend a master class on scrapbooking. Children will be helped to make a bright greeting card for Mother's Day. You can try to draw a portrait of a mother and baby at an art master class at Krasnaya Presnya Park. It will be held online on November 28 at 16:00. Artists will need multi-colored watercolor pencils, brushes, an eraser, thick watercolor paper and a glass of water. The master class is intended for children over six years old. The lesson will be broadcast on the park’s official page on the Instagram social network.
On November 28, Lianozovsky Park will publish a video in which townspeople share their most pleasant memories from childhood. They talk about the songs their mothers sang, the stories they read before bed, and the family traditions passed down from their parents. The evening of nostalgia will begin at 17:00. The video will be posted on the park’s pages on the social networks VKontakte, Instagram and Facebook.

5. Funny stereotypes

Motherhood in different eras at VDNH
You can learn about what kind of mothers Russian queens and empresses were, how women cosmonauts managed to combine work and motherhood, and also about who inspired sculptors to create female images for the fountains and pavilions of VDNKh on November 27 and 28 at VDNKh. A varied program has been prepared for guests in honor of Mother's Day.
You can get acquainted with the history of exhibition sculpture on thematic excursions “Women’s Images of VDNKh”. How attitudes towards the role of women in the life of the family and society have changed over the centuries will be discussed during the excursion “The Word about the Mother”. It will be held on November 28 at 15:00 and 18:00 at the Slovo center for Slavic writing. Citizens will be introduced to written sources telling about the lives of women and motherhood in different eras. Participation in the excursions is free, but registration is required. For those who cannot visit, a recording of the excursion will be published on the official pages of VDNKh on the social networks Odnoklassniki and VKontakte.
The Doll Museum will also conduct excursions dedicated to outstanding women in Russian history. They played an important role in the political life of the country and at the same time were family keepers and mothers. Lecturers will talk about Princess Olga, Sophia Paleolog, the wives of Ivan the Terrible, Empress Catherine II and many others.
