Running on the waves
The children's holiday menu for a child's birthday must certainly include boat canapés. One type of boat can be made using half an egg, cheese filling and nachos. Cut 5 hard-boiled eggs and remove the yolks. Grind the yolks with cheese and 2 tbsp. l. sour cream. Place the filling in the halves. We attach a sail made of nachos on top. You can decorate such a snack with a blue napkin, then children will definitely get the impression that small boats are cutting through the waves!
Tips for organizing a holiday table
Organizing a children's holiday table for babies causes mothers a lot of trouble and questions.
To make the process of preparing for an important family celebration easier, use the following tips:
- Try to plan and create a menu for a children's party in advance. Think about which supermarkets and stores you will buy food for the holiday table. Write down the meals and necessary products in your diary. This way you can not only create a menu, but also calculate in advance the approximate costs of organizing the holiday.
- Buy only the freshest products. Never buy food many months in advance! Check expiration dates, especially carefully monitor the expiration date of fermented milk products.
- Cook at home. For children under three years of age, try not to buy ready-made salads and hot dishes. This way you will protect your kids from possible food poisoning after the holiday.
- Do not include new products and ingredients in the holiday menu. If your child has never tried fish or seafood before the holiday, you should not include them in the menu. The result could be a trip to the hospital with a severe allergic reaction rather than blowing out the candles on your birthday cake. Use only those products that your baby has been familiar with for a long time.
- For babies in their first year of life, try to prepare familiar dishes on their birthday. You can prepare a daily dish, but in a new version. This will help avoid indigestion or colic in your baby after the holiday.
- It is better to plan the holiday for lunchtime. Focus on normal time. For one-year-old babies, be sure to consider the regime. If your baby usually sleeps after lunch, he will almost certainly want to rest on his birthday.
- Don't overload the menu with too many dishes. Better prepare a good table for relatives, loved ones and friends who will come to congratulate your baby on his birthday. For the baby, a couple of types of snacks, hot dishes and a light dessert are more suitable. You can supplement the menu with fruits.
- Watch your portion sizes. You should not offer the birthday person a double portion in honor of his birthday. This will only harm the baby and can cause abdominal pain and bowel dysfunction. Stick to your normal eating habits, even on your birthday. This is very important for children under three years of age.
Merry swarm
Ladybird sandwiches are a great food idea for a children's birthday party. Take unsweetened cookies - they will become the basis of the snack. Spread with any pate and top each cookie with a green salad. Cut the cherry tomatoes in half and make a shallow cut to create the appearance of wings; ladybugs can also be made from cherry tomato quarters. We cut out the heads from the olives, small specks on the body and eyes can be made using mayonnaise and toothpicks, and decorate with dill. Cute ladybugs will not let your little guests get bored.
Cake for a one year old baby
The treat for the birthday person should include those products that he has already “mastered”; the dish just needs to be festively decorated. Place 1 candle on the cake (note that your baby will blow it out with your help).
The cake can be baked in the shape of a unit or some kind of animal.
You can make charlotte or modify carrot or rice cake recipes to keep the ingredients to a minimum. You can make “cakes” from fruits: cut melon, apple, kiwi into circles, fasten them with a skewer, and put a candle on top.
Bag of fresh fruit
The salad for the children's birthday menu is a prime example of edible decoration. We take a whole watermelon and beautifully cut off its cap (about a third). We cut out the pulp, which we will later return back to the watermelon! Wash 150 g of a variety of fruits and berries thoroughly, peel if necessary and cut into small pieces. Together with the chopped watermelon pulp, place all the fruits into the watermelon. Serve this delicacy with long toothpicks and melted chocolate, and it will immediately gain many little fans.
Meringue
8 egg whites, 150-180 g sugar.
Beat the egg whites with a mixer at medium speed, gradually adding sugar until a stable white foam forms. Preheat the oven, line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Using a pastry bag, squeeze out the whipped egg whites in portions - one meringue should be 3-4 cm in diameter, and place in the oven for an hour and a half.
If you beat the whites separately (2 pieces at a time) and add dyes to them, you can get multi-colored desserts for the holiday.
Tailed Team
Prepare an egg appetizer called “Little Mouse” for your children’s birthday menu. They will have a lot of fun for the kids. Cut 6-8 boiled eggs in half, remove the yolks, mix them with 200 g of grated cream cheese. Fill the egg white halves with this mixture and place them on lettuce leaves, filling down. We make ears from radish circles, antennae from dill or parsley, eyes can be made from confectionery sprinkles.
Koloboks in gold
You can make a children's rice dish for a child's birthday, the composition of which will remain a mystery to everyone. Heat 300 ml of cream with 200 g of grated hard cheese. Dissolve it over low heat and add 400 g of boiled rice with chopped parsley. We form balls from this mass, roll in breading, deep-fry and transfer to a napkin to drain excess fat. Serve hearty koloboks in a heap on a platter - and they will be snapped up immediately.

Faberge eggs
This dish can become the highlight of the program at a children's party.

- Pour gelatin with sugar into water (half a liter). Mix thoroughly until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Place on low heat and stir constantly, but do not boil

Surprise Scrolls
Chicken rolls with pineapple for a children's birthday are a win-win recipe. Cut 1 kg of chicken fillet into layers, beat, salt, pepper and add mustard if desired. Place 2 tbsp on each layer. l. grated cheese, pineapples and champignons, cut into cubes, tightly rolled up and tied with thread or pinned with toothpicks. Grease these cocoons with oil and spices and bake in the oven for 40 minutes at 180°C. Children will immediately fall in love with these rosy, flavorful rolls.
Chicken kebabs on skewers
The meat is marinated in advance and cooked very quickly over an open fire or simply in the oven, so the recipe is suitable both for home celebrations and for going out (we wrap the finished kebab in foil).
Take chicken fillet (as many pieces as the number of servings), corn oil, sour cream and lemon juice in proportions 2:3:3, as well as salt and pepper.
The meat should be divided into medium-sized pieces. Mix the remaining ingredients and keep the chicken in the resulting marinade for several hours, placing it in the refrigerator. Fry, threaded onto skewers, until lightly golden brown in a frying pan, oven or grill.
Boats with treasure
Feel free to include a recipe for potato boats with minced meat in your children's birthday menu. Bake 6-7 large potatoes in the oven, cut them in half and extract the pulp, leaving a little near the skin. Fry 400 g of minced meat with onions, mix with tomato sauce and fill greased boats with it. Sprinkle them with cheese on top and place in the oven at 180°C for 10 minutes. Children will approve of such a tempting dish without question.
Cake on a stick
Mini biscuits on skewers are another good idea on the menu for a children's birthday party. Separately, grind 3 prepared sponge cakes into crumbs. Mix the first part with chocolate-nut butter, the second with condensed milk, and the third with jam. We make identical balls, string them onto long skewers, dip them in liquid chocolate and decorate with colored confectionery sprinkles. Cool them thoroughly and treat them to those with a sweet tooth.
How to create a menu for your baby's first birthday?
For children under three years old, you should not overload the menu with an abundance of products. Children of this age do not tolerate an abundance of food and various combinations of foods. This can trigger an attack of tummy pain, increase gas formation and colic, and also cause indigestion.
For kids, the holiday itself will become more important than what dishes are on the holiday table. Most likely, many years from now he won’t even remember how the celebration went. Just try to give your baby more joyful emotions on this day.
Invite close relatives or friends with kids of about the same age. This will make creating a menu for children much easier.
Include in the menu:
- a couple of types of snacks;
- hot dish;
- dessert.
You can even serve a simple carrot salad as an appetizer, but it is better to supplement it with chopped pieces of dried apricots and season with sour cream. For older children, crackers with chicken or fish pate, decorated with slices of thinly sliced cucumber, are perfect.
Children aged 2-3 years really love to eat canapés and sandwiches. Choose fresh and soft breads. It is better to give preference to white wheat bread, as it is easier to digest. Complete the canapes with pieces of boiled chicken and fresh vegetables. Place all the ingredients for the canapés on the skewers one by one, and place the food on a beautiful plate. Kids will really love the original design of the dish.
For hot dishes at this age, it is better to use familiar products, but with an unusual method of preparation. Instead of soup with turkey and boiled rice, prepare baked minced turkey rolls stuffed with vegetables and serve boiled rice as a side dish. Such new combinations of familiar products will not harm the child’s body after a feast.
For desserts, give preference to light soufflés or milk-based puddings. They are easy to prepare at home. To do this, boil the milk, add sugar and pre-swollen gelatin. Pour into molds and refrigerate until completely cool. These milk puddings can be decorated with chopped fruit or strawberries. For the birthday boy, insert a candle into the dessert and light it. The baby will definitely like this very much.
Strawberries in the snow
Among children's birthday dishes with photos you can find a lot of variations of homemade ice cream. We suggest preparing one of the eternal hits. Lightly freeze 1 kg of strawberries and puree them in a blender. Add 500 g vanilla ice cream, 200 g strawberry jam and 50 g honey. Beat the mixture again, pour into molds and cool. Before serving, decorate them with crushed nuts, chocolate chips, pieces of fruit or marmalade.
Curd and banana dessert
4 bananas, 100 ml vanilla yogurt (or homemade without additives), 200 g cottage cheese, 50 g chocolate, 60 g liquid honey.
Peel 2 bananas, mix with cottage cheese, pour in yogurt and beat until smooth, adding honey in the process. You should get a mass of airy consistency. Peel the remaining 2 bananas and cut into thin slices. Place the curd mass into the bowls, alternating with 1-2 layers of fruit, decorate the top with a couple of banana slices and sprinkle with grated chocolate.
Currant delicacy
What would a delicious children's birthday menu be without cake? Our recipe doesn't even require baking. Press a mixture of 300 g of cookies and 100 g of butter into a round shape, cool for 30 minutes. Beat 800 g of cottage cheese with 100 g of sour cream with a blender and mix in 200 ml of cream with 3 tbsp. l. gelatin. Beat a third of this mass with 300 g of currants. Add 200 g of yogurt to the rest. We alternate both bases in the biscuit tin with a zebra pattern, finishing the cake with a berry layer. Decorate it with currants and cool for another hour.
Surely in your collection there are photos of a children's birthday table, menus for themed parties and simply interesting recipes. In this case, be sure to share your valuable experience with other readers of the “Eat at Home!” club.
Pizza muffins
200 g flour, 1 egg, 200 g sausage, 100 g hard cheese, 200 ml milk, 5 g baking powder, vegetable oil.
Grate the cheese, chop the sausage finely. Beat eggs with milk, add flour, baking powder and salt. Stir cheese and sausage into the dough and let stand for 10 minutes. Grease muffin tins with vegetable oil, fill with the mixture to the brim and place in a well-heated oven for 20-25 minutes.
For a sweet table, of course, you need a cake and a couple of goodies that will surprise the children, which means those that are in stores will not be suitable.
