Off-site quests are often chosen as summer team building for companies from 40 to 120 people.
Active quests (“adventure quests”) consist of 10 thematically designed locations.
The quest locations are located on the territory of the hotel (park area, football field, large tent, recreation center) and teams of players visit the game areas with props according to the plan of their route map. There is an actor next to each location. He provides the information necessary to pass the test, monitors the completion of the task, marks the visit to the location on the team map and puts the props in order.
At the end of the game, the teams unite to complete the main task of the entire quest.

General description of quests
Invitation to the game
The invitation is usually sent by email a few days before the event. Part of the legend may be described there, a hint given, the theme of the game indicated, and options for comfortable clothing suggested. Players have a rough idea of what awaits them, are drawn into the plot in advance and quickly “catch” the mood at the very beginning of the event.
Immersion in the atmosphere of the quest
The game features actors in costumes, and the tents and game locations are themed. The mood is created by music, a welcome text from the host, and accessories that players receive when they meet on the site.
Division into teams
Options are possible here: employees can be divided into teams “out of friendship,” teams are formed by HR managers, and the composition of the teams is determined by drawing lots. It all depends on the goals and objectives of the event; our organizers will definitely listen to your wishes.
Instruction, rules of the game
Participants in the quest must clearly understand the final goal of the game. To ensure that the quest does not drag on, and each task is given the same amount of time (while one team is at one location, its opponents are completing other tasks). All teams take turns visiting all game locations; to sum up the results, the number of artifacts collected is important without prompting from the actors.
Folder with assignments
Each team receives a suitcase with items or a folder with maps and instructions. What this or that item is for, you need to guess as the game progresses, so it is important to very carefully study the contents of folders and suitcases before starting the tests.
Passing tests and collecting artifacts
At each location the team is met by an actor. It gives some information and some item, shows exactly what needs to be done and in what time. If the actor sees that the team is not coping with the task, he gives a hint and deducts points (all this is recorded in a special document). The team's goal is to obtain a key, a diamond, a map fragment, a chemical substance, etc. (each story contains different items). All this is necessary to solve the final task.
Bright finale
The final task is always structured so that all teams combine the treasures they find (parts, map fragments, etc.) and manage to uncover the final secret. The finale is always spectacular: gold rains down, water flows from the long-awaited water supply, a spectacular chemical reaction occurs, etc.
Awards
This can only be a certificate of the found “key to success” of the company or real valuable gifts for each player personally or for the team that was the most united during the game.
Approximate quest timing
Total duration - 2 - 2.5 hours.
15 minutes Meeting of the participants with the first leading actor, legend, introduction to the topic.
30 minutes Instruction, studying the props from a special suitcase or folder, passing a test task.
100 minutes Active phase of the game. Participants undergo tests according to their route map and receive artifacts necessary to complete the final task.
20 minutes Use of all received parts, artifacts, keys, map fragments, jewelry, etc. to pass the main test. At this moment, all teams unite to achieve the goal.

Rules of behavior in the group
- A single form of addressing each other as “you” (by name). To create a climate of trust in the group, suggest addressing each other as “you”. This psychologically equalizes everyone, including the presenter, regardless of age, social status, life experience, and contributes to the emancipation of training participants.
- Communication based on the “here and now” principle. During the training, everyone only talks about what worries them right now and discusses what is happening to them in the group.
- Confidentiality of everything that happens. Everything that happens during the training is not disclosed under any pretext or discussed outside the training. This will help the training participants to be sincere and feel free. Thanks to this rule, participants will be able to trust each other and the group as a whole.
- The rule of sincerity and openness. It is necessary to ensure that group members do not dissemble or lie.
- Activity rule. There should be no passive observers in the group. All participants are included in the exercise. If they refuse to participate, it is worthwhile to take time to discuss their motivation for attending the training.
Progress of the training session:
Structure: students are placed in a circle in the classroom; when everyone is calm and ready to listen, the training begins.
Q: Hello. Today we will conduct a training session for you on unity. The goal of our training is to unite the team and build effective team interaction. Cohesion is an opportunity for a team to become one unit to achieve specific goals and objectives. After all, how good it is when your friend understands and supports you, to hear and help when this help is needed, and to understand each other even without words. A close-knit team achieves many peaks and victories.
STAGE 1: “CROSSING”
Exercise:
At the “Crossing” stage, the team must cross a rope stretched at a certain height above the ground, holding hands together. In this case, you absolutely cannot touch the rope; if this happens, then the whole team returns to the starting line and starts the whole process all over again. The height of the rope is adjusted depending on the age of the participants: the older they are, the higher the rope. For the oldest squads, the height should be such that it would be impossible for all team players to simply jump over it, and this would imply mutual assistance in overcoming this obstacle.
STAGE 2: “VICTORY CRY”
- Exercise:
The team joins hands and, without unclenching them, passes through three hoops lying on the ground, after which the whole team must stand in a large circle drawn on the ground and, having come up with a battle cry, shout it three times.
- Exercise:
After the team has shouted its victory cry, it must go through two more circles, each time the size of the circle decreases, so that in the last circle the guys have to take someone in their arms or stand on one leg. You cannot go beyond the circle lines.
STAGE 3 “SPORTS”
- Game "Atoms and Molecules"
A little initial setup is necessary: the group is asked to close their eyes and imagine that each person is a small atom, and atoms, as we know, are able to combine and form molecules, which are fairly stable compounds. This is followed by the words of the presenter: “Now you will open your eyes and begin to move randomly in space. According to my signal (the signal is specified), you will unite into molecules, the number of atoms in which I will also name. When you're ready, open your eyes." Participants begin free movement in space and, upon hearing the leader’s signal, unite into molecules. After moving for some time as a solid compound, the molecules again disintegrate into individual atoms. Then the leader gives the signal again, the participants unite again, etc.
- Game "Monsters"
Goal: developing a sense of belonging to a group at the level of physical contact. To successfully complete this exercise, you need to demonstrate group cooperation skills, constructive interaction, and coordination of actions. Form of conduct: The team is asked to walk 25-30 meters in such a way that only a certain number of feet touch the ground. This number is calculated by the formula: N = n – 3, where N is the number of legs that can touch the ground, n is the number of people in a given team. For example, if there are 10 people in a team, then they need to walk the distance on 7 legs. Moreover, the team itself chooses how it will do this. The friendliness of the group, the consistency of its actions, and originality in decision-making are assessed.
STAGE 4 “ROCK”
- Game "Fun Counting"
Goal: to feel each other, to understand without words or facial expressions.
Progress of the exercise: “Now, at the “start” signal, you will close your eyes, lower your noses down and try to count from one to ten. But the trick is that you will count together. Someone will say “one”, another person will say “two”, a third will say “three” and so on +. However, there is one rule in the game: only one person can say the word. If two voices say “four”, the count starts over. Try to understand each other without words.
- Game "Rock"
Purpose: this exercise develops group support skills; team building. Form of conduct: Participants are asked to stand on a log or bench, holding hands. The last participant must cross to the other end of the chain with the help of the other participants of the rock (they can only help with support). Falling from the bench incurs penalty points for the team. Thus, all team members should gradually cross to the other end of the chain.
STAGE 5 “KARAOKE”
- Game "Transformer" Exercise progress: The group must quickly, without words, build, using all the team players, the following figures: square; triangle; letter; school of birds. The psychological meaning of the exercise: coordination of joint actions, distribution of roles in the group.
- Game "Karaoke" - sing a pioneer song with the whole group.
STAGE 6 “DANCE”

Progress of the game:
On the floor, using chalk (adhesive tape), a 44 square is drawn, arrows show the path of movement through the labyrinth. The team chooses the first participant, who is blindfolded, and using the commands “Forward”, “Back”, “Left”, “Right”, they need to go through the maze. If a player makes a mistake, he joins the group, and the next participant takes his place and starts moving again. The task is considered completed when at least one group member has completed the entire maze.
Choosing a quest theme for team building
Indiana Jones
Legend. Indiana takes all the company's employees with him on his next adventure. The Holy Grail, according to his assumption, is located in one of the monuments of Ancient Egypt. An amazing place where representatives of all centuries, characters from the world of the living and the world of the dead coexist peacefully. Teams need to obtain 13 totems and open the sarcophagus with the Holy Grail. For each totem, teams need to go through several unusual challenges and meet colorful characters.
Characters: Cleopatra, The Mummy, Warrior Gerhart, Monk John, special forces officer, Arab merchant,
Players will unravel ancient hieroglyphs, search Cleopatra's room, and participate in gunfights and archery. They will defuse a bomb, find secret codes, take an important call, learn to use a wi-fi camera and walkie-talkie, open cryptexes, take part in a neurogame to test the power of thought, and use Morse code.
General task. All teams will unite around the sarcophagus, which contains the holy grail. It will be truly magical, with special effects! The eternal life of the company, as you guessed, is guaranteed.
Fort Boyard
The Fort's gold will go to the smartest and bravest. Only the most united team can achieve success; you need to be able to distribute forces and use the abilities of each player.
Players go through all tests sequentially (each team will have a route map). Near each location there will be an actor in a themed costume who will explain the essence of the task and check that the quest is completed correctly. For each victory, the team receives a hint to the Treasury Code Word. The more clues, the easier it is to guess. The winner is determined after weighing the coins on the scales.
The key to success
Every person is looking for the key to success. The small victories of each player add up to a big victory for the entire company.
Characters: Queen of Egypt, special forces officer, elder Abdullah, warrior Gerhard, monk John, knight of the Templar Order, Arab merchant.
Challenges: “Tablets of Success”, “Leonardo's Riddle, Pipeline, Ancient Hieroglyphs, Search the Knowledge Vault, Shootout, Rochefort, “Right Choices”, “Keep Your Eyes On”, etc.
For a successful task, players receive diamonds. For diamonds you can buy yarn and weave it into a carpet (one of the wool team building options). We exchange the carpet for the keys to an antique chest! What's in the chest? We will discuss this with the company management)).
Crazy Max
Action quest in the style of “Post-Apocalypse” (based on the “Mad Max” film series). The most valuable resource is clean water. Players will struggle for survival. It is necessary to return water to the settlement, overcoming all the difficulties during the assembly of a new pipeline.
Tests: “Tesla Coil” with a mad scientist, “Hydro-scooter racing with racer Nancy Drive”, “Sun God” with a pastor, racing on an unusual bicycle with Harvey, building a railway with locomotive driver Claire, defusing a bomb with the bandit Predator Joe, shootout with shooter Chris, cockroach races led by bartender Jimmy, detective puzzles.
Climax: if the pipeline is assembled correctly and the pump is connected correctly, after a collective countdown, water will flow from the pipe.
Antidote
We usually recommend this adventure quest in cases where the purpose of the event is to introduce participants to each other. For example, employees of the same company from different cities meet together for the first time. It takes place in the distant future.
A group of scientists must find a means to combat the epidemic of a new viral disease. There are many obstacles to solving this problem. For each test, players receive one of the components to create the drug.
