Learning to do vampire makeup, training videos and photos

A vampire is a great traditional look for Halloween celebrations. It is universal and flexible, suitable for girls, girls and women.

Men and boys also often choose mystical images for themselves - the roles of vampires or Dracula.

The female image of a vampire does not necessarily have to be frightening; it can even be created as exciting, elegant, strict or funny masquerade. Makeup will play the most important role in creating the chosen image.

We have selected a collection of videos for you that will make it easy to learn how to apply vampire makeup for Halloween.

A vampire

The image of a vampire can easily be considered one of the most popular characters for a Halloween party. It can be accomplished without the help of professionals. To do this, prepare:

  • face painting or theatrical makeup;
  • Foundation;
  • black cosmetic pencil, eyeliner;
  • artificial blood;
  • special overlays for teeth;
  • white or red lenses.

The characteristic features of a classic vampire are a pale, even slightly bluish face and sunken eyes. Wounds and cuts on the face are unusual for the vampire image and are performed at will. Famous vampire heroes - Dracula, Edward from the movie "Twilight".

Making a vampire make-up:

  1. Prepare your skin for makeup: clean your face, neck and ears with cosmetic milk, wipe with alcohol-based tonic and moisturize with cream. Remove excess moisture with paper towels.
  2. To lighten your skin, use a light foundation or theatrical makeup. To make the image more convincing and look deathly pale, you can add a little blue. Don't forget to also highlight the surface of your lips.
  3. Use brown and gray color to work on the area around the eyes and cheekbones.
  4. Define your eyebrows with a black pencil.
  5. Place special fang covers on your teeth. You can add a little artificial blood flowing from the mouth. This technique will add expressiveness and colorfulness to the image.
  6. Wear red or white lenses.

High-quality makeup is only half the success. No less important are facial expressions, eyes and hairstyle. Practice in front of a mirror, look at others coldly and with interest, like a wolf at a young lamb. Be sure to add some gray to your hair.

Important! Before applying makeup, shave your facial hair as thoroughly as possible. Stubble will not allow you to apply makeup evenly and create a convincing image.

Joker

For charismatic and eccentric personalities, the Joker image for Halloween is suitable. He is personified by Heath Ledger in the film Batman. Bizarre character, unpredictability of behavior, creepy and at the same time attractive facial expression are additional criteria for this image for Halloween.

To make the Joker makeup yourself, you will need:

  • face painting, theatrical makeup in white, red and black;
  • artificial blood.

How to do makeup for Halloween:

  1. Prepare your face properly: cleanse with a cosmetic, wipe with toner and apply moisturizer. Soak up any remaining moisture with paper towels.
  2. A pale face is characteristic of the Joker's appearance. Foundation and white theatrical makeup will help achieve the desired effect.
  3. Use black paint around the eyes, adding a blurry, smudged effect.
  4. Paint your lips bright red. Apply red paint up to the earlobes, simulating a torn mouth. Droplets of blood and blurry outlines will add expression and naturalness to the image.

Advice. Don't forget to use a wig or dye your hair green to complete the look. Special crayons or other temporary hair dyes are suitable for this.

Features of Halloween makeup for guys

Halloween is a great reason to finally experiment with your appearance and decide to do something crazy. And not only for girls, but also for men. After all, there are a great variety of makeup options that are perfect for even the most brutal guys. For one day you can become a zombie, a skeleton, Freddy Krueger, a vampire, a ghost, or another prominent representative of the dark side from your favorite works of fiction.

If you want to create a spectacular version of men's makeup for Halloween, the main thing is to consider a few important points.

  • Firstly, stock up on professional cosmetics in advance. These can be special products that are used for theater makeup, or dense cream pigments. Conventional cosmetics (for example, just powder and foundation) will definitely not be enough for you to achieve the desired effect.

©Getty

  • Secondly, decide on the image. The choice of colors will depend on this. If you decide to become a skeleton, you can get by with black and white. But for the image of Freddy Krueger or the Mad Hatter, for example, you will need not only a variety of shades, but also all your makeup talents.

  • And thirdly, remember your advantages. Many men's cheekbones and jawline, for example, are more pronounced than women's. And we must take advantage of this! Make these areas the key areas of your makeup. Then you won’t have to apply too much makeup, it will be enough to just highlight what you already have.

Evil Clown, Pennywise

A creepy and evil clown is another suitable male image for Halloween. There are many examples of Hollywood killer clowns; Pennywise from the movie “It” is considered the leader and standard of a creepy character.

To make up a sinister clown you will need:

  • face painting, theatrical makeup;
  • foundation;
  • makeup wax;
  • black cosmetic pencil;
  • fake blood.

Men's Halloween makeup is done like this:

  1. The skin is prepared (cleansed, treated with toner and moisturizer is applied).
  2. The face, neck and ears are made white using face painting (foundation).
  3. Draw the contours of the eyes and lips with a black pencil. To make the image more expressive, the outline of the area around the eyes is made curly (for example, in the shape of a diamond) and painted over with black.
  4. The shape of the lips is also modified: they are made very massive, wide, so that teeth can be drawn, and the corners of the mouth are extended somewhere to the middle of the cheeks.
  5. To create the effect of torn corners of the mouth and eyes, make-up wax is used. If you were unable to purchase the product, you can take paper napkins and eyelash cream. Glue small pieces of paper to the corners of the drawn lips (eyes) with glue; for volume, make several layers. When the paper is dry, tear or cut the ends with scissors, cover with foundation and paint of the chosen color. Bloody smudges can be made from fake blood.
  6. Draw a toothy grin inside the new lips. The base is made black, and the teeth are drawn with matte white shadows.
  7. Paint the tip of your nose red or put on a small clown nose with an elastic band.

A bright costume and a clown wig with multi-colored hair are a must-have addition to the makeup.

Note! The makeup of an evil clown perfectly hides age; the image is suitable for young guys and adult men.

Sinister Clown

To turn into a terrifying clown, you will need a lot of products of different shades. Stock up on red and blue pigments - you will need them for eye makeup and drawing a creepy smile. You may have to sacrifice your beard. And don't forget that the picture won't be complete without a wig.

Zombie

The image of a zombie is more difficult to create. If you don’t have much time, you can simply use eyeliner to draw strokes on your face that resemble stitches and scars. This is easy to do yourself - you will need ordinary cosmetics, which your girlfriend will probably have.

And if there are still a couple of hours left before the start of the holiday, you can work on the skin tone, draw terrible wounds and highlight the eyes with dark shadows. Don't be afraid to go overboard: the more dark the color around your eyes, the more sunken they will look - just what you need for a scary zombie look. By the way, any zombie outfit will do. It is enough to give it a not very fresh look. Just sprinkle it with sand or lightly fill it with paint.

Werewolf

The image of a werewolf looks no less impressive, but can be difficult to create. For guys with thick facial hair, this is the best option, you don’t even have to shave.

To create an image you will need:

  • thin brush for applying makeup;
  • black, gray, brown makeup;
  • false fangs;
  • green or yellow lenses;
  • black cosmetic pencil (eyeliner).

How to do werewolf makeup:

  1. Pre-clean your face with a cosmetic product, wipe with tonic and apply cream.
  2. Using brown and gray paint and a thin brush, paint the fur on the forehead and cheekbones. Add some color to your eyebrows to visually increase their volume.
  3. Paint the upper eyelids with dark shadows. Highlight the line along the lower eyelid with a black cosmetic pencil (eyeliner).
  4. Paint the tip of the nose with dark paint, like an animal's.
  5. Put on lenses and fangs.

To complete the look of a werewolf, wear a wig with long hair to match the depicted fur, as well as a matching carnival costume.

Devil, demonic image

The image of the devil is preferable to use for dark-haired men who are courageous and self-confident. There is no need to shave before applying makeup. A slight stubble will add brutality to the look.

To perform devil makeup you will need:

  • red theatrical makeup;
  • black and gray shadows;
  • cosmetic pencil;
  • white contact lenses;
  • a set of brushes for applying makeup.

The demon makeup is performed as follows:

  1. Prepare your face, ears, and neck for applying makeup.
  2. Put on your contact lenses.
  3. Tint the visible areas of the skin red.
  4. Apply dark shadows to the upper eyelid and blend the contour.
  5. Draw the line of the lower eyelid with a black cosmetic pencil (eyeliner), and paint over the eyelid itself with black shadows and blend the edges.
  6. Draw several symmetrical vertical lines on the forehead (one from the inner corner of the eyes, the other from the center of the eyebrow). Blend them on one side.
  7. Darken the sides of the nose to visually lengthen it. Fade the nostril area black.
  8. Highlight your cheekbones with dark.
  9. Paint the surface of the lips dark gray, the outline can be highlighted in black.
  10. Finally, apply a few hieroglyphs on the cheekbones and forehead with a black pencil.

For a demonic image, it is not necessary to invent a special carnival outfit; you can wear a strict black suit.

Dracula's Girlfriend or Lily Collins' Vampire Makeup

When I saw the next topic of the flash mob, I couldn’t help but smile. This is such a space for creativity. But when I started looking at the makeup of my favorite movie heroines, my ardor died down. They're either all in a retro 30s/40s look with red lips, or with little to no makeup.

Then I turned to red carpet looks. There is a little more variety. Finally, I decided to delve into my folder on Pinterest, in which I collected all the images of actresses I have ever liked. And Bingo! I saw Lily Collins' dramatic look at the 2021 Critics' Choice Awards and my head immediately clicked "It!" She looked absolutely stunning in that Victorian dress and contrasting makeup.

I don't follow Lily Collins' work at all. But I really like her makeup and looks in general. This one especially caught my attention. I've wanted to repeat it for a long time. And now the reason has finally appeared.

So, in this image there are three accents: porcelain skin, wine lips and burgundy smokey eyes. There are two colors in makeup - white and dark burgundy.

Here are the products we will need.

For face:

  1. Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Foundation in 1N2 Ecru.
  2. Loose powder from Relouis Pro HD powder
  3. Edward Bess blush in Moroccan rose 03

For eyes:

  1. Catrice eye foundation primer
  2. Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Train Bleu
  3. Lime Crime Venus, Venus II, Immortalis, Prelude Exposed
  4. Eveline Big Volume Bang Mascara! Mascara (black)

For eyebrows:

  1. Pupa Pupart eye shadow in shade 006
  2. Vivienne Sabo Fixateur Brow & Lash Fixing Gel (transparent)

For lips:

  1. Maybelline Color Sensation Matte lipstick in divine wine 975
  2. Collistar Puro Lipstick in shade 76 moka
  3. Paula Dorf Lip Pencil in Tapesty
  4. Eye shadow Relouis Pro Limited Edition tone 4 Fireworks

So let's get started. All photos were taken under the light of a ring lamp, because... The last few days have been very cloudy and pouring rain.

Leather.

The face makeup is extremely clear: a dense matte tone and zero highlighter. I enlarged the photo very much to see at least some shine. But he's not there. But there is a drop of burgundy blush on the apples of the cheeks and the area under the cheekbone is slightly highlighted.

So I take Estee Lauder Double Wear Light in 1N2 Ecru and work it all over my face really well.

My red face after sunbathing :)

Despite the Light version, the cream is able to erase all minor imperfections from my face and even color nuances under the eyes.

The "canvas" is ready.

If you look closely, you can see that our heroine’s face is generously powdered. A sort of "Peach". It is clear that on the red carpet, in the light of the spotlights and camera flashes, the face should be perfectly matte.

I see that the powder is either transparent or even white, since it does not give any tint.

I have one like this in my arsenal. Loose powder from Relouis Pro HD powder that simultaneously slightly whitens the face and completely mattifies it.

We apply.

Now I apply a drop of blush to the cheek area and lightly blend it into and under the cheekbone.

Brows.

Our bride Dracula's eyebrows are like those of a wolf: fluffy, almost black, scattered. So I arm myself with an eyeshadow palette from Pupa and do something similar.

Afterwards I apply gel from Vivienne Sabo.

Eyes. Let's move on to the most interesting part. First I apply the primer to the eyelid and then apply the eyeshadow.

The main shade here is Marsala. Therefore, I take Mud from the Lime Crime Venus 2 palette and fill the entire moving eyelid with it.

I see that Lily’s shading has gone burgundy-violet. Here to help me is unveil from the Lime Crime Immortalis palette. I bring it into the crease and blend it out a little onto the fixed eyelid, creating a shape. I pull it slightly towards my temples.

I evaluate the result and understand that I need to add a little dark red to the border between marsala and violet-burgundy. For these purposes, I take Muse from the Lime Crime Venus palette. I add just a little.

It's definitely gotten better.

Next, I take the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in the shade Train Bleu in a luxurious blueberry-burgundy shade and line all the mucous membranes and also the lash line on the lower and upper eyelids and connect at the outer corner of the eye.

I shade the borders a little with an empty brush.

By the way, no matter how hard I tried to detect the black color in my makeup, I couldn’t. It is not present either in the mucous membranes, or along the ciliary edge, or in the corner of the eye. Therefore, I did not use it. In principle, unveil coped with the task of darkening more than adequately.

Let's move on to the lower eyelid. Here I'm simply repeating the color scheme of the upper eyelid. From inner edge to outer: Mud, Muse, Unveil. I connect the lower eyelid with the upper eyelid.

I'm sorry, on this eye I did the lower eyelid first and then added the pencil. But it's better to do the opposite.

I soften all the boundaries of eye makeup with Cameo from the Immortalis palette. It is matte, which is very important, and is great for these purposes.

The next step is the inner corner of the eye. In the photo we see that a golden color with obvious redness was used, due to which it looks harmonious with the main color of the shadows. This technique finally pulled all the green out of Lily’s seemingly brown eyes.

I found such warm gold in my Prelude Exposed palette. I take 1484 and rub it into the corner with a pencil brush, going a little onto Mud. This way the colors don’t look separate from each other, but blend smoothly.

Then I take a fluffy brush and apply gold to the moving eyelid, making a neat gradient.

I add a drop of aura from the Lime Crime Venus palette to the very corner of my eye.

This area on the eyes is the only place in the makeup where there is glitter.

Our heroine has beautiful, thickly colored eyelashes. Smokey obliges. It is possible that invoices were used. I really don’t like gluing eyelashes, so I just coat them thickly with Eveline Big Volume Bang Mascara! (black), stretching each eyelash.

The eyes are ready!

Let's go lower. To the lips.

Our movie star's mouth is clearly outlined with a pencil in the color of her lipstick. After which a gradient effect from wine to red was created on the lips. Plus, I can clearly see metallic glitter in the middle of my lips.

I'm trying to repeat it.

I take a Paula Dorf pencil in the shade Tapesty and outline the outline. Then I take Maybelline lipstick in the legendary shade Divine wine and fill the surface of the lips, leaving a space in the middle.

I apply a lighter Collistar lipstick in the shade Mocco.

This technique makes the lips visually fuller and more sensual.

For a metallic effect, I take Relouis Pro Limited Edition eye shadow in tone 4 Fireworks and apply it with a flat brush in a slapping motion to the center of the lips.

I put my hair in a similar bun, put on earrings and use…… the hem from my wedding dress as a dress))).

The vampire look is ready!

Before after

In cloudy daylight

Well... a pathetic semblance
