DIY money tree made from coins, signs, photos, videos

A money tree for a wedding is an original gift.

The most common and perhaps the most practical wedding gift is money. And the tradition of giving cash gifts to newlyweds is supported in many countries. Just a few years ago, no one thought about how to give money for a wedding - according to custom, they were collected at the table from all the guests in turn, putting it in a three-liter jar tied with a red ribbon. One jar was filled and another came to replace it, and so on until the matchmakers had visited all the guests. Today, when it has become fashionable to decorate and hold a wedding celebration in a more original way, moving away from established traditions, guests also strive to present their wedding gifts in such a way that the newlyweds will remember them for a long time. And more and more often among the guests there are those who give money in a very original way. One of these ways is considered to be a gift of a money tree for a wedding, informing the newlyweds that this will now be their talisman to attract money to the family.

How to give money for a wedding in an original way - a money tree.

By giving the newlyweds a money tree, you thereby wish their family prosperity and well-being. But there are a lot of ways to make such a gift original, as well as ways to present it, so that the young people and guests understand what this gift is for.

Let's start with how to make a money tree for a wedding, because it can be either live or artificial.

Money tree flower for wedding

In the first case, the crassula plant, which in our country and in many other countries is called the money tree, will come to your aid. It is believed that it is desirable to receive this flower as a gift, and a wedding is a wonderful occasion for this.

In order to grow a money tree yourself as a gift for newlyweds, you need to know about the upcoming wedding in advance, because it will only take a few weeks to take root in the pot, and it would also be nice to grow a little. The wedding date may well not coincide with the active growing season of this plant, so you can buy it at a flower shop or give it as a gift by planting a shoot for yourself in the future. If you give a flower with love and from the heart, then your shoot will also quickly grow.

You can decorate the crassula money tree that you are going to give for your wedding with several red ribbons, coins and bills. Pour the coins directly into the pot on the soil, tie several branches with ribbons, but carefully tie the banknotes, which make up your gift to the newlyweds, with threads to the branches of the tree. On the flower pot itself you can write congratulations to the newlyweds and your wishes to them.

Balloons

Nowadays it is considered bad manners to decorate weddings with balloons, but if you give them to adults, it will immerse them in memories of a happy childhood. And from different types you can make unique gifts. Ideas for giving money with balloons:

  1. The simplest thing is to roll up the bills and inflate translucent spheres. It is best if they are filled with helium, but if they use regular air, they will need a rigid leg.
  2. Create a funny or cute animal with a transparent body containing money from modeling balloons.
  3. Make a bouquet of modeling balloons and attach banknotes between the flowers.
  4. Large flowers with pink, red or white “petals” and a transparent center containing money.
  5. A large transparent sphere filled with small colored balls and lined with money along the bottom. To get money you will need to burst the main balloon, and at the same time the small ones will fly up due to the fact that they are filled with helium. It's best to create several of these spheres and decorate them with multi-colored bows from packing tape.

It is important to remember that if you plan to transport a gift during the cold season, you should choose especially dense balls. This is done so that they do not burst due to temperature changes. Also, on a sunny day, you should not leave them in direct sunlight.

Wedding gift - DIY money tree

Wedding gift - money tree

In order to make an artificial money tree for the wedding of your friends, relatives or colleagues, it will be enough to use your imagination and experiment.

You can make it using the origami technique, changing money into small bills, but be prepared for the fact that for such a tree you will need quite a lot of bills, and feel sorry for the newlyweds, who will have to first smooth them out, and then exchange and spend them.

The second way, which is easier and allows your imagination to run wild, is to make a money tree from ordinary branches. To do this, prepare a flower pot, put three coins on the bottom - this is how to plant a money tree according to Feng Shui. Plant the prepared branches for banknotes and decorations in a pot, fixing them with soil or small pebbles, and sprinkle the top generously with coins and beads. Next, start decorating your branches. It’s good if you give a money tree to a group of friends for a wedding, then the amount of money will be more substantial and, accordingly, its denomination will be higher. First decorate the branches with ribbons and bells, then fold the bills in the way you think is most beautiful - you can roll them into tubes, fold them into tulips using the origami technique, accordion-style, or in any other way without damaging them. You can draw dollar signs on the pot and write a wish.

How to give a newlyweds a money tree for their wedding.

It is very important not just to make an unusual gift, but to present it in an original way. You can do this in the form of a toast or by playing a comic scene with the newlyweds.

Let's take one interesting way as an example - ask the groom to plant a tree himself. To do this, you will need exactly the same pot in which you made your money tree, and a few coins. It is also advisable to take care of the costume so that you look like a wizard - even if it is a satin cape and a witch's hat, all this will add originality to your production. The bride and groom will need to leave the table to the center of the hall. Place a pot of soil on a chair, give the groom some coins and tell him that these are magic seeds, and if he buries them in the pot, then very soon their young family will become rich. After the newly-made husband does this, perform a ritual with a magic spell - blindfold the newlyweds, take them by the hands and circle them three times around the pot, saying: “The seeds sprout, the family grows rich.” At this time, one of your friends exchanges the pot for a money tree you made in advance, you untie the eyes of the newlyweds and they are delighted with this transformation. Be sure to tell them that they are the first who managed to grow such a prolific money tree the first time, which means their family will be strong, and they will live in love and prosperity.

Believe me, not all guests will be able to play with their gifts in this way, and your newlywed friends will remember this for a long time, and the money ritual carried out will certainly bring prosperity to the young family.

Wedding gift-talisman: money tree.

The impression that your original wedding gift in the form of a money tree will make will become a vivid memory for the newlyweds.

This gift is not only the result of an extraordinary approach to an important event, but also a surprise with deep meaning.

At a wedding, it is customary to gift the newlyweds with money, forming the initial capital of a young family. Of all the possible gift options, a money tree is a wedding gift that will be the most memorable!

Without breaking tradition, you enhance the magical attraction of money with a kind of talisman. The fact is that the money tree has always been considered a symbol of prosperity, attracting wealth and good luck to its owners.

With a little imagination and skill, you can create a real masterpiece and make your gift exclusive.

Do it yourself

First you need to decide what will form the basis of your gift. Choose the option closest to you:

  • a living flower - a money tree or a dollar tree - in a pot (the newlyweds will take care of it, the tree will grow, bringing them profit with each new leaf);
  • an artificial analogue of a plant in a pot (we hang it on branches or glue “leaves” folded from banknotes onto tape, fill the space around the trunk with coins);
  • a product made from scrap materials (you will have to work hard, but the result is worth it);
  • to the money tree as a wedding gift - original congratulations.

Manufacturing stages

Nowadays, many are so passionate about the ideas of creating decorative items for Feng Shui that art institutions even offer master classes for everyone. Watching how a unique symbol is created and repeating the actions is very useful, because the master will be able to advise, notice errors, and help in practice. If you can’t attend the class, we offer two step-by-step instructions for making a souvenir with your own hands.

Stages of creating a panel.

  1. Disassemble the photo frame, take out the plywood, place it on the base (wallpaper), trace with a pencil and cut out the blank. Glue the cut material to the outside of the plywood. After drying, draw a tree shape on the sheet.
  2. Combine water and PVA glue in a bowl in a ratio of 1: 1. Cut strips from the prepared napkins, lightly dip each into the previously obtained adhesive mixture, twist into tight tubes and wait until dry. If you get flagella of different thicknesses, then this is normal; in the future they will be needed to decorate the crown and branches.
  3. Apply glue to the depicted tree in the crown area, apply dried napkin tubes, construct the crown, branches, and roots according to the drawn diagram.
  4. Prepare alcohol or detergent and treat the coins with it. This procedure will degrease the iron money so that it sticks more securely. Glue coins onto the previously formed branches.
  5. Spray the entire arrangement with black spray paint. Once dry, you can apply gold color on top. Next, use a sponge to go over the panel with silver paint. Waiting for it to dry again.
  6. Dip a dry sponge into a golden color, apply paint to the coins and blend. Treat the surface of the coins, which is still wet from paint, with glitter. Leave the canvas until completely dry.
  7. Place the picture in the frame and hang it in a suitable place.

To make a three-dimensional structure, follow these steps.

  1. Tie pieces of copper wire to the coins. Suitable diameter is 0.3 mm.
  2. Fasten the segments to each other in groups of five - this will form the branches of the future tree.
  3. To make a thin wire hold heavy coins, use an additional millimeter wire. Fold it in half, attach it to the base of the branch and wrap the joint area with FUM tape. This must be done for all branches.
  4. Build a common trunk from the branches, securing everything with tape. Seal the barrel using pieces of wire.
  5. Pour the plaster mixture into the container, lower the trunk there and strengthen the figurine until the plaster hardens.
  6. While the gypsum is setting, prepare a composition of alabaster, plaster and cement, dilute the resulting mixture with PVA glue dissolved in water. When the gypsum mixture hardens (usually it takes half an hour), remove the tree and apply the substance obtained above to the trunk, making grooves.
  7. Paint the figure with spray paint, acrylic varnish or glitter in your favorite colors. For example, golden, bronze, and silver shades look very impressive.

A handmade talisman – a topiary or figurine – is also suitable.

Money tree - money topiary

Making a “money talisman” in the form of a topiary is the most common type of craft that attracts wealth and well-being to the home. Topiary looks like a small tree growing from a pot. This tree must have a lush crown of a round or other shape (cone, heart, oval, etc.) All materials for topiary can be purchased at a craft store.

  • Pot - preferably it should be a miniature flower pot made of clay or ceramics (heavy, because the craft needs to be stable). Give preference to a beautiful painted pot in advance, or purchase a clean pot that you can decorate yourself.
  • Tree trunk - this can be a wooden stick, a tube-sleeve from cling film or parchment (look for it in the kitchen), a real tree branch (crooked or straight), a pencil and much more. As a rule, the trunk should be covered with a layer of paint or glue, and then wrapped with canvas thread (called “brushwood”, sold in household stores or craft departments).
  • Styrofoam ball – This is easy to buy in the arts and crafts department. It is not expensive and has several size options (small, medium, large). The ball is very light and easy to work with: any material is attached with needles or glue.
  • A variety of decorative elements are necessary to decorate the finished product and give it an aesthetic appearance: corrugated paper, colored paper, decorative coins, flowers, insects, ribbons and much more.

“Money trees” in the form of topiary are talismans of prosperity for the home:

Money Tree. How to give banknotes for a wedding in an interesting and original way.

Although money is evil, it’s hard to find a better wedding gift than this. When giving banknotes, you can be absolutely sure that you will not “delight” the newlyweds with the third set or the fifth bread machine in a row.

With your gift they will buy what they need for their young family. In this article we will tell you about the money tree, how to give rubles or currency for a wedding in an unusual and cute way.

Nuances of collage technique

What we need in our work:

  • base for wood, burlap or any other;
  • napkins or toilet paper;
  • acrylic paints in gold, black, silver;
  • ordinary water;
  • coins of any denomination;
  • foam sponge;
  • pencil and scissors;
  • cosmetic shine;
  • picture frame or photo frame with plywood without texture damage;
  • quick-drying glue and PVA glue.

A fabric base for the future canvas is cut from the prepared material. It must be placed on the plywood from the back of the photo frame or any other picture. The fabric is cut exactly to the size of the lining used and secured with glue. When the fabric base is no longer sticky and dry, a rough sketch of the tree is drawn.

PVA glue and plain water are diluted in a medium-sized container. The amount to be diluted should be 1:1. Paper napkins of any color are cut into strips 2 and 3 cm wide. The finished cut pieces are lightly dipped one at a time in a container with diluted glue.

The resulting strips are carefully and tightly rolled into tubes. Soaked strips of different widths will be used for different parts of the tree, thicker ones for the crown, thinner ones for the branches.

Therefore, when twisting, you should pay attention to this and not confuse it. When a sufficient number of flagella are ready, leave them until completely dry.

On a fabric basis, at the location of the tree sketch, a small amount of glue is applied to the place where the crown is formed. Dried strands of paper are laid out on a layer of glue, forming roots, branches, and crown. The work is left until completely dry.

After preparing the wood, you can start gluing the coins. Coins must be pre-cleaned and degreased with alcohol tinctures or any detergents. To securely attach coins, it is better to use quick-drying glue. Glue banknotes as you wish, but be sure to cover all ends of the branches. The tree is ready.

The next stage is the design of the painting, that is, its painting. For this purpose, black aerosol paint is used, sprayed throughout the entire exhibition.

The top layer of gold paint has a wonderful combination. It is imperative that each coat of paint requires drying time.

To give a light shine, you need to go over the entire exhibition with a foam sponge with silver-colored acrylic paint, but without painting, but only dipping the work. After allowing time to dry, the final touch is performed - shading with acrylic gold paint, but only in coins. For shine, you can apply cosmetic gloss over the entire work, before it dries completely. The product is ready, left until completely dry.

Fix the finished fabric blank with a completely finished coin tree in a frame, and you can enjoy your individual work.

What could a money tree look like?

The tradition remains in the past, according to which the wedding host walked around all the guests with a huge glass jar into which the latter placed “cabbage.” Now you have the opportunity to present your own individual monetary gift by decorating it in an unusual way.

One of the win-win options for a banknote gift can be a money tree.

It can be designed in the following variations:

  • living money tree;
  • handmade;
  • decorated artificial plant.

Each such wedding gift is original and good, so let's get to know them all in order.

Living money tree

The money tree is popularly called the houseplant Crassula. According to legend, it brings wealth to the one who received it as a gift. A wedding is the best reason to get such a miraculous fatty.

The plant is nicknamed the money plant due to its accumulative system of life activity - it does not ignore excess moisture for itself, but stores it in its thick stems and leaves. Therefore, during dry seasons, it supplies itself with H2O from its reserves.

Only a healthy fat plant brings good luck - so before the wedding, inspect the plant, remove diseased and wilted leaves. In general, this is a rather unpretentious plant that does not need scrupulous care, special fertilizers or frequent watering.

For growth and rapid development, Crassula (another name for Crassula) should be planted in a spacious pot, provided with a constant flow of sunlight, placed in the southwestern side of your home - this is already according to Feng Shui (by the way, the gift will be decorated with cheerfully designed care instructions behind the miracle tree).

However, having chosen the live option, you need to prepare for the wedding in advance - the plant can take root in a new gift pot for several weeks. In addition, by the time you decorate it with banknotes, the fat woman should be strong and vigorous.

Let's share tips for decorating a plant:

  • In addition to banknotes, the fat card can be decorated with ribbons tied in bows:
  • Attach money “fruits” to the same ribbons - they will hang beautifully from the branches;
  • Fill the soil of the pot with coins;
  • You can also tie small cards to the branches or secure the latter with flags in the ground;
  • decorate the tree with Chinese coins on a red thread - this is a sign of financial success;
  • come up with a story for your gift that you will tell when delivering it (it’s great if it’s in poetic form);
  • Congratulations can also be written with acrylic paints on the pot itself.

But here are the signs associated with Crassula - before giving a money tree as a wedding gift, share them with the newlyweds:

  • when donating, take a coin for a nominal fee - so that the tree’s charms are sure to work;
  • the fat plant will promise even more financial success if three Chinese coins on a red cord are tied to its branches;
  • give parting words to the newlyweds - the money tree needs to be verbally thanked periodically for its help;
  • a tree helps only those owners who treat it with love and care, and do not forget to water and care for it;
  • if the plant blooms, this is the best sign: rub the leaves of the crassula while it is blooming, and you will be fabulously rich!

Interesting ideas

Above are the most popular options for making a money symbol, but there are even more original and unusual examples.

  • You can give the wood a natural color. For the summer version, the coins are painted green and the barrel is painted brown. You can also create a winter landscape: to do this, the coppers are sprayed with white paint - this technique will create a snowy, light, delicate effect.
  • Using coins you can design a Christmas tree. To do this, we roll up pieces of cardboard in the form of cones, cover each of them with iron money and decorate with cotton balls. The resulting figurine will attract wealth in the coming year.
  • Another original idea is a tree with a round crown. Cover a small foam ball with coins in several layers, leaving space for the future trunk. Cover an ordinary branch with decorative tapes, insert it into the hole left in the ball, having first pierced a hole in the foam rubber, and secure it with glue. Pour a mixture of sand, alabaster and water into a beautifully designed glass, fix the previously obtained structure vertically.

How to give a money tree

So, how to give a money tree for a wedding? Invite the newlyweds to take part in the performance.

To do this, you will need the appropriate entourage of a good wizard, a pot identical to the one in which you planted your money tree, coins and magic cloth.

Place the pot in the center of the hall on a chair, hand the newlyweds coins-seeds - let them plant a money tree themselves. Then, using spells, cover it with a “magic” blanket and divert the attention of the guests to a magical dance.

At this time, your accomplice or you yourself change the pots (of course, this moment should be rehearsed to perfection). You tear off the “magic” fabric - and voila! The most useful plant for the bride and groom.

Advice! Be sure to be “sincerely” surprised that the newlyweds managed to grow a money tree. Let them know that you are just a beginner wizard and that before this, such ideas ended in failure.

Second: wait for favorable conditions to present a gift.

Now that you have definitely decided on the idea for the present, think over the circumstances in which you will be able to surprise as much as possible and present it correctly. If it's a birthday, you can do this in front of the other guests; a personal gift can be given separately in another room

It is important that this is preceded by a reason and a good mood for both of you

The right moment or occasion

One of the success factors is the right time and reason to give a gift. For example, if you decide to pamper a girl with sweets for no reason, you can use the service of a courier and publicly make such a beautiful gesture in the work team. But on personal and important holidays this should be done in person.

The girl is in a good mood

Make sure that the girl is in a positive mood at the time of delivery. If suddenly for some reason she is upset or preoccupied with other troubles, do not rush with words of congratulations and gifts, otherwise you risk ruining the overall impression of the chosen surprise. It’s better to first help her reorient to the positive and relax, and only then present what you have prepared for her.

Confidence on the part of the guy when presenting a gift that this is what is needed

If you are completely in doubt about the appropriateness of the chosen gift, you need to reconsider the situation at the planning stage or find something clear. But when the choice has already been made and there is no escape route, you need to try to get rid of any doubts and uncertainty.
