Decorate the room with planets, stars, galaxies, nebulae, comets and asteroids. Admire pictures of real and imagined images of outer space to decide on compositions here and there, with basic shapes, colors and shades. To create decorations on the theme of space, the following are suitable for a party:
- glow in the dark stickers. You can make it yourself from masking tape or adhesive paper and luminous paint from a spray can (spray on paper, dry, cut out anything);
- Lava lamps come in a variety of shapes, shades and sizes. It’s easy to assemble yourself, even if you have no experience at all (there are lessons online);
- disco ball, Christmas tree garlands, preferably with large lanterns of round, star or conical shape;
- rotating starry sky projector. It’s very beautiful, especially if you put several small lamps in the corners of the room;
- silver paper, foil, fabrics. You can make garlands and streamers, cut out stars to decorate walls and ceilings, sprinkle star dust on dishes (using PVA), make napkins and coasters, lampshades, etc. Drape the furniture with loose floor-length slipcovers in white or silver.
Luminescent paint is indispensable, with which you can paint all the walls and ceiling! Of course, having previously protected them with cheap paper wallpaper or stands. Space suits, food in tubes, rockets and space stations, satellites, UFOs, aliens - made of cardboard and paper, balloons, children's toys.

Original costumes, like decorations for a space party, are easy to make from scrap materials. To give your friends an incentive, write in the invitation: “Competition for the best costume! A valuable prize awaits the winner!” Which? For example, tickets to a movie premiere or to a cosmonautics museum, a collection of films or a colorful encyclopedia about space.
Ideas for costumes can be drawn from films and cartoons. Or come up with something of your own, unique and surprisingly alien. Bright and shiny colors, tentacles, spare pairs of legs and arms, a tail, claws or a third eye - use your imagination!
For guests without costumes, prepare glowing T-shirts and accessories - glasses, bracelets, baseball caps, belts, etc.

Of course, cosmic! Any food, preferably in portions (buffet), decorated in the theme of the evening - stars and planets, rockets and comets. These can be cookies and cakes of suitable shapes or cut out figures of vegetables and fruits. Not everything is necessary, just a few decorative elements to decorate the main dishes are enough. Napkins with drawings of galaxies, alien flora and fauna (made of paper, fabrics).
Table setting
Prepare the most authentic space food for space explorers. To do this, you can purchase vacuum packaging or come up with original cosmic names for ready-made baby purees. At the table, you can entertain children in the following way: prepare soft puree and fill plastic syringes with it, let the children guess with their eyes closed what kind of puree they are trying.
The festive table will look great in silver and blue and white colors. Add to the decorative elements images of space rockets, stations, figurines of astronauts, dishes imitating the rings of Saturn, moon rocks, asteroids and other joys of the universe.
Stars will look good in different formats. For small canapés, you can use cookie cutters. You can make the stars sweet or use them as decorations.

Entertainment
In such a bright atmosphere, in colorful funny costumes, you don’t want to sit at the table at all! Have fun dancing to music from movies about space, blow up planet balls with darts with a comet’s “fiery tail,” destroy evil aliens with banana skins (you can write numbers on a stand with an image and award points for well-aimed hits).
- Parade of planets - multi-colored gymnastic balls, always with a holder, start and finish. On command, guests sit on the balls and, bouncing, jump to the finish line. Who will come first and who will leave orbit?
- Prepare paper figures or drawings of aliens. For each figure there is a story about the planet (short, a couple of sentences). There must be a key point in the story. For example, on Rhapsody it is always pitch dark - the figure is thin, pale, with small eyes and large ears. The presenter reads, all the figures are mixed up on the table, the participant must be the first to guess and grab the alien from the planet from the story.
- An old children's game, but in space style. For a party in a spacious room. Lost equipment - small balls of three colors scattered on the floor (three different balls for each participant). Participants are divided into pairs. One of the pair is an astronaut, the second helps him from the command center (standing to the side). Astronauts in pitch darkness (blindfolded) and in strong gravity (on all fours). The host announces which ball to look for. The astronauts, listening to prompts from the command center, fumble with their hands on the floor, trying to grab the desired ball, then the second and third. Whoever managed it first survived. Oh, I won.
To relax, have a quiz. Questions of this kind:
- rotation speed of Venus;
- distance from Earth to Jupiter;
- diameter of Pluto, and the like.
Participants are divided into two teams. 20 seconds are given to discuss the answer. Of course, exact answers are not needed. The main thing is that the given figure is closer to the truth than the answer of the opposing team. Forward, beyond the galaxy!
Take a photo with Belka and Strelka and see the cosmonaut fishermen
The second New Year's site, dedicated to the conquest of space, will be located between Stoleshnikov Lane and building 1 on Tverskaya Street.
There will be a 3D installation “Rocket with Belka and Strelka”. This is a four-seater spaceship, inside of which sit the famous four-legged space travelers. One of the dogs has a decorated Christmas tree in his paws. There are two empty seats in the rocket, just between the four-legged astronauts. Guests of the holiday will be able to get into the cabin of Belka and Strelka and take funny photos.
Opposite Kamergersky Lane, a playground will be installed where children will be able to go snowboarding and tubing. It will resemble a snowy area with low hills. Between them, those skating will be greeted by luminous figures of planets and small Christmas trees. And not far from the skiing area you can see a beautiful sculpture composition - two astronauts catching stars from a lunar crater with fishing rods.
