Giant shapes of letters and numbers to fill with balloons

Every year, various decor for a photo shoot becomes more and more relevant. These can be ready-made photo zones or thematic elements. One of these are large numbers, which are often used at children's parties or for anniversary photos for couples. Often their cost is quite high. Therefore, we offer several simple master classes with which you can make numbers with your own hands.

Simple number from roses

For those who do not do needlework, it is better to try to do something simple first. For example, any beginner can perform the number of roses. After all, the main thing is to follow the instructions and not be afraid to experiment.

We will prepare the following materials:

  • large cardboard;
  • corrugated paper;
  • glue in a gun;
  • scissors and knife;
  • stapler;
  • pen.

On the cardboard we draw a number of the required size and shape. If desired, you can make a large and small version for decoration.

Carefully cut out the number with a stationery knife so that there are no creases left on it. Let's start preparing the roses. To do this, cut off the corrugated paper and cut it into strips.

We stretch the paper a little to make it convenient to form the flower. Due to this, the strip length increases significantly.

We bend the top edge of the strip to the inside.

Turn the strip over to the reverse side, as shown in the photo.

We bend the edge of the paper, forming a partial triangle.

We fold the rest of the paper towards the beginning of the triangle, forming the core.

To make the flower more even, it is better to use a pen to create it, as shown in the photo.

Gradually wind the corrugated paper, fixing it along the bottom edge. The more layers of paper there are, the more open the rose will be.

When the flower has the required shape, remove the handle and secure the base with a stapler. We form the remaining flowers. If desired, you can make them multi-colored, then the number will be very bright and unusual.

We lay out the roses on the workpiece, and if necessary, make a few more pieces.

When everything is ready, take the flower and cut it off at the base.

Apply a little hot glue to the blank and glue the rose. We don’t throw away the remaining tail, but leave it for work.

Fill the entire blank with roses.

When the main part of the work is done, we proceed to the remaining tails. We straighten them one by one and glue them to the empty spaces. If you wish, you can fluff them up a little more to make the figure look even more voluminous.

A wonderful figure for the holiday is ready!

Invitations

We decorate the traditional version of a rectangular postcard with drawings of waves, algae, and sea inhabitants.

Fish, turtles and seahorses can be drawn, or you can cut them out of colored cardboard and glue them onto a postcard - then we’ll get a three-dimensional detail that will look more interesting.

Well, the options for figured postcards are a shell, a duck, a whale or a mermaid’s tail.

Number in winter style

For work we will prepare:

  • cardboard;
  • corrugated paper in several shades;
  • stationery knife;
  • pencil;
  • scissors;
  • scotch;
  • plain printing paper;
  • glue in a gun;
  • rhinestone ribbon;
  • watercolor paints and brush;
  • decorative snowflakes.

Draw a number of the required size on the cardboard and cut it out with a stationery knife. We make two identical blanks.

We cut out strips of cardboard of the required width to make the figure three-dimensional. Carefully glue them with tape to one of the sides.

We place a second blank in the form of a number on top and glue it with tape.

We cut strips of corrugated paper of different shades.

Cut them into small pieces, as shown in the photo.

We cut white printing paper into strips and paste over the number.

Glue pieces of white corrugated paper along the edges.

Fill the middle tightly with two colors.

To give a winter style to the figure, we apply a little white and blue watercolor paint.

Glue decorative snowflakes on top of the corrugated paper.

What is aeromosaic?

Decorators have finally figured out how to make shapes with clear contours from round balls! Boxes with sides appeared, inside which balls of different diameters were placed. This is a real mosaic of individual balls, which are attached to the bottom of the structure and to each other with double-sided adhesive tape on a fabric basis. The sides are wide, the decoration stands on the floor without additional supports or fastenings.

These are quite large decorative elements. Their height is rarely less than 1 meter, since small balls in several rows should easily fit inside. Let's put it this way: the larger the frame and the smaller the balls, the clearer the image you have in mind.

Here are a few examples; below I’ll tell you what the differences are and why the cost of some structures is many times higher than others.

Volumetric figure

Making a beautiful, large number for a special event is not an easy task. After all, such work is very labor-intensive and time-consuming. But if you are determined, then let's begin the creation process.

We will prepare the following materials:

  • large cardboard or foam;
  • corrugated paper in several shades;
  • small balloons;
  • scissors;
  • threads;
  • glue in a gun;
  • wire;
  • ruler.

First, let's prepare the base. Cut out a number of the required size from cardboard or foam plastic.

If desired, it can be painted with special spray paint.

In the meantime, let's start creating flowers. To do this, take one sheet of paper and fold it like an accordion.

Cut into two parts so that one is larger than the other.

Take a smaller piece, straighten it and fold it in half.

We cut it into two parts.

We take the part that was set aside at the beginning. Fold it like an accordion and cut it in half. We prepare all the segments to create flowers of different sizes.

We repeat all subsequent steps in turn for each segment that we prepared earlier.

Place the wire in the middle of a piece of corrugated paper and twist it.

Round the edges of the paper with scissors.

Gently straighten and stretch the edges, forming a lush flower.

We repeat the same with the remaining segments, forming beautiful flowers of different sizes.

We attach the flowers to a piece of foam or cardboard using glue.

We inflate small balloons and decorate the number with them for the holiday.

We welcome guests

A special sign, decorated in a nautical style, will help inform guests about where the holiday will take place. Also, a path decorated with foil balloons to match the holiday can act as a landmark.

To ensure that guests also match the theme of the celebration, we hand out accessories to them at the entrance - caps, hoops, bracelets. Bracelets with hoops are suitable for girls, and caps are a universal option; you can dress up all your guests in them.

Volumetric figure: interesting ideas

If you decide to repeat one of the master classes, be sure to try adding your own details to the figure. For example, an unusual decor or color combination. We have specially prepared several ideas for inspiration.

Image of the birthday boy

The boy's outfit depends on the theme of the holiday. If you have settled on a general nautical theme, a sailor suit will do, and if your choice is a narrower theme of pirates or SpongeBob, then choose the appropriate suit. Sailor and pirate costumes can be found at rental stores, and the role of SpongeBob's outfit can be played by an ordinary yellow T-shirt with the image of a cartoon character.

The girl can be dressed up in a mermaid costume or just in a dress that matches the color scheme. Girls really like fluffy skirts and dresses, and a felt crown with pearls or a festive paper cap to match the dress will complete the look.

Candy bar

We also decorate the sweet table in a sea theme. To do this, we choose the background and tablecloth in shades of blue, complement it with a fishing net, paper fish figurines, and serve sweets in small aquariums.

Images of lighthouses, boats, anchors, and steering wheels are suitable as toppers. We decorate the tubes with paper skates, stars, and shells. There is a simpler option - we glue small flags onto the tubes.

And of course, at the festival of the sea, we can only have real water from the ocean as a drink) And we decorate the container for it with stickers with octopuses or crabs.

We top the cupcakes with sugar pearls, decorative stars or jelly candy turtles.

The cake can be decorated with a small paper sail, and ordinary macarons are transformed into a shell with a pearl.

And even the usual and not quite festive crackers can be creatively served in buckets with spatulas, and we pour white jelly beans into a small aquarium and call them pearls)

The sweet table will also be decorated with gingerbread cookies in the shape of jellyfish, fish, skates and stars, painted with colored sugar icing.

Entertainment

A children's holiday cannot be complete without games and competitions. Here is a small selection of activities that will make a child's nautical themed birthday party fun.

Attach your tail

We draw a mermaid or a whale on a sheet of whatman paper, draw and cut out the tail separately. The child's task is to try to attach the tail while blindfolded.

Fishing

For this game you will need a children's pool or a large basin of water, as well as a toy fisherman set with fishing rods and magnetic fish.

The most accurate

Props - a stand with fish and with cut out holes, as well as balls or balls. The point of the game is to get the balls into the holes.

Creative activities

Types of calm, creative activities for children on the theme of the sea:

Looking for treasure

For this entertainment you will need a container with sand or foam, and the treasures themselves. The children's task is to find the treasure.

Festive table

We decorate the table itself with shells, stars, netting, and burlap.

We also decorate disposable tableware. Children will be interested in eating from a plate shaped like a turtle or crab.

Since the child’s birthday is planned in a marine style, seafood and fish dishes will be appropriate as treats. But ordinary cold cuts or salad can also be decorated according to the theme of the celebration - laid out in the shape of an anchor, decorated with pepper octopus, crab-shaped toppers. You can also remember a favorite dish of many - fried octopus sausages. Not very useful, but on a holiday you can)
