Winter, slush, cold, snow? Do you want summer, sun, dancing? A corporate party for the New Year in a Spanish style will perfectly warm your guests on a cold winter day!
New Year in the Spanish style is suitable for teams where warm, friendly relations have developed and most of the employees will not feel awkward when participating in competitions with hot Spanish hugs. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to please everyone, because there will always be someone who does not want to participate in competitions, but is it worth it for others to give up on the fun?
Decorating a room in Spanish style
To make the room sunny and bright, the predominant color should be red; besides, the Spaniards love this color.
Red tablecloths, red balloons, red paper garlands, red ribbons tied, for example, on the back of a chair, red Christmas tree balls, red rain, red streamers, red roses in vases - you can use anything.
You can hang posters (large photographs) on the walls with images of Spanish bullfights, Spanish dancers or colorful scenes from films about the Spaniards. Pictures can be easily found on the Internet and printed in online printing shops.
On a separate table you can place glasses (cups) of wine, such as sangria or sherry, for an aperitif and a plate of light snacks. In Spain it is called tapas.
Don’t forget to hang a poster with the inscription: “Happy New Year!” so that no one forgets what holiday they attended.
Menu
Paella and jamon, fabada and cocido, gazpacho and mojama - a huge selection of available recipes! The cuisine of Spain includes lamb and pork, seafood and fish, a lot of cheese, tomatoes and olive oil, garlic, eggplant, sweet peppers and beans. These are aromatic herbs and all kinds of sauces. Guests will certainly be delighted to try the sweetest turron and the most delicate Catalan cream, sangria with pieces of fruit and malaga with a subtle bitterness.
Many vegetables, fruits and berries are painted in the colors of the Spanish flag - use this moment to decorate the table. For example, straws of yellow and red sweet peppers, flowers of yellow and red tomatoes, slices of Red and Golden Delicious apples.
If a serious feast is not in your plans, tapas, invariable for Spanish gatherings, will help out. There are several hundred recipes for this snack, and some even believe that tapas as a dish cannot be fit into the framework of a recipe. This includes portioned seafood salads, stuffed olives, sliced meat and fish, cheeses with sauce, with herbs, and olive oil. In general, such a table resembles a buffet table - snacks are laid out in beautiful rows or slides, on pieces of bread or on skewers.
Menu for a New Year's corporate party in Spanish style
What to treat guests to a Spanish party? There are plenty of options. For a celebration in the office, you can create a menu and divide the responsibilities in its preparation among employees. You can order dishes in a restaurant with delivery to your office, and if you are already going to celebrate the New Year in a restaurant, then you just have to choose dishes in accordance with the concept of the holiday.
The table must include dishes from Spanish cuisine or those styled after them. For example, gazpacho, paella, hot seasonings and sauces. Unfortunately, winter is not the season for tomatoes, but there are plenty of ketchups and canned vegetables on sale. Even pizza can be found in Spanish style.
Dress code
It is best to immediately warn your guests about your desire to see them in the theme of the holiday. For women, a bright flower, a fan and an interesting dress are enough.
Men can put on hats and pick up guitars :).
Scenario for a New Year's corporate party in Spanish style
Meeting with guests
The hosts greet each guest with strong, warm hugs in the Spanish style. After which you are invited to a table with an aperitif and tapas.
All corporate party guests must take a Spanish name. The chosen name is written on a card and attached to the suit (you can pin it with a small safety pin).
If a person finds it difficult to choose a name, you need to have cards with ready-made names in reserve. For example, Pedro, Raul, Fernando, Jose, Juanita, Conchita, Catalina, etc.
During the evening, you can only address each other by these names. For a mistake or incorrectly given name, a fine is imposed.
Light buffet
In general, a light buffet lasts until all the guests have arrived. Then the presenters invite everyone to the table.
New Year's feast
The first toasts are heard from the company management. When clinking glasses, you must definitely say “Chin-chin!” - this is how it is done in Spain.
While everyone is eating between toasts, you can propose a competition. Everyone takes turns naming concepts associated with Spain. For example: Don Quixote, bullfighting, Carmen, flamenco, castanets, bull, siesta, Madrid, etc. The one who could not remember anything drinks a penalty.
New Year's games and competitions
Competition The most original hug
Divide the participants into pairs and ask them to come up with the most unusual hug. In this hug, you can use not only your hands, but also other parts of the body.
Pairs are invented and then shown one by one. The winners are chosen by voting.
Competition Close Hugs
Participants are divided into pairs, preferably opposite sexes. Each couple hugs tightly and holds a red ball between their stomachs.
Task: while performing a quick couple dance to Spanish music, hold both the hug and the ball.
Those couples who survive until the music turns off are awarded a prize - a pack of ketchup.
Game Dancing-Huggers
You need to prepare rubber rings in advance. For this purpose, regular underwear elastic bands tied in a ring are suitable. The ring should be of such a size that it tightly wraps around the torsos of two or three people standing close to each other. It is advisable to decorate rings made of elastic bands by tying red ribbons, braid on them, sewing red silk flowers, etc.
Divide group members into groups of 3 and 5. All group participants become a tight circle and hug each other by the shoulders. Each group of hugging people receives a ring, which should connect them into one whole, tightening them at ankle level.
Incendiary music is turned on, and those hugging must make various movements, trying to raise the elastic band higher and higher. You can’t open the hug, so you can’t help with your hands either.
The winner is the group whose elastic band is removed over their head the fastest.
Suits
The traditional costume of a flamenco dancer is not necessarily red. The dress or skirt can be of any color, polka dot or small flower. The main thing is that the clothes do not hide the appearance of a burning senorita: a tight top or corset + a long skirt with flounces. Or a dress with short/long sleeves, with frills, and a deep neckline.
Accessories that highlight the Spanish style: a bud in a fluffy hairstyle, large beads, ring earrings, a Manila shawl (large, with long fringe). If you can find all this, even a regular sundress with wide straps and a long, loose skirt will be suitable for a party.
Clothes for real machos - black trousers, a bright shirt, a wide belt and a figaro vest. Instead of a vest, a short jacket will do. Or sew a shirt with frilled sleeves from the very shoulder (in the color of your companion’s skirt). You can come in tight jeans and a black silk shirt, casually unbuttoned with three buttons. Or dress up as a matador!
Language learning at the Red Cross.
A completely pointless activity! Since we all love “free”, I decided to take a Spanish language course at the Red Cross (Cruz Roja). I came for an interview, submitted documents, passed the test, and was assigned to a group (if you don’t know the language at all, you will automatically be enrolled in a group where training starts from zero level). What can I say?
- 95% are teachers of retirement age (as we know, Spaniards retire at 65);
- mostly speaking no language other than Spanish;
- without teaching education.
Bottom line: teachers are volunteers who are bored sitting at home and, as such, teaching (giving knowledge to a student) does not interest them. Their interest: to be in demand in society and, at the same time, to find something to do out of idleness. How is the training going? To be honest, I learned absolutely NOTHING there! It was just a waste of time - the lesson takes an hour + time on the road. Of course, each group had its own teacher (as a class teacher), but the teachers were often sick or unwell and were replaced by others. For 2.5 weeks (4 times a week = 10 lessons) there were 3 teachers in my group - two women (grandmothers) and one man (grandfather). One grandmother really loved to sing songs and her teaching was “built” exclusively on her vocals. She handed us pieces of paper with the lyrics of the song and started singing! Oh, in vain we praised her for her vocals (to be honest, we praised her not for the vocals themselves, but with the soul and selflessness she sang), this made her sing even more soulfully throughout the entire lesson - song after song! As you understand, we did not make any progress in learning the language (like all teachers, however). After singing, we could ask questions: what was unclear in the text. But much was unclear, and no one understood anything from her “explanations.” At that time I had a Spanish friend (we are still friends) who had been studying Russian for a long time and already spoke Russian well. By the way, he is a volunteer in this Red Cross (but he is not 65, but 48 years old), thus improving the Russian language: he meets Russian-speaking people and sends them to different offices to solve specific issues. So, I gave him these sheets of paper with the lyrics to look at. He, perplexed: “Where did you get this from?!” I answered. He: “We haven’t used such words for a long time, these are very old songs.” Question: why do students need this? The teacher is another grandmother. The lesson has started... students: “We already went through this in the last lesson.” Changed the subject. We: “We’ve already covered this topic with you.” And then the lesson took place in a different vein: “just chat.” Apparently, there were no more topics for the lesson in her “arsenal.” The teacher is a grandfather. I taught only one (last for me) lesson with my grandfather. Grandfather gathered “all the grandmothers into a pile” - he tried to give all the topics that we had already covered with the grandmothers and sheets of paper with the lyrics of songs and poems (it’s good that he didn’t sing!). After 6-7 such classes, I decided not to attend any more courses. But, we were told that in a week we were scheduled for an excursion (free!, from the Red Cross) to the Botanical Garden of Valencia . I had to “hold out” for another week. But in vain!, the excursion did not impress me at all. All the same centuries-old trees and flowers (with signs) that are in any park and on the streets of the city. One moment made me laugh: in a small area, the most ordinary geranium of different varieties grows, all varieties have signs with inscriptions. When we started touching the flower leaves, our guide even got scared and said that we shouldn’t touch the flowers. Draw a conclusion: is it worth taking Spanish courses at the Red Cross? Of course, the word “free” is attractive, but it’s zero knowledge plus wasted time. I still can’t understand: how does learning go in groups with a zero level of language with such teaching?!
Let's return to Spanish TV .
Entertainment
Spain is bullfighting, carnival, lots of dancing and singing! So why not have the same fun in your own backyard?
Bullfighting can be played by dividing into several pairs. Someone plays a bull, and someone plays a bullfighter :). After one side wins, everyone switches places.
For children, the piñata, which is considered the birthplace, will be a wonderful entertainment. Make a shape out of paper (geometric or the outline of an animal) and fill it with various children's surprises - candies, small toys and crackers.
Each child present is blindfolded and given a small stick. The goal of the game is to break the piece and get prizes :).
By the way, adults can play this game too!
To make your holiday filled with fun, don't forget about the musical accompaniment! In our VKontakte group you will find
Holiday idea. Organize a party in Spanish style. What is Spain famous for? Of course, music, dancing, as well as unique cuisine and healthy foods - fish, herbs, vegetables. Celebrate a girl's 25th birthday in Spanish style according to our scenario.
Place.
Any spacious room with the ability to decorate it and allocate an area for a buffet table and tables.
Menu.
Healthy food - vegetable salads, small snacks (canapés), you can prepare interesting soups, for example, creamy soups.
We also prepare several traditional Spanish dishes, such as pintxos. Pinchos are small grilled skewers that consist of pieces of meat (for example chicken) and alternate with vegetables. Pinchos are seasoned with cumin and other spices and finished in the oven. You can also prepare a traditional Spanish potato dish. You just need to fry the potatoes thoroughly, it is best to do this in deep fat. The potatoes are served with a spicy sauce, which you can either buy or make yourself. Also, take care of delicious and healthy desserts. For example, you can replace cakes with light pastries - baskets with fruits, nuts and whipped cream. Meat and meat snacks can also be served at the main table. Decor.
Decorate the room with bright colors.
In Spain, the traditional colors are red, black, orange and yellow. you can use fabrics in these colors for decoration, and also print posters using these colors. The room can also be decorated with guitars and small red rugs. Dress code.
Have guests follow a dress code of red, black and orange.
For girls, the famous Spanish dresses with flounces would be ideal, as well as flowers in their hair, fans in their hands and circle bracelets on their wrists. For guys, the ideal outfit would be a set - black trousers plus a red shirt. Party scenario
Spain is characterized by passion and brightness in emotions. Therefore, it would be good to warm up the guests a little before the start of the party itself by organizing a simple dance master class. No complicated movements, just let guests learn simple dance compositions. Choose music with the sound of a guitar and Spanish speech. Next, you can invite guests to the table, and then organize competitions.
1. Competition “Catch a flower”. Imagine that you are singing a serenade under the window, and the girl from above throws you a flower. Of course, you need to catch it deftly. At the same time, you hold the guitar with one hand. So, hold a competition - let 3 (5,7) pairs, which consist of a guy and a girl, compete in the dexterity of throwing and catching flowers. The guys need to give guitars (can be fake, cardboard, or even toy ones) in one hand, and give them a small bucket in the other. Give the girls artificial or fresh flowers. The couple with the most flowers in the bucket wins. At the same time, you cannot catch flowers with your hands; there are buckets for this.
2. Imagine that you are in Spain, but you don’t know the language at all. All you managed to learn was “Buenos dias,” that is, “Good afternoon.” And you really want to ask or tell someone something! So, divide the competition participants into teams of 2 people. Give one person a list of phrases or questions that he should say or ask in a way that the other person will understand. Participants are given 5 minutes. The team where the interlocutor understood the majority of phrases and questions becomes the winner. Important! You can only use gestures, facial expressions and the phrase “Buenos Dias”. List of phrases and questions to say to the other person: What day is it today? I love you! Are you an architect? The sun is shining so hot! It's going to rain today!
3. Break your guitar. Fake guitars are made from cardboard or papier-mâché. Now the teams need to arrange a “battle” with guitars so that at least one breaks. The team that breaks the most guitars wins.
4. Red canvas. Participants are divided into teams. One team is bullfighters, the second is a bull. The team of bullfighters is given a box with red scraps, which must be combined into a solid red cloth. And the “Bull” team must “break through” this canvas, or rather, find loopholes and crawl through the canvas. You can’t climb underneath, go around, you just need to “break through.” One of the teams wins. Toreadors win if they work hard and create a strong canvas. At the end of the competition, everyone hugs and goes to eat dessert.
This is a dream party, a fairy tale party. Spain is one of the most beautiful countries, and its culture is amazing all over the world.

The matador waits to enter the arena in the passage (callejon) behind barriers (barreras) and shields (burladores). Horses are kept in patio de cabayos (horse yard) and bulls are kept in corrales (pen).
Every day, somewhere in Spain there is a holiday (fiesta) - usually more than one. There is no village, town or city that does not honor its patron saint, Our Lady, or the cyclical phenomena of nature with processions, the running of bulls, fireworks, theatrical battles, an ancient rite or a romeria - a mass pilgrimage to a local shrine. Many romerias wander along rural roads all year long. Regardless of the occasion, the fiesta is an opportunity to take a break from everyday worries (on such days almost all shops and offices are closed) and relieve tension: the festivities sometimes last around the clock.
If a holiday falls on a Tuesday or Thursday, shops, offices and museums may be closed until the following Monday and Friday, respectively; such long weekends are called puente (bridge).

Banquet in Spain.
The newlyweds drive up, the groom comes out, and helps the bride out.
- Dear guests! An amazingly beautiful couple, the bride and groom, are approaching us, let's greet them with a standing ovation!!! Young confetti, showered with rose petals, goes to the loaf holder. – Good afternoon ___________and _______!!! This is where your holiday begins. -We congratulate you on your legal marriage. Well, dear newlyweds, you have come to your most beloved, dearest people - your parents! Parents' speech. Then the young people are invited to break off a piece of Tamada bread:
Tell me, what will we judge from the broken pieces? - Right! Who in the family loves to eat the most, or who will be the head of the family!
Young people eat bread.
And now you have the opportunity to annoy each other for the last time - salt your bread! Yes, add more salt... Look at each other with tenderness, exchange pieces and feed each other! – What a caring couple! They won't leave each other hungry!
“I feel like we’ll soon hear the clink of glasses!” - Now make a wish. Did you make a wish? - We drain the glasses and throw them over our left shoulder - so that we love each other dearly!!! And we, dear guests, will now determine who will be born to them first. If the fragments are large - a boy, if small - a girl...... And now everything is according to the law - the marriage is sealed with a crystal ringing! It’s time to go into the hall, the newlyweds once again, everyone is in harmony - HURRAY!!! Father-in-law or father-in-law (one of the male parents): Now bring your wife in your arms into a new life! This is our lot as men - to carry our ladies in our arms! Toastmaster:
“After all, you, newlyweds, will definitely be gossiped about.
Any couple is sure to be discussed behind the eyes. (Addressing the guests.)
Now let’s meet the quota for behind-the-eye gossip! So that there is no more gossip left for this family! Let the guys step away for three minutes, and we will wash their bones.
The newlyweds retire to the ladies' and men's rooms.
At this time, you can remove the glass fragments, arrange bouquets in vases (place the vases on the table where there is a “family bank” and a tree of wishes!!)
Explain to guests that they can put cash gifts in a box (it will be signed), and on the painting “Tree of Wishes”, leave their fingerprints or a short wish

For fans of sunny Spain
The women's national costume of the country of Phoenician origin is bright, colorful, with special energy. It combines tastes, centuries-old traditions and the identity of the Spanish people. Many girls and women like the image of a free Spanish gypsy who can easily dance in the squares of a noisy city and attract the attention of passers-by.
Romantic people leave a lot of positive reviews about the national Spanish costume. The girls note that the clothes are ideal for classical Spanish dance and flamenco. She emphasizes every movement of the dancer and her proud posture. A long, fluffy, multi-layered skirt with ruffles does not hinder your steps and allows you to easily move in space.
A harmonious image captivates viewers with passion and beauty, arouses sympathy and leaves positive emotions. The details of the costume add a special flavor: fans, beads, earrings and flowers that are attached to the hair or collar.

Tomatina Tomato Battle
The world-famous La Tomatina in Buñol was born from a curious accident: at one of the city parades in the mid-twentieth century, boys tripped up a Spaniard who was carrying a huge doll over his head. The fallen man did not look for the culprit and gave slaps to everyone he could reach. In response, someone threw a tomato from a greengrocer's shop at him - and off he went! Since then, the tomato battle has been held every year, and to build things up, they organize the “Palo Jamon” competition: a heavy piece of jamon is attached to the top of a pole greased with soap, and tricksters try to get the jamon out of it. As soon as someone succeeds, the signal sounds for the start of the tomato battle, which very quickly turns the entire city into a huge pot of gazpacho.
The date of Tomatina in 2021 is August 28.

Fiesta is a traditional folk festival in Spain , Latin America and many Mediterranean countries. Originally from the Roman Empire, where the Latin word festa
was used to describe any folk festival. Now every fiesta in Spain turns into a musical carnival with parades and fireworks.
Siesta is a Spanish tradition of afternoon rest . Spanish word siesta
comes from the Latin
sexta hora
- “the sixth hour of the day after the rising of the sun”, in other words - 12:00. In the afternoon, the Spaniards follow the principle “after eating, you can sleep,” and under the hot sun of Spain this tradition is tempting to support.

Music
It is music that will help create the right mood and envelop you in an atmosphere of passion. At such a themed party, beautiful Spanish melodies and tunes should sound. These can be both folk and modern compositions. Rhythms of sarabande and salsa
, bolero and flamenco will not let you sit still.
Musical compositions by such artists as Shakira
, Enrique Iglesias, David Bustamante, Joaquin Cortez, Julio Iglesias will also help you immerse yourself in the atmosphere of Spain. Absolute hits that will touch the hearts of all guests present will be Besame mucho and the composition Toni Braxton Spanish Guitar. The albums of our famous virtuoso guitarist Didyulya will definitely appeal to the guests of the party.
If one of the guests plays the guitar, you can ask him in advance to prepare and perform several Spanish compositions. It will certainly be the highlight of the evening.
A Spanish party is a wonderful opportunity to get to know music and dance
Spain.
How to entertain guests?
When guests have already enjoyed Spanish cuisine, but have not yet left the table, you can invite them to play the well-known game “ Cities”
" Only populated areas in Spain need to be named. Or you can simply say words that are associated with this country. The person who doesn’t say anything drinks a penalty glass. When three people in a row cannot come up with anything, the game ends.
You can have a fun battle with guitars. To do this, guitars made of cardboard or papier-mâché are distributed to competition participants, who are divided into two teams and fight among themselves. The team that breaks the most guitars wins.
A comic bullfight will be an excellent entertainment.
It is necessary to take care in advance about the venue for incendiary
Spanish dances. After all, they are the peculiarity of the party.
Idea No. 2.
Popular Spanish youth game "Top". A spinning top is required for this game. If you don't have one, make a top yourself. It's not difficult at all. We offer two of the simplest options.
- A top made of cork. Cut a circle from the wine cork and pierce it with a match or toothpick in the middle. The toy is ready.
- Cardboard top. Cut a circle out of cardboard and pierce it with a match or toothpick. You can fix the circle using plasticine or chewing gum.
So, the actual game. The player launches the top and, when it spins, tries to lift it with his thumb and forefinger and place it on his open palm. A prerequisite: the top must continue to spin in the palm of your hand. This is quite difficult to achieve - you need to practice well. The winner is the first to taste the finished dish.
How to decorate a room?
The Spaniards love red, yellow and orange, so they should predominate in the design of the room. You can combine them with black.
The walls are decorated with multi-colored paper garlands and posters depicting bullfights
