Reclamation Day and Agricultural Worker Day were combined into one, but after the collapse of the union, many states tried to abolish the celebration.
Russia had to overcome many difficulties encountered on the way to the development of the agricultural industry, but through the introduction of modern reforms and the hard work of agricultural workers, the country reached a new level of economic development. That is why representatives of this industry are deservedly honored on the day of special events.

How to celebrate the Day of Agricultural and Processing Industry Workers
It is important to develop agricultural production, as this will give a second wind to rural areas. Receiving income from the sale of agricultural products contributes to the development of rural settlements. Schools and medical institutions are opening here, new houses, sports and playgrounds, etc. are being built.
In this regard, due attention should be paid to the popularization of labor both among agricultural workers and those who work in the processing industry. It is important to raise current issues that relate to this area in the media, to hold public events, fairs and festivals that will increase the prestige of these professions.
About the village and its workers
Today the village has an excellent labor market, which is important and significant for the whole country. Farming in the village is becoming the main sector in the huge Russian economy. The country can rightfully be proud of its achievements in this direction. There is almost ½ of all the earth's reserves of black soil. There is nothing like this in any other country. This is very important for obtaining excellent harvests and, accordingly, large profits. Recently, the government has been allocating quite a lot of funds for the development of agriculture, and this is yielding good results.
By right, workers deserve a lot of attention and should definitely celebrate Agricultural Worker Day. They face many problems and difficulties.
The vagaries of nature often present surprises to rural workers, but they always come out of the desperate situations with dignity and save the fruits of their labor. Thus, they bring warmth and tranquility to the hearts of a huge number of people living in the country. It is impossible to imagine how much strength, health and effort the people of the village put in to provide such a huge population of the country with the necessary food to maintain and improve life.

The importance of the profession
What keeps society going? High oil and gas production rates? Developed services and infrastructure? These demands are secondary. The first priority is the quality of food in the daily diet. Working in agriculture is considered the most ancient profession, when in ancient times a person was forced to hunt, fish, plow the land, and grow plants.
Important: Nowadays agriculture provides stability to the country and its independence. Today, a third of Russia's GDP comes from this sector of the economy. And the agricultural sector provides jobs for 30% of the country’s residents. There are also many retired farmers, this is a reason to congratulate your grandfather on the day of the elderly.

You can endlessly look at fire, water, and ripening grain
Workers of many professions consider this day a holiday of their profession. These are workers who, in any weather from dawn to dusk, are on the field during the harvest, raising farms or private farms, managing agricultural processes - livestock specialists, agronomists, veterinarians, processing raw materials into food products at food organizations and processing plants. Of course, these are also residents of rural areas who are “grown” to the land and cannot imagine their life without it. They work on their plots and vegetable gardens without days off or holidays. They physically work on the land, put their soul and heart into the new harvest, and are guided by centuries-old traditions. The work of everyone involved in this sector of the economy is aimed at the benefit of the state. So treat your workers to an interesting slice of melon or watermelon!

Farmers feed us
Every second Sunday in October, Russia celebrates the holiday of all those employed in the agro-industrial complex - the Day of Agricultural and Processing Industry Workers. On this day, the Karerist.ru team congratulates everyone who devoted their work and time to agriculture. Let the earth always please you with its fruits, let your work bring you pleasure, and in the most difficult working days you do not forget that your work is important and necessary. We wish you many bright days, an inexhaustible supply of energy and vigor, may your home be full! You feed the whole country and we are proud of you!
Happy holiday to you, dear workers of agriculture and processing industry.
History of the holiday of agricultural and processing industry workers
The celebration of the Day of Agricultural Workers began with Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 679 of May 31, 1999 “On the Day of Agricultural and Processing Industry Workers.” Since that day, for 17 years in a row, it has been celebrated at the state level every second Sunday of October.
Many events preceded the appearance of the holiday.
For example, the fact that about 30% of the population is employed in the agro-industrial complex, and the government simply could not help but honor the work of all those who feed the country. It is also worth noting that agriculture and the agro-industrial complex occupy the most important place in the Russian economy and everyone who works in this industry deserves special attention, honor and their own small holiday, in honor of which everyone can congratulate the professionals who have dedicated themselves to this hard work .
There are no traditions as such on how to celebrate the holiday. Work teams across the country organize small corporate parties, possibly holiday concerts, congratulate each other with gifts, and employees of some agro-industrial facilities are awarded certificates for professionalism and special contribution to the development of the industry.
Labor market in the agro-industrial complex: problems, trends, salaries
About 10% of all arable land in the world is concentrated in Russia.
Based on this, it should be noted that agriculture and industry-forming areas occupy the most important place in the country’s economy. More than 75% of products produced in the agro-industrial complex cover the demand of the population of the entire country for goods. Thus, in addition to large agricultural holdings and firms where agricultural production professionals work, workers in this field include agricultural scientists and researchers, food industry employees, farmers, and processing specialists.
The heads of large private firms and state-owned agricultural enterprises put forward strict demands on their employees. This is because there are not so many specialists who can support and plan the development of one of the most powerful economic complexes. Universities do not always manage to fill agricultural faculties, since young people do not show an active interest in working in sectors of the complex, where, by modern standards, salaries are quite low.
For positions of specialists and managers, the employer selects candidates with a specialized higher education, work experience in the field of at least 3 years, mandatory orientation in the specifics of the agro-industrial complex, deep knowledge of the economic situation in Russia, skills in strategic planning and analysis, and also preferably the presence economic education.
No less serious demands are also put forward for factory workers and field workers.
According to the portal russia.trud, the average salary in the region in 2021 was 22 thousand rubles. Considering the fact that branches of the agro-industrial complex are sensitive to market conditions and crisis moments, and products are also subject to seasonal demand, the salaries of employees of enterprises and field workers may fluctuate. The most vacancies are open in Moscow and the region - 8.1%, followed by the Krasnodar Territory - 6.1% and immediately behind it is the Rostov region.
In terms of the level of salaries received by workers in agriculture and the processing industry in Russia, the Republic of Ingushetia is in the lead. Here employees receive an average of 50 thousand rubles per month. Further behind it are the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug and the Republic of Dagestan.
Managers, managers and sales staff can expect slightly higher pay.
So, in large agricultural holdings they receive up to 100 thousand rubles, and in medium-sized enterprises - 50-80 thousand rubles. In 66.1% of open vacancies in the industry, workers are offered wages in the amount of 5.5-22.4 thousand rubles, and only 5.7% indicate a salary of 39.3-56.2 thousand rubles.
Thus, low wages do not motivate job seekers to submit resumes for positions in the agricultural sector. The work in this area is quite hard and responsible, and the monetary reward does not correspond to the efforts put into the work. As long as the crisis rages in the country and the government does not approve a strategic program for the support and development of the agro-industrial complex, the problem of low wages will remain relevant.

Agricultural Worker's Day in Russia: date, meaning
In the spring, work is underway in Russian fields to sow grain, and in the fall, the fruits of the great labor invested are harvested. During these periods, village workers devote all their soul, care and strength to their main and favorite work.
Every year in Russia, on the second Sunday in October, a magnificent holiday is celebrated, dedicated to the kind and hardworking citizens of the country. This holiday is the Day of Agricultural Workers and Processing Industry Workers of the Russian Federation. In 2021, this significant day falls on October 11th.
On this wonderful holiday, all workers and frontline workers are honored, wonderful warm words of gratitude are said not only to people who put all their strength into work in villages and villages, but also to industrial workers. This holiday is dedicated to all those people, without whose work there would not be enough basic food products for the city residents.
Agricultural workers celebrate their professional holiday
Today the professional holiday is celebrated by those who literally feed us. Agricultural workers. The date of the second Sunday in October was not chosen by chance: the harvest in the country basically ends at this time. By the way, he is impressive this fall. There are almost eight million tons more grains alone than last year. 82 million tons of wheat: enough to cover the country's needs, and there will be some left for export. More and more vegetables and fruits are being harvested, and planting areas are expanding. Vladimir Putin noted in his congratulations to the farmers the success of the industry, thanks to which Russia’s food security is ensured: “In recent years, our agro-industrial complex has achieved truly, without any exaggeration, impressive results. And it is important that the industry, as a true leader, is constantly moving forward, increasing its efficiency and production volumes.
Today, Russia not only almost completely provides itself with all major types of food products, but also annually increases supplies abroad and develops global markets. I would especially like to emphasize that even in difficult conditions associated with the coronavirus epidemic, the domestic agro-industrial complex continued to operate stably under restrictions. You worked not only with the highest dedication, but also with real courage. In the most difficult months and weeks of this year, there was no disruption in food supplies, the sowing campaign was carried out on time and in full, and in the summer the harvesting campaign began on time. And now we can say that the harvest will be good. Again more than 120 million tons of grain. I would like to note that figures exceeding 100 million tons were considered a record relatively recently, but now, thanks to your work, this is a sustainable tradition.”
In principle, almost everyone can consider themselves involved in the holiday in our country; many have dachas. There is a battle for the harvest in every plot, and every gardener has something to be proud of. You can now talk about your achievements on social networks as part of the ONF project “People’s Farmer”. On the eve of Agricultural Worker's Day, a flash mob was launched there.
It's not difficult to get lost in these thickets. The corn is as tall as a small tree. This is now grown in the Rostov region. The highest in the region. But just a few years ago there was only waist-deep corn here, and the yield was minimal - 8 centners per hectare. Today it is almost 20 times more. Already 150. Farmer Alexey Palkin achieved such an incredible result, despite the difficult weather conditions this summer, thanks to an irrigation system that recently appeared on his fields. From now on, he doesn’t ask the sky for rain: “Corn is a very high-yielding crop, but it is 100% dependent on weather conditions, it needs temperature, heat, and it needs water.”
For those who achieve high results in agriculture, the ONF launched the “People's Farmer” project to show everyone the agricultural records of our country.
For example, in this farm there are several reasons for pride. The leader, not afraid to get his fashionable coat dirty, introduces Kesha, the biggest goat in the country.
– Height at the withers is ten meters, while the standard is only 90 centimeters. We have been doing genetic work for almost 20 years in order to create the best goats in Russia,” says Taras Kozhanov, director of the Industrial Goat Breeding Association.
Well, where there are goats, there are, of course, goats, among which there is also the best one. Manya is the most productive in the herd. Gives up to 9 liters of milk daily.
This is not a competition. The grain of cheese must be quickly poured into molds so that the mass does not have time to cool. Otherwise, the density of the product will suffer, and with it the cross-sectional design and, accordingly, the quality. Every head of cheese here is babysat, like a child.
– You need to look after him for seven months. It’s not easy to bring it and put it in the cellar. It needs to be turned over every day, the surface of the cheese and its crust need to be monitored so that everything is as it should be,” shares Elvira Kovtun, chief technologist at the cheese factory.
And this is so true that it has been recognized internationally. For the first time, the gold medal at the festival in Bergamo was given to Russian, and not Italian, Swiss or French cheese makers.
And this is the gold of Altai, buckwheat honey.
– The product is unique, it has a very high diastase, more than 60 units. Diastase is an enzyme, an indicator of the quality of honey and its naturalness, explains Andrey Kvint, beekeeper.
More than 1,700 bee families live in the largest apiary in Siberia. They did a great job in the summer and are now preparing to spend the winter. Checking how the process is going, the beekeeper carefully moves through the frames and sings. Still would! Thousands of tons of honey were collected here. It will be sweet for everyone.
