Unexpected congratulations in the classroom on Birthday Day
Children love surprises, so the option of an unexpected birthday greeting will appeal to them.
Here are some examples of how you can create an unexpected surprise for the whole class:
- The last lesson ends, the bell rings and suddenly, many colorful balloons fly into the open door. The children are waiting to see who will come in after them - but there is no one! First surprise, and then screams of delight are guaranteed.
- Another scenario is when a teacher receives a phone call, he picks up the phone and tells the kids that he will be leaving the classroom to answer an important call. He leaves, and some other character enters instead, for example, “Iron Man”, Crocodile Gena or Transformer. The animator, dressed in a suit, begins to congratulate the birthday people and may even give them greeting cards or a balloon as a nice gift. After congratulations, you can hold competitions or quizzes with riddles, take bright photographs, sing a congratulatory song, etc.
- Congratulations in the dining room will be even more unexpected and very memorable. To do this, you need to agree in advance that at the moment when the class with the birthday children enters the room, loud music with a theme song will be turned on. And then all the guys will be able to sing along and enjoy the event.
- Well, where would we be without a congratulatory cake? At the end of the lesson, the teacher goes into the corridor and returns with a large cake on which there are lighted candles - one for each birthday person. The kids will be able to blow them out, and everyone will enjoy a sweet treat together.
Recommendations for celebrating birthdays
Before holding “Best Parents” competitions, you need to make sure that children will perceive this event with humor and will be ready to expose themselves in an absurd and funny situation. As a rule, more than half of the class is occupied in the competition and the attitude of the spectators does not have a strong influence on the contestants. However, before the start of the competition it is announced that everyone can leave the race at any time, and the “parent” is allowed to be replaced by one of the spectators. It is prohibited to force birthday people to participate in competitions.
Depending on the wishes of the class, it is necessary to pre-allocate the time frame for the main events (some will prefer to spend the main part of the holiday at the table, while in other classes dancing is more popular).
Birthday in 1st grade
A birthday in 1st grade is special, because the child will have to share the joy of the holiday not only with family and friends, but also with classmates. How to please the birthday boy, how to organize a holiday for the entire children's group, what fun competitions and games to hold during breaks? It’s worth thinking about the scenario for a children’s celebration in advance, and our advice will help you.
How to decorate a classroom for a children's party
You don't need much to create a festive atmosphere in the classroom. For example, you can decorate the board with balloons or hang a banner on it that says “Happy Birthday!” A good idea is to involve the first-graders themselves in the design of the office: you can invite them to cut out beautiful letters from colored paper or cardboard (at the same time they will repeat the alphabet!) and fold them into a holiday greeting, securing them on a thick thread or twine. If you make the letters removable (for example, using clothespins), the garland banner can be used for other fun holidays.
An interesting idea is to decorate the classroom with origami made from colored paper: colorful flowers and lanterns. This is an excellent topic for both labor lessons and extracurricular creativity. Children will have a good time, because origami perfectly develops fine motor skills, spatial concepts, and introduces the basics of geometry. Ancient art is akin to a miracle: watching how, as a result of repeated folding, an ordinary sheet of paper turns into a beautiful figurine is always fascinating. And such a joint activity also helps to unite the children’s team and contributes to the development of children’s communication skills and group work skills.
The technology program “Primary School of the 21st Century” is aimed at developing creative abilities and organizing productive creative activities for children starting from 1st grade. Preparing the class for the holiday is a topic for a creative collective project, stimulating first-graders to search for and independently solve design, technological and decorative artistic problems, based on personal experience and illustrative material.
Classroom Celebration Ideas
You can celebrate birthdays once a season: in the fall, celebrate the common birthday of children born at this time of year, in the winter, honor all “winter” birthdays, and in the spring – “spring” (in March) and “summer” (in May). But this does not mean that little birthday boys will be left without congratulations on their “legitimate” birthday. It’s just that instead of a full-scale celebration, for which you will have to write or search on the Internet for a script for holding a children’s birthday party, a few pleasant little things and small gifts will be enough. How to organize this? Here are four simple options.
- Birthday boy's mailbox
Cover a small cardboard box for shoes or small household appliances with beautiful paper, cut a hole in the shape of a mailbox slot. Attach the box to the wall or place it on a classroom table. During the day, classmates will be able to write their wishes for the little birthday boy and drop them in the “mailbox.” The heroes of fairy tales can also congratulate the hero of the occasion: Doctor Aibolit can wish him health, Znayka can wish him good grades, Pippi Longstocking can wish him a great mood, and Winnie the Pooh can wish him to always have sweets in his pocket. It won’t take much time to think through your wishes in advance and print them out. - Magic chest with gifts
The chest can be a larger box, covered with a beautiful self-adhesive film or decorated using the decoupage technique. It is intended for small gifts, which can be a variety of inexpensive stationery items - sharpeners, erasers, pencils, pens, small notebooks, key rings, stickers, calendars. Children always appreciate the little things! - Festive wall newspaper
On a large sheet of whatman paper you can place congratulations and wishes, as well as a small questionnaire-story with photographs of the birthday person. Accompany each photo with a caption, for example: “Petya loves to ride a bike, he has a cat at home, his favorite subject is reading,” etc. You can ask your classmates to write a few words about the hero of the occasion: “I like that Petya is always cheerful!”, “Petya rides a bike great.” - Portrait of a name
At recess or during a class hour, you can give the birthday boy an unusual gift - tell about the origin of his name. You can be sure: not only he, but the whole class will listen with interest. Here, for example, is a portrait of the name Alexander: “The name Alexander is formed from the addition of two ancient Greek words “alex” (protector) and “andros” (man). From ancient Greek the name Alexander is translated as “protector of people”, and in simple terms – “protector”. People with this name are distinguished by excellent health, good physical shape and a great desire to win. Alexandras are sociable and very smart. The name Alexander has many derivatives: Alexandrushka, Aleksanya, Sanya, Sanyura, Lexa, Leksanya, Lexasha, Shura, etc. Great and famous people with the name Alexander are also countless: commanders Alexander the Great and Alexander Nevsky, poet Alexander Pushkin, actors Alexander Abdulov and Alexander Oleshko."
Options for games during recess
For elementary school, a holiday without fun competitions and games is not a holiday at all! It is best to alternate active games with intellectual ones during breaks. Here are some interesting ideas.
- "Mittens." To play, you will need new adult work gloves. It is with them that players (at least two) will have to collect small objects - buttons, tennis balls, rulers, pencils. Whoever collects the most in a minute wins!
- "Names" This game can be played by all children at once. Let them answer in a friendly chorus, remembering the names of the heroes of their favorite fairy tales: Karabas (Barabas), Baba (Yaga), sister (Alyonushka), Little Humpbacked Horse, brother (Ivanushka), Snezhnaya (Queen), Sivka (Burka) and so on.
- "Crocodile". A favorite game for children of all ages. The idea is simple: the presenter - it can be either the teacher or the birthday boy - thinks of a word for one of the children, and he tries to show it with facial expressions and gestures to everyone gathered. The word can be anything: Pinocchio, rainbow, iron, cloud - everyone will have fun!
- "Encryption". Write the “encrypted” names of literary works on the board and ask the children to guess: Yudkaychodmvo (“Thumbelina”), Okt in Gasopy (“Puss in Boots”), Ylmash and Noskral (“Kid and Carlson”), Ligaum (“Mowgli”).
- "Circus performers." You can divide the class into two teams or play in pairs. “Circus performers” must cope with a variety of tasks: carry boxes from the back of the classroom to the board on top of the top; carry the box, pressing it with your chin to your neck; carry the box on the back of your hand, etc.
- “Dot, dot, comma, a crooked face came out.” Blindfolded, the birthday boy must draw a person on the board, following the instructions of the teacher and classmates: “First draw the left leg,” “Now the head,” “Right eye and left ear,” and so on. After the birthday boy, the rest of the kids can try their hand at blind drawing.
What's for dessert?
Discuss treat rules with parents and the PTA in advance. For a comfortable and hygienic tea party, don't prepare any birthday cakes! Let it be sweets in individual packages: cookies, crackers, desserts.
An idea for those who are concerned about healthy eating is to make a treat using fruit. True, to prepare fruit canapés from bananas, kiwi, tangerine slices and grapes, you will have to spend a little more time. A reasonable alternative is a large dish of fruit: apples, pears, oranges, bananas.
Don't focus on holiday attributes such as food and gifts. After all, a holiday is primarily needed in order to unite the class and help each first-grader understand his personal role (“I”) as part of the whole (“We are the class”). The formation of a good tradition of “class birthdays” helps to create a friendly atmosphere between participants in the pedagogical process and contributes to the development of communication skills in children.

Best Parents Competition
The evening begins with the selection of “parents” for each birthday person from among other children. Various competitions are held between the “families”.
Game Maternity Hospital
In each “family” it is determined which player will be the “dad” and which will be the “mom” (the choice does not depend on the gender of the participants). Each “mother”, without looking, selects a card on which the child’s gender, weight, hair color, eye color or some other signs are written (game No. 72).
All “mothers” stand at a distance of 4-6 m from the “fathers”. The remaining players occupy the space between the parents and try to create as much noise as possible. At the command of the presenter, the “mothers” try to convey information about the child to the “fathers” with shouts and gestures. After a set period of time (1-3 minutes), the game stops and the correctness of the transmitted information is checked. The winner is the couple in which the “father” most accurately understood all the information transmitted by the mother. All “families” in which the information was transmitted correctly receive bonus points.
Dress Up Game
To play, you need a box with various clothes (children's clothes: baby vests, caps, booties; funny clothes: awkward hats, fancy dress costumes; ordinary things). All “children” sit on chairs, “parents” stand next to the chair. A box of clothes is placed against the opposite wall of the classroom.
At the leader’s command, the “fathers” run to the box, choose any item and bring it to the “mother,” who must put this item on the child. The task of each “family” is to put as many clothes on their “child” as possible within a set period of time (1-3 minutes). Two prize points are awarded for the game: the “family” that puts the most clothes on the “child”, and the “family” whose “child” is dressed more neatly than others.
Game Feeding
Each “family” receives a bowl of jelly and two spoons (for “dad” and “mum”). The task of the “parents” is to feed the child as much jelly as possible within a certain period of time (one minute). The team that copes with this task better receives a prize point. Jelly can be replaced with baby cottage cheese or pudding.

Equipment: presentation, cake, balloons. Progress of the lesson: Organizational moment Teacher: Become a good wizard, Come on, try it. There is no need for special cunning here. Accepting and fulfilling the desire of another is a pleasure, honestly. Good day. My name is ___________. Did you guys say “Good afternoon” to anyone today? Let's correct this misunderstanding. To do this, let’s stand up and greet our friend with the words: “Good afternoon, I’m Irina.” And let's shake hands. You can release your hand only after the hand of your other friend is in the other hand. (Greeting to music) Teacher: We said hello well, and now let’s talk about the beautiful things! And I want to start our conversation with you with a fairy tale. (To music)
A long time ago, many centuries ago, there were not so many stars in the sky as there are now. On a clear night, only one star could be seen, the light of which was either bright or very dim. One day the Moon asked the star: “Why is your light so different: sometimes bright, showing the way even at night, sometimes dim and invisible”? The star was silent for a long time, and then, sighing, answered: “My light becomes dim when I am lonely. After all, there is not a single star next to me. And I really want to see and hear someone next to me!” “On what nights does your light become bright?” asked Luna. “My light becomes bright when I see hurrying wanderers. I’ve always been interested to know what attracts them on the road, where people are in such a hurry?” “Did you find out the secret?” asked Luna. “Yes,” answered Star. “I once asked this question to a man who had been on the road for a long time. He looked exhausted and very tired, every step was given to him with great difficulty, but his eyes...” “What were his eyes like”? – Luna asked in bewilderment. “They glowed in the dark with happiness and joy,” answered the star. “Then I asked: what are you happy about, wanderer?” And he answered: “Freezing in the snow, starving without a piece of bread, suffocating from the heat, I walked forward, overcoming all obstacles, because I knew: warmth and comfort awaited me at home, the care and cordiality of my family - my wife, children, grandchildren. For the sake of their happy eyes, I am ready to do even the impossible.” The star fell silent, and then answered: “Since that very time, I have been trying to give as much light as possible to those travelers who bring happiness to their home, to their family.” Luna looked at Star and asked: “My little helper! Would you like to have your own family? “Is this possible?” – Star asked hopefully. The moon, without saying another word, waved the sleeve of her golden robe, and at the same moment thousands of new stars shone in the sky, blinking with their unique flickering light, as if they were telling the little star: “We are near, we are here, dear, we are now - one family"!
Teacher: Why do you think this particular fairy tale was told? What are we going to talk about today? (Children's answers) Yes, we will talk about family, because: You and I are growing up in a family circle! The basis of the foundations is the parental home! All your roots are in the family circle! And you leave your family in life! What should happen in a real family? Let's create a portrait of a real family. — There are hearts in the box, you take one at a time, read what is written on them, and attach it to the poster. (Words on the hearts: mom, dad, children, understanding, happiness, love, hard work, traditions, holidays, friendship, grandfather, grandmother, respect) Teacher: Well done! Let's focus on the word “holidays”. What is a holiday? (Children's answers)
Game "Ball" - There are many holidays in our lives. What holidays do you know? Answer during the game. I will now throw the ball to you, and you will catch it and call it a holiday. You can't repeat yourself. (Progress of the game “Ball”)
Teacher: Have you remembered all the names of the holidays? Now let's divide them into family and others. Those who said family, stand on the right. And those who are different are on the left. So many family holidays! Tell me the most beloved and long-awaited holiday for every person? Birthday is the most fun, best family holiday. How many years have you guys been together? Oh, in three years you have probably become a real family. When is your class's birthday celebrated? I suggest you correct this mistake and declare today the birthday of your class. There must be a birthday person at this holiday. If we choose one person, the other may be offended, so I think this “Timoshka” can help us. Birthday is a holiday of childhood. Even adults turn into children on this day. I'll dress up as a child and suggest you put on your birthday party paraphernalia. And now we definitely need to decorate the place where the holiday will be. Take these balls. Everything seems to be ready for the holiday. We are waiting for friends. And friends are you, and they usually come with gifts. Write a wish for your new friend on the balloon with a marker. Everyone at a birthday party waits for one moment: when the cake with candles is brought in. Our birthday is no exception. (Cake with candles is brought out)
Let's stand in a circle, make our deepest wish and blow out the candles on the count of three. And, of course, a birthday is not complete without the well-known “Song of the Crocodile Gena” to all of us. Summary of the lesson : Thank you guys, everyone. Our class hour is ending. And I have the very last task left for you: here’s a flower for you, stick it to that family holiday that you would like to know more about.
Game Transfer
Purpose: entertainment.
Age: 12-17 years.
Number of participants: 6–20 people.
Material support: none.
Rules. All players except the leader and the first player leave the room. The presenter comes up with a task and tells it to the first player. Then the next two players are called. The first player tries to convey the task to them by signs. The pair of players then discuss how they understood the task and another player is called. The couple tells him the task. After this, the player shows the task to the new pair of players with signs. Players who have already taken part in the transfer remain spectators in the room, but do not have the right to interfere with the transfer of the task. This process is repeated until it reaches the second to last player. The second to last player calls the last player and tells the player what needs to be done.
Examples and additional material. Examples of tasks:
- bring a glass of water and offer it to someone present;
- take an apple from the table and treat it to the tallest person present;
- pick up the chair from under the birthday girl, stand on it, clap your hands three times and shout “Hurray!”
Recommendations. It is advisable to come up with an activity for players waiting in line.
Birthday Gifts for Presentation at School
Giving gifts to birthday boys in class is quite common. However, how can you do it in such a way as to please the heroes of the occasion, but not offend the others? There is such a congratulation - to create a gift through joint efforts so that all classmates can take part in it. To do this, you need to print a beautiful anti-stress picture on A3 sheet format. These are images that are divided into small fragments and they are called zendoodles.
You need to prepare the number of pictures corresponding to the number of birthday people. Each drawing is given to the children in rows along with a pack of felt-tip pens or colored pencils. Children begin to take turns painting over fragments of the drawing. The result will be a colorful, bright picture, which will then be presented as a gift.
This gift, created by the whole class, can be framed and hung on the wall or placed on a shelf in the room. It will remind you of a pleasant moment!
The same joint gift could be a wall newspaper prepared by classmates. To do this, you can ask for photographs of the birthday people from their parents. Paint a wall newspaper with funny drawings, paste photographs with names and come up with funny congratulations in verse. Also, everyone can leave their wishes to their friends on it. Let such a wall newspaper decorate the classroom board and bring joy to the children.
Auction “Pig in a poke”
The auction is held for children who did not have time to spend the “money” they earned. The interesting thing about the auction is that the lot is not shown to participants until the end of the drawing. The presenter only gives an approximate or humorous description of the item and names its initial cost.
Participants offer their bets and the one who reports the highest amount receives the item being played and finds out what it is. Thus, 5-10 lots can be played in the auction. In this case, it is necessary to alternate between valuable and funny prizes.
