Oh, how many wonderful discoveries the spirit of enlightenment prepares for us, And experience, the son of difficult mistakes, And genius, friend paradoxes...

This part of A. S. Pushkin’s poem was the epigraph of the famous TV show “The Obvious - the Incredible.” The permanent host of the program was Sergei Petrovich Kapitsa, a Soviet physicist, son of Nobel Prize laureate Pyotr Leonidovich Kapitsa. This television program talked about science and technology, inventions, covered philosophical, cultural and psychological problems of scientific and technological progress, and made forecasts for the future. Today at the event the theme of which is “Science is us!” and dedicated to the Day of Russian Science, which is celebrated annually on February 8, you and I will talk about Russian science, the discoveries and inventions of Russian scientists, get acquainted with new literary works about Russian scientists and their discoveries, and of course we will be able to show off our knowledge in this areas.

Today it is appropriate to recall the words of Anton Pavlovich Chekhov, who argued: “Science is the most important, the most beautiful and necessary in a person’s life, it has always been and will be the highest manifestation of love, only with it will a person conquer nature and himself.”

And now we bring to your attention a video about the discoveries of Russian scientists.

VIDEO

Teacher: Science in Russia is currently receiving a lot of attention from the government and the president of our country. Thanks to this, science is becoming younger, young scientists are making discoveries. The next video will tell about the discoveries of young Russian scientists.

Organizing a children's science show for their birthday

  • For experiments, 220 Watt sockets are required. But this does not mean that a science show cannot be held on the street. You just need an additional extension cord for an outdoor holiday.
  • Convenient access to the site. Artists should be warned about all the nuances: how easy it is to drive up to the venue of the event, where the parking is located. If a pass is required to enter the territory, this must be taken care of in advance. This will save time on unloading the required props. To save more time, we recommend meeting and escorting the artists yourself.
  • There is a briefing before each show. Experts tell viewers how to behave in a given situation, how to react to nitrogen and other chemical tricks. Preparation for a scientific birthday usually does not take more than twenty minutes - this does not tire children, maintaining their festive mood.
  • Safety of participants. Harmless experiments will not leave any traces, so young viewers can safely “have fun” with our animators. Before some shows, white coats, protective gloves and goggles are handed out. This only stimulates the children's interest. In addition, with such props you can take interesting photos as a keepsake.
  • Site cleaning. And the artists completely clean up the place where the show is shown. If they refuse to clean up, performers will leave used props at the show location.

Entertaining physics

Using the example of fascinating experiments, you can introduce a school-age child to the laws of physics - it will turn out to be much more interesting than simply learning a rule from a textbook.

Be careful: some physics experiments involve fire, and it is the responsibility of an adult to light matches or a lighter.

Forks and balance

For children 10 years and older.

The experiment proves that bodies can maintain balance even in a position where it would seem impossible to maintain balance - this is due to the fact that the center of mass of bizarrely shaped bodies shifts lower than that of geometrically simple bodies.

What you will need:

  • two forks;
  • toothpick;
  • matches;
  • wooden stick.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. Place the wooden stick so that it is as stable as possible - for example, you can stick the stick into an orange or other dense fruit or vegetable.
  2. Connect the forks to each other with the tines.
  3. Place a toothpick in the gap between the tines of the forks.
  4. Place a toothpick on a wooden stick: if done correctly, the structure will maintain balance.
  5. Try rotating the structure and burning part of the toothpick - the forks will continue to maintain balance.

Video for the experiment:

Experience with alcohol and oil

For children 10 years and older.

The child will see from his own experience that each liquid has a different density.

What you will need:

  • tall glass tumbler;
  • liquid soap;
  • vegetable oil;
  • water;
  • alcohol (ask your parents what kind of alcohol you can take for the experiment)
  • a spoon with a long handle or a glass rod;
  • coloring (food coloring or any color) – optional.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. Pour liquid soap (approx. 100 ml) into a glass glass.
  2. Add a few drops of dye to a container of water and mix with a spoon or glass rod.
  3. Add the colored water very slowly to the liquid soap container so that the water does not mix with it.
  4. Also gradually add oil. Each layer should be approximately 100 ml.
  5. Pour alcohol into the last layer.

Video instruction:

Experiment with a candle and a glass

  • one package of food coloring;
  • syringe;
  • pipette;
  • matches or lighter.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. Fill one glass halfway with water.
  2. Using a pipette, add two drops of dye to the water - you can do without dye, but with colored water the experiment will be more visual.
  3. Place the candle in a plate and add colored water there.
  4. Light a candle.
  5. Cover the burning candle with an empty, clean glass.
  6. Due to the decrease in pressure, a vacuum is formed under the glass, water from the plate is “drawn” into the glass and rises to the top, and the candle goes out due to the lack of oxygen.

Balloon and fire

For children over 10 years old.

Using an example of an experiment, you can show what thermal conductivity is: explain to your child that water conducts heat faster than air, and that is why a balloon filled with water under the influence of fire will not burst immediately, but only when the water warms up enough.

What you will need:

  • two balloons;
  • candle;
  • matches or lighter;
  • a measuring cup, preferably with a spout (you can use an iron dispenser);
  • water.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. Using a cup with a spout, fill the balloon about halfway with water.
  2. Inflate a balloon filled with water.
  3. Inflate an empty balloon.
  4. Light a candle.
  5. Bring a ball of water to the fire for 10-15 seconds, during which time the ball will not burst.
  6. For comparison, bring an empty balloon to the fire - it will burst instantly.
