Where can I arrange a quest?
When we say “home quest,” we mean that it can be carried out not only in a house or apartment, but anywhere: in the yard, in a park with a gazebo, at school, in a kindergarten, in a library or cafe. The quest tasks will depend on the place you choose and who is playing.
When you have decided on the venue, select suitable hiding places for future tasks:
- if only children play, then hiding places should not be located above their height, in dangerous and inaccessible places;
- on the street and in a public place, limit the play area: in the park you can stretch a string along the boundaries, indoors - specify which parts of it are involved;
- use holiday paraphernalia: Christmas tree, garlands, paper snowflakes;
- The names of the caches should be familiar to children and not be too difficult to spell.
How to arrange a New Year's quest for children
It is preferable to conduct a New Year's quest at home. So that all the children are familiar to you. In addition to a house or apartment, you can use the yard space. The quest task will depend on the place you choose.
Separately, it should be noted the rules for choosing places for caches. Main recommendations:
- Hiding places should not be located in places that are dangerous for children.
- If the game is played outdoors, then limit the playing area in advance. Agree with your children so that they do not go beyond it.
- The names of the hiding places should be familiar to children. Write them down in simple words.
Description of tasks in the quest
“The beginning of the search” - according to the riddle, you need to find out where the search for all the secrets of Santa Claus will begin.
“Such different names” - this quest task has a cognitive and educational character, since it tells participants about how Santa Claus is called in different countries, and from this information, children need to find out the hiding place of the next task.
“What kind of holiday is New Year” - a task for associative thinking. From the presented pictures, it is necessary to select only those that children associate with winter and the New Year holiday.

Competitions for the New Year of the Tiger 2022
Roar like a Tiger
The host chooses one of the guests and blindfolds him with a scarf. The player is placed in the center of the room. Guests approach him one by one and emit a majestic roar, getting used to the role of the Symbol of the Year. No other words or sounds are allowed. If a player recognizes the source of the roar, he receives a symbolic prize and gives up his place to another participant. The game can last 4-5 rounds so that all guests can express themselves.
My tiger cub is the best
The presenter invites 3 pairs to participate. Each couple is given a set of accessories: a striped scarf, a hairband with ears, a rope ponytail with a clothespin, makeup pencils. One member of the couple is blindfolded. At a signal, the blindfolded player must dress his partner in a tiger “suit”, draw a nose, mustache and other elements as desired. The most creative couple wins.
Tiger compliments
The tiger is the confident and domineering owner of the year. He loves compliments. The guests stand in a large circle. Starting with the owner or any other person, everyone takes turns complimenting the symbol of the year in alphabetical order. You should start with the letter “a”, for example, active, then “b” - cheerful, and so on. Anyone who could not come up with a compliment for a certain letter is eliminated from the game. The most resourceful participant wins.
Tiger paws
Gifts specially prepared and wrapped in bright multi-layer wrapping are placed on a separate table. The presenter gives those who want to participate a pair of thick mittens. The number of players must correspond to the number of gifts. At the presenter’s signal, the players try to unpack the gift as quickly as possible. The winner is awarded a prize as the owner of the most tenacious paws.
Tiger Leap
Tigers are the best jumpers in nature, after kangaroos. The length of a tiger's jump is 10 meters. The presenter places an image of any animal around the room and invites the most desperate predators to participate in the hunt. Each participant chooses a target and determines the point at which he will begin the hunt. The winner is the one who makes the longest jump and lands exactly on his prey.
Unpacking a gift
Another fun and interesting New Year's competition with gifts. At the request of the host, 6 players come to the table. One gift is placed on the table in a box and numerous wrappers. Guests are assigned serial numbers from 1 to 6 and given mittens. The presenter rolls the dice and the first participant to remove the layer is the one whose check number came up. The dice rolls are repeated until the gift is unwrapped. The winner receives the contents of the box, and the remaining participants can receive consolation prizes.
Collect snowflakes
The host invites 2 players to participate. Everyone is given gloves with claws sewn or glued on them. There are snowflakes hung on the tree, on the floor and on surfaces, with a hole made in the center. Each player puts on a tiger mask and gloves with claws. At the leader's command, players begin to prick snowflakes onto their claws with their claws. The tiger who collects the most snowflakes will win the competition.
Tribute to the owner of the year
For the competition, the presenter buys or makes himself puzzles with the image of a tiger according to the number of teams playing. Teams of 3-4 people are invited to participate. Puzzle pieces are hung on the Christmas tree in advance. Team players stand in rows one after another. At the signal, the first participants run to the tree, find a puzzle piece and return back. The baton passes to the next team member who brings the second part of the picture. It is important that the pieces do not repeat, otherwise you will have to go back again and change part of the puzzle. The first team to collect the entire picture wins.
Striped toast
Interesting table entertainment will unite all seated guests. The presenter suggests taking turns saying wishes for the New Year in 2-3 words. The next guest must say a wish that contains an antonym to any word from the previous statement. For example, if the first guest says: “I wish you strong friendship and love,” then the second should say something like “Weak rivals in big things.” At the end of the game, the most resourceful and eloquent speaker is determined.
Jump into the burning ring
The host unites the guests into teams with an equal number of players. Team members stand behind each other in a separate row. The teams stand at an equal distance from the tree. A “burning” hoop is placed in the middle of the distance. In fact, it will be a hoop surrounded by a garland, rain or tinsel. One of the guests is holding it. The burning ring is placed at the same distance from the floor. At the signal, the first players run, jumping into a hoop, then run to the Christmas tree, shouting a code word or a tiger roar. Then the second participants run through the ring, overcoming the same obstacles. The team that completes the task faster is declared the winner.
Sit on the tiger
A fun contest with a Wild West style but which is perfect for the new 2022 Year of the Tiger. The strongest and strongest tiger players are invited to participate. A second participant sits on each person. You cannot hold onto your tiger with your hands. To the cheerful New Year's song, the tigers actively move and kick. The task of the second players is to stay on the tiger until the end of the music. The one who remains “on horseback” the longest receives a symbolic prize.
Tiger
The presenter invites 4 teams with the same number of people to participate. For each team, a sheet of white paper with a letter is attached to the wall at an equal distance. For the first team the letter is “T”, for the second - “I”, for the third “G”, and for the fourth “R”. At the “start” command, the first players run to the sheets and write one wish for the corresponding letter. For example:
- Tactfulness, patience, hard work, precision, muscular body;
- Intelligence, ingenuity, sparkling champagne;
- Genius, literacy, loud victories, glossy brilliance;
- Agility of mind, relaxedness, agility, joy.
The winner is the team that completes the task first. Separately, you can reward the most original participant.
Melt the Snow Queen's heart
For this competition, you need to freeze the ice in advance in beautiful original heart molds. Before the start, the presenter calls 4-5 players and gives each one an ice heart on a saucer. On command, players try by any means to melt the pieces of ice with the warmth of their bodies. You can take and rub ice with your hands, breathe on it and use other tricks. The person whose piece of ice melts the fastest will be declared the winner. The prize can be any glass figurine or other interesting souvenir.
Start of scenario
“Song about Summer” (from the film “Santa Claus and Summer”) plays in the background.
Santa Claus comes out.
Santa Claus : Hello, my dear children! From afar, I rushed to you on a reindeer sled, but there was confusion. My granddaughter Snegurochka got lost, and with her a bag of gifts. Tell me, children, will you help me find them?
All children in chorus: Yes!
Santa Claus : I called the Snow Maiden, I called. He shouted and shouted, but she didn’t hear. Let's all call her together?
All children in chorus: Yes!
At the command of Father Frost, the children call loudly in chorus: Snegurochka! Snow Maiden! Snow Maiden!
Scene #1
The song “Tell the Snow Maiden where you’ve been” is playing (from the film “Well, Wait a minute!”). The Snow Maiden in disguise comes onto the stage with a funny gait, copying the girl.
Disguised Snow Maiden (in a thin, unnatural voice): Hello, girls and boys! You called me, here I come!
Santa Claus : Who are you? For some reason I don’t recognize you...
Disguised Snow Maiden: Oh, grandpa, you’re already quite old and blind, that’s why you didn’t recognize your own granddaughter! Look carefully, it's me, Snow Maiden!
Santa Claus looks around in confusion, and then turns to the children for help.
Santa Claus : Kids, help me, please, without glasses I can’t see well at all and I can’t accurately determine whether this is my granddaughter or not. Find three differences! This must be done in exactly three minutes, otherwise I will be forced to recognize her as real and we will spend the entire New Year with this Snow Maiden. Can you help?
The children agree. Santa Claus takes out a stopwatch and commands.
Santa Claus : One, two, three, start the game! Time has passed!
The song “Tell me, Snow Maiden” is played in the background.
Task No. 1 “Find three differences!”
While the disguised Snow Maiden dances and makes faces, the children look for three differences. While dancing, she invites Santa Claus and some of the children or parents to dance with her, involving her in a funny dance. Children must guess the following differences:
1) Gender is male, not female;
2) work gloves, not knitted, warm ones;
3) on the feet under the fur coat - slippers, instead of boots.
Note: If the children are too small, Santa Claus gently prompts. For example: What’s in her arms, children? I don’t see... What is she wearing?.. and so on.
The disguised Snow Maiden is offended: You are so cunning!
Santa Claus : And how smart they are!
Disguised Snow Maiden: Well, okay. I confess. I'm not myself. That is, I am not her! And I hid your gifts too! (sticks out tongue). And you will never find them unless you solve my riddles and complete my very difficult tasks. You are ready?
Santa Claus: Oh, you ugly thing! Look, what did you come up with, hide the gifts! But we can pass all the tests, guys?
The children answer in unison: Yes, we can!
Disguised Snow Maiden: Then hold on! Here is my first and very difficult task!
New Year gift-quest for children
If you want to surprise your child, plan the quest so that he doesn’t guess anything. To do this, it is better to choose a third-party premises rather than an apartment or house. Since for the quest you will need to make a little decor, place areas with riddles, and think through the little things. And at home, the kids will quickly understand that something is wrong.
Also invite actors, animators and a presenter. A professionally assisted quest will look much more realistic and exciting than one organized independently.
But rest assured that giving your child a quest for the New Year is one of the most original options for congratulations, which he will definitely remember for many years!
New Year's quest scene No. 2
Task No. 2. "New Year's fishing!"
Music plays, the song “If only there were no winter” (from the film “Prostokvashino”).
Children dance around the pool with fishing rods. As soon as the music stops, you need to catch the letters. Whoever can. The music starts again. And so on until all the letters are caught and the word “FAIRY TALE” is formed.
The disguised Snow Maiden is nervous and capricious.
Disguised Snow Maiden: No! It's not fair! Why does everything work out for you? I don't agree! I don't agree!
Santa Claus: Don't talk to us! We honestly win all tasks and competitions. Where are our gifts? Where's my holiday bag?
Snow Maiden in disguise: Guess the riddles! Only then will you find a bonus Snowflake or a clue Snowflake, which will lead you to the place where Santa Claus’ treasured bag is hidden. Ready?
Children in chorus: Ready!
Quest scene No. 3
The room should have a TV, an oven, a shoe box, and a refrigerator.
If this is a school, then you can attach pictures with these items to simple medium-sized cardboard boxes or paint the boxes to look like equipment.
Objects (boxes) are located in a variety of different and unexpected places, so that children are interested not only in solving riddles, but also in searching.
Snow Maiden in disguise: Listen to my first Riddle.
1. It’s cold not only there in the distance,
It's cold behind these doors too! What is this? (fridge).
One of the guys runs up to him and finds Snowflake there with the following riddle. It is written there:
2. Soft silent walks
We walk with our feet on...(we wear slippers!)
The kids must find the shoebox that contains the next Mystery Snowflake. It says:
3. We watch it day and night
And we watch all the cartoons (TV)
Children find a TV or a box depicting it and take out the next riddle Snowflake. It is written there:
4. Pies and pies
There they bake “one, two, three” (oven)
Children find an oven or a box with a picture of it. Snowflake is there with the next task.
An indignant Snow Maiden in disguise jumps onto the stage. A smiling, satisfied Santa Claus is walking.
Disguised Snow Maiden: What is going on, good people!!! All of them, these children, win and win in all tasks! And I? When will I win! Oh... I'll run... Oh... In short, when will you lose?
The children laugh at her.
Santa Claus : And I didn’t doubt our guys at all, by the way!
Disguised Snow Maiden: But wait! What is written in the next Snowflake? Come on, read!
Santa Claus takes Snowflake from the children with a task.
Santa Claus: Here, kids, is the next difficult task of our New Year's quest! Reads: “Complete the New Year’s obstacle course,” consisting of two tasks. 1st – “Letter Classics”, 2nd – “Winter Web”
Advent calendar design
I liked the idea of decorating an Advent calendar in the form of a town last year, then for all 20 days I made a lot of houses, one-, two- and even three-story. This time I decided to repeat the idea of the town, but only add many other elements, and also number each of them. So, in our town there is a children's playground with swings and a slide; on the appropriate day, surprises will also appear in them (there is an empty box inside the slide with a place for a gift). I think it's quite unusual to find your next surprise on the rocker
There is also Santa Claus's sleigh, a train, cardboard animals, trees, which also have a pocket.
And on the day when the cloud’s turn comes (for us this will happen 19 days before the New Year), sweet marshmallow snow will come from the cloud
Here you can download the templates for the houses and boxes that I used this and last year. I made a couple of houses, as well as a sleigh, a train, and animals using templates from the books “Letter to Santa Claus” and “New Year’s Gifts.”
New Year's scene No. 4
The song “Three White Horses” (from the film The Sorcerers) plays in the background.
Task No. 3. "Letter Classics"
Squares are drawn in the shape of classic “hopscotch”. Instead of numbers, letters, vowels and consonants are written in a chaotic order.
Assignment: the guys take turns jumping at the command of Santa Claus, for example, only on vowels, or, conversely, only on vowels. The task is considered completed if the children make no mistakes and jump on the correct letters. Depending on the age, you need to jump on one leg; if the children are older, if they are younger, they are allowed to jump on two.
Task No. 4. "Winter Web"
Three chairs are placed at a distance of about 70 cm from each other, the other three chairs are placed opposite the first (in a mirror image). Between the two rows of chairs a certain corridor is formed, through which the children will pass the web. The chairs are wrapped with a thread of cobwebs - tinsel (several ribbons tied together). The wrapping should not be too tight so that children can crawl, crawl or step over somewhere.
The task is considered completed if the children pass the “cobweb” without tearing it. At the finish line, the next beautiful Snowflake with a task awaits them.
Santa Claus applauds with his parents, and the Snow Maiden in disguise shows her displeasure.
Disguised Snow Maiden: Stop this immediately! It doesn't happen like that! Look how perfect they are here! I'm the only ideal person here! Wow, what a beauty! (spins, grimaces). That's it! You made me angry. Since we can’t beat you and confuse you, come on, your parents come out! I’ll give you a New Year’s quest now!
Adults come to help children.
Dressed up Snow Maiden: So, if you want your children to receive their gifts from Santa Claus, you will also have to try and guess not just riddles, but words from the poem. I’m sure... Oh (switches to a high-pitched voice) I’m sure you’ll never guess! Otherwise, everyone here was so smart and resourceful... I’ll check now!
Home quest competitions
Guess
You need to put toys in a large bag. Their number must be equal to the number of players. Children take turns putting their hand into the bag, choosing one toy. By touch they must understand what they come across and describe it in detail. When everyone takes a toy, we can say that this is a New Year's gift.
Carrot
The competition involves a relay race. To do this, you will need two extreme points, for example, small Christmas trees or Santa Claus figures. Participants are divided into 2 teams and given the same props - a carrot. Players must run around the end point and pass the carrot to the next team member. The group that finishes it faster wins.
The brightest tree
Again the players are divided into 2 teams. Everyone receives a box with New Year's toys and clothespins. The teams' task is to choose one player who will symbolize the spruce and dress him up. You can use clothespins to attach toys to any convenient places. Whoever manages to create the funniest New Year's beauty is the team that wins.
Catch
Participants are divided into pairs. One participant receives an empty bucket or bowl, and the second receives a dozen paper snowballs. Participants stand at a distance of 3-4 meters from each other. The task is to catch as many snowballs thrown by your partner using the container.
Blue-yellow-red
The game perfectly trains dexterity and speed of reaction. All participants stand in a circle. Merry New Year's music plays, during which the presenter talks to the participants. As soon as the music dies down, the presenter sharply says a color. The participants' task is to grab the neighbor on the right by the named color. If the player does not have time, he drops out of the quest.
Final scene #5
If the weather permits and there is an opportunity, this scene can take place outside. Children throw snowballs at the Disguised Snow Maiden. She throws (not much) back. Children win. She runs away.
If this is not possible, then this game can be moved indoors, and instead of snowballs you can use crumpled paper, cotton balls and even tennis balls.
Santa Claus: And now it’s our turn to give you a task! If you win, all the gifts are yours. Eat it, even if you burst! (winks at the children). And if you lose, you’ll tell us everything.
Task No. 6. "Snow fight!"
Playing snowballs with the Snow Maiden in disguise. Both adults and children take part.
The song “Three White Horses” (from the film The Sorcerers) is playing. Children win.
Disguised Snow Maiden: That's it! I give up! I give up! I won't do it again!!! Your gifts are where, despite the changes of time, nothing changes! Winter and summer in one color!
All children in chorus: Christmas tree!!!
They run to the New Year tree. Hidden in the back is a Santa Claus bag with gifts for children.
Everyone applauds and rejoices.
Santa Claus: Everything is fine, but where is my Snow Maiden? My real granddaughter?
The Snow Maiden appears with headphones in her ears. She walks and sings: “A Christmas tree was born in the forest...”
Santa Claus: Oh, these modern youth! Only music on my mind! Snow Maiden!
Snow Maiden: Oh, grandfather! And I'm looking for you! Guys, hello! Hello, dear adults! Why haven’t we started the New Year’s round dance yet? The holiday is coming soon!
Everyone stands around the Christmas tree and dances in a circle to the song “A Christmas tree was born in the forest.”
They celebrate the New Year and Father Frost and the Snow Maiden give all the children long-awaited gifts!
New Year's quest tasks
Letters on the Christmas tree
A simple and intelligent task where you need to collect all the hanging letters from the Christmas tree that need to be put into one word. This word can be a clue to the next step or the answer to a riddle.
Snow plateau
For this task, you will need a saucepan or a flat mold, at the bottom of which we place a hint, and fill the container itself with white cereal (rice, semolina). Each participant receives a brush with which they need to clear the snowball and read the message.
Snowballs
If the game takes place outside, then organizing a task with snowballs is as easy as shelling pears. For the home format, you will need several dozen white sheets that can be crumpled into balls and used as snow balls. The goal can be to hit the basket, shoot for accuracy or range, etc.
Book miracles
The continuation of the game can be tied to a line from a book. In the prompt, write to the child that “Alice in Wonderland” will help the children in the game. To do this, you need to open such and such a page and read a certain line.
Cold note
One of the tasks may be to search for a note in the home “museum of cold”. To do this, hide the clue in one of the freezer compartments. And a given point in a QR code or a homemade map can lead kids to this point.
